Trump took it in stride. At first you want to believe this was simply a clumsy accident. Now I don’t think it was. Uri Berliner was an editor at NPR for twenty years and penned an editorial critical of it.
Berliner said that “those who listen to NPR or read its coverage online” are getting “the distilled worldview of a very small segment of the U.S. population.”
“An open-minded spirit no longer exists within NPR, and now, predictably, we don’t have an audience that reflects America,” Berliner wrote. “That wouldn’t be a problem for an openly polemical news outlet serving a niche audience. But for NPR, which purports to consider all things, it’s devastating both for its journalism and its business model.”
The veteran journalist argued in his editorial that NPR’s coverage of Trump contributed to the broadcaster’s reputation of leaning left politically.
“But what began as tough, straightforward coverage of a belligerent, truth-impaired president veered toward efforts to damage or topple Trump’s presidency,” he wrote.
Trump has been aware of this for a long time but now is in a position to carry it out slashing its budget.
Republicans lawmakers are renewing efforts to gut federal funding to NPR and PBS amid the Trump administration’s upheaval of the federal bureaucracy.
Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., is leading a bill in the House of Representatives that would halt taxpayer dollars from going to either media broadcaster and reroute existing federal funds to reducing the national debt, according to legislative text previewed by Fox News Digital.
“As a former newspaper owner and publisher, I understand the vital role of balanced, non-partisan media. Unfortunately, these taxpayer-funded outlets have chosen advocacy over accuracy, using public dollars to promote a political agenda rather than report the facts,” Tenney told Fox News Digital.

I think the bop on the face was an intentional act. The opportunity to stick it to Trump came up and she took it. It becomes a bit frightening when you remember that poison can be easily introduced in this manner. She should be kept far away from Trump.
BTW, Kurtzleben is German in origin and translates to “short life.”
