I admit I didn’t bother to read the post, but I have a feeling that the total agreement we share over the headline quickly dissolves in the article itself.

Hmmm… was there some event that involved Israel and Gaza in late 2023 that might have led to this Israeli invasion? Or as Ilian “Brofo” Omar might say, “Something happened”?

How the “Subversive Genius” of Kendrick Lamar Sent Trump Home a Loser
Ah, I haven’t written about anything by The Nation’s resident sports scold, David Zirin, in a while. Short summary, Zirin claims that Trump backed the Chiefs because of their QB Patrick Mahones’ MAGA wife. Between the Chiefs getting crushed and Lamar’s apparently racially charged halftime show Trump was sent running for the exits early before the end of the game. Now here’s what actually happened:
Trump probably was pulling for the Chiefs, as suggested by a tweet sent after the AFC Championship game where he heaped praise on the Chiefs and some on the Bills. That was it, and it wasn’t as if President Trump showed up wearing a Chiefs jersey. I actually watched Lamar’s halftime show on replay (On 7plus, a free streaming service, but only available in Australia. Or if you have a VPN). I read and watched a lot of online praise and criticism, while I was just unimpressed. Most people panned it as boring with no appeal outside of hip hop fans. I saw where a few race hustlers heaped praise for Lamar’s apparently racially charged lyrics. Personally, I was also bored. I couldn’t understand a word that Lamar was saying, and his set was so uninspiring that they had to have a Netflix-inspired race-swapped Uncle Sam played by Samuel L. Jackson shouting out between songs. While the music did nothing for me, I did like the American flag themed choreography. Between Lamar and Jackson this was the first display of the flag by Lefties that I’ve seen in years that wasn’t disrespectful. Unless you count the lyrics. Regardless, I’m ready to take any display of Old Glory by Dems that doesn’t involve fecal matter or flames as a victory. Baby streps.
As for Trump’s early exit? Zirin always comes off like the Lefty forced to write about Sportsball but has never attended a game. Unlike many who attended, Donald Trump did not have Monday off. In fact, he did quite a bit at work the next day. Also, anyone who’s ever been to a major sports event knows how long it takes to get out at the end of the game. Imagine the shrieking headlines if the presidential security detail closed off various hallways, exit points, and streets, while stopping up fans trying to get out and enjoy Bourbon Street.
Yeah, this was too long for these roundups, but not long enough for its own post & I had to get that out.

As you might guess, most of the article is saying that Dems didn’t do an effective job of communicating how much they hate America. To his credit, he indirectly stumbles into a point I’ve raised many times: “The danger of building coalitions based on identity politics is that eventually your allies run out of other people to hate.”

So, expending obscene amounts of money to present something incomprehensible is “genius”? I think Trump had better things to do that sit through that massacre. Like with most things, maybe Trump predicted the outcome accurately and didn’t see the point in sitting through it.
How does a “non-profit” sit on $35 billion? What function does that nest egg serve? THEY should be paying for the worthless degrees the sell, if anyone does (but it should really be the loan signatory).
“Gender affirming care” for children is therapy. “It seems like everyone was on my side” could be the problem; you hang out with too many mentally ill people. Once you reach adulthood and have the means, you can do whatever you want, but remember, there’s one thing drugs and surgery cannot change: REALITY. I can soak myself in gasoline and wrap myself in fireworks, but if I take a walk out into a yard full of burning Tiki torches, I put MYSELF in danger by my own decisions. No one else is obligated to change their behavior based on my stupidity.
Maybe if he or his neighbors (or both) were shouting “DEATH TO ISRAEL” it would have been wiser to move out of a war zone, or at least send your son away, if you cared whether he was obliterated or not. You MIGHT have Hamas for neighbors.
The problem with the Democrat party is that everything the Republican party is doing is wildly popular with the majority of citizens. All they have to resort to is inventing scenarios with which to incite hatred and division, but that is beginning to lack effect. The reality is too strong and is overcoming the propaganda. They have yet to develop a counterargument to seeking out and destroying fraud, theft, corruption and waste of taxpayer funds. The fact that they have built their entire value upon countering whatever Trump does has boxed them into an inescapable corner. These articles bear this out; they are not anchored in reality.
Well, there’s her first problem. That’s Al Green/Jasmine Crocket territory: Stupid Central. She has not, apparently, studied any ACTUAL book bans or she would know what one actually is. When I was in school (the 60’s), I couldn’t check Catcher in the Rye or Catch 22 out of the school library (they had naughty words in them), but I still read them. By the same token, Hustler wasn’t available in the school library, either.
