Judge Protects Criminal Illegals – While His Daughter’s Employer Gets Government Cash

Chief Judge James Boasberg recently blocked the deportation of Tren de Aragua gang members, a move that has raised serious concerns about judicial impartiality. Investigative journalist Laura Loomer uncovered a major conflict of interest—Boasberg’s daughter, Katherine Boasberg, works for Partners for Justice (PFJ), a nonprofit organization that provides legal support to criminal illegal aliens and gang members. This raises serious ethical concerns, as her father’s rulings directly benefit her employer and its mission.

Loomer’s report details that PFJ, where Katherine works as a capacity-building associate, receives 76% of its funding from government grants. The organization actively opposes deportations, mass incarceration, and laws targeting violent gangs like Tren de Aragua. PFJ’s mission, as stated on their website, is to “reduce incarceration, increase equity, and positively impact the lives of those harmed by cycles of incarceration, poor health, and poverty.” The group takes credit for helping eliminate an estimated 5,000 years of prison time since 2018, demonstrating its deep involvement in preventing deportations and legal consequences for criminals, including illegal alien gang members.

This connection raises a major ethical red flag. The Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges states that judges must disqualify themselves from cases where their impartiality could be questioned. Specifically, it states that a judge should step aside when a close family member has an interest that could be substantially affected by the outcome of the proceeding. In this case, Judge Boasberg’s ruling to block deportations directly benefits his daughter’s employer, an organization that depends on defending illegal immigrants to sustain its funding and mission.

Loomer also revealed that Emily Galvin-Almanza, the founder of Partners for Justice, has been outspoken against anti-gang laws and deportation efforts. In the past, Galvin-Almanza has argued that laws cracking down on gangs unfairly target Black and Hispanic criminals and should be repealed. She even claimed that deporting Tren de Aragua gang members is a form of racial discrimination. She tweeted an article celebrating Boasberg’s decision and has publicly criticized Trump’s immigration policies. This means that the very person employing Katherine Boasberg—the judge’s daughter—is a leading voice in the movement against deporting criminal illegal aliens.

 
Shortly after Loomer exposed this conflict of interest, Katherine Boasberg deleted her LinkedIn and Instagram accounts, an attempt to scrub her connections from public view. If there was nothing to hide, why take such drastic action? The consequences of Judge Boasberg’s ruling are serious. Tren de Aragua is one of the most violent criminal organizations operating in the United States. Originally from Venezuela, the gang has expanded across Latin America and is now deeply involved in human trafficking, drug smuggling, and violent crime in American cities. By blocking their deportation, Boasberg is allowing dangerous criminals to remain in the country, putting innocent people at risk.

Meanwhile, Partners for Justice continues to benefit. The group thrives on keeping illegal immigrants and criminals inside the United States, ensuring a steady stream of clients and justification for continued government funding. If violent criminals were deported, PFJ’s caseload and financial support would shrink. This creates a clear financial incentive for the judge’s daughter and her employer to keep illegal alien criminals on U.S. soil.
