Now you might be wondering why I’m writing on a topic I generally don’t cover and haven’t written on in (checks notes) almost nine years, a good start would be to explain why choose not to. For starters, as issues go abortion simply is not at the top of my list and there are only so many hours in the day. More significantly, so much has been said and people’s opinions are so strong on this topic that there is nothing significant I can contribute to the conversation. So it takes a unique angle for me to weigh in,
To drop a few brief points before I get to mine, Republicans have to go on the attack with this issue. No, abortion isn’t #1 with voters, but they can be surgical in outreach to expose The Radical Left’s extremism on this issue. I’ve only dedicated three of my now over 900 blog posts (yes, really!) to this topic. To recap, first off I extend a hand to the Lefties for some honest dialog on The Science (TM):
Here is How the Pro-Choice Crowd Can Win the Debate Once and for All… Or Forever Shut Up
I also asked where the Animal Rights Activists were regarding the suffering of living animals?

And finally, given its attachment to The Right to life March, I weighed in on The Covington Crucifixion:

Not mine, but this post sparked an idea in my head about fetal viability (#2 in the post):
This raises an interesting question about keeping a potentially viable baby alive.
And while I can’t find the link to the exact story, one of the stories over the last few months was about pro life protesters getting sentenced for the heinous act of… praying outside an abortion mill. The one detail in the post that caught my eye was that the patient going into the abortion mill was having contractions.
WAIT! WTF?!? The woman was having contractions, as in, about to give birth! And she needed to have the baby aborted?!? And then it struck me, and it was so danged simple it completely flew under my radar:
With all of the improvements in healthcare, why does a viable baby who can survive need to be killed? Even if a woman doesn’t want to give conventional birth, what about a c-section? While it’s been a while, years back I did some research trying to find out what the cost of adoption is. I didn’t get a definitive answer, but landed with it costing around $80,000. (Copulate) me if I’m wrong, but this sounds like a case of demand vastly outstripping supply.
Maybe if we put as much effort into birthing our next generation as we do into destroying it maybe it wouldn’t be necessary to try to import millions to replace it?
But whether or not a woman wants to be a mother to her unborn child, the far more important question to ask is why the baby needs to be killed.

Most liberals/dems contend that “abortion” means merely ending a pregnancy rather than killing a baby.
They can’t even get to your question because they reject its premise.
They have source material on their side, too.

That’s my point; the left can’t discuss abortion without trying to sanitize it. They KNOW it’s barbaric.
I’m not sure they know it’s barbaric. I think many of them simply choose to not believe the obvious. Case in poiint:

Sadly, this is perfectly illustrates why the “expert” class is being rightly rejected as a whole. The mask really came off with The Fauci Flu and won’t be improving any time soon.
This isn’t the last column of the year. It is the last one before Christmas. But you’ll have me to kick around a couple more times before 2023 finally goes away.
Ok brother Biden, 2023? Shall we speak f the significance of time passing? Or just let this be free of what has been?
As Larry Elder said so well, “Even before the dementia, Biden* was just plain dumb”
How many Demo-Rats Support Abortion while having thousands of acres of Timberland made off limits to logging to save the Pine Marten?
I’ve made my position clear. I don’t like abortion as a form of birth control, but that’s none of my business. I understand the rape/incest exception. Beyond medical emergencies, there should be no abortion past 20 weeks.
The entire argument the left has in favor of abortion is based on lies. The overwhelming majority favor restrictions on abortion and only support the Democrat position when the lies about bans. Either Democrats want this to be a perpetual issue, like illegal immigration, or they demand there be NO restrictions to abortion and whenever one is wanted (not needed).
My view is about the most liberal of anyone I personally know or any relatives. The vast majority of the WOMEN I know object to abortion at any time. I don’t claim this is a cross section of the nation, but I do think it is representative somewhat. Very few support this notion of abortion on demand in the 9th month. Yet Democrats will not let go of that “right”.
I used to argue here with Greg, who could not admit that there was, logically, a period in a pregnancy at which whatever you call that “clump of cells” becomes a viable human being and beyond which terminating it on demand is murder. That would be a game changer. Another guy on another site tried to conflate abortion and self defense, because it it’s OK to kill someone in self defense, how can it be wrong to terminate a viable baby because its existence would be an inconvenience? The left cannot be honest about their support for abortion because it is despicable. As I’ve said, it’s not a right, it’s a “rite”.
I am so stealing that one!
I’m honored.
