Kamala makes hurricane disaster about herself and gets slammed by a Category 5 Ron DeSantis

Kamala Harris is slipping, and she knows it. As we’ve noted, she is on a media blitz trying to stem the bleeding, but her problem is that she is her own worst enemy.  Her decisions are so stupid she is clearly making them on her own.

She chose to wine and dine with big time donors on the west coast as hurricane Helene slammed Florida. After taking flak for it, she decided she would inject herself into the disaster business with Milton on the way and put in a call to Gov Ron DeSantis.

He wouldn’t take her call, or perhaps someone didn’t take her call.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not taking calls from Vice President Kamala Harris about storm recovery just over a week after Hurricane Helene hammered parts of his state.

A source familiar with the situation said he was dodging the Democratic presidential nominee’s calls because they “seemed political,” according to a DeSantis aide.

“Kamala was trying to reach out, and we didn’t answer,” the DeSantis aide told NBC News.

Someone in the White House wanted the media knew about the calls.

Harris did not dispute NBC News‘ reporting Monday that DeSantis had dodged her calls about storm recovery just over a week after Hurricane Helene devastated parts of Florida. CNN, citing a White House official, also reported that Harris had reached out to the governor multiple times since the hurricane made landfall, but that her team has yet to receive a response from DeSantis.

Harris also wanted to make sure the media knew she was indignant about it and lit into DeSantis:

Vice President Kamala Harris chastised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for “playing political games,” following reports that DeSantis did not take the vice president’s calls regarding hurricane relief.

“You know, moments of crisis, if nothing else, should really be the moment that anyone who calls themselves a leader says they’re gonna put politics aside and put the people first,” Harris told reporters gathered at Joint Base Andrew in Maryland as she departed for New York Monday.

“People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations – these are the height of emergency situations – is just utterly irresponsible,” Harris continued. “It is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first.”

She made it all about herself. Big mistake. Stupid mistake. As if talking to her was going to make the lives of the people in danger any better.

DeSantis let her have it

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis OBLITERATES Kamala Harris on her political games surrounding Milton and hurricane response.

DeSantis made clear that he, and not FEMA is in command of relief efforts

Biden stuck the knife into Harris with his praise of DeSantis

Over at CNN, Scott Jennings (who might singlehandedly save CNN) pointed out her foolish antics

“In all of your public communications, no matter what you’re doing, you have to always show that American people that you have their fellow citizens in your heart,” Jennings said. “This is the kind of historic storm that some people aren’t gonna survive it, there’s gonna be widespread property devastation, you have to just show the empathy that people would expect out of the American president. I think that’s campaign communications number one. Number two, what she can’t do is try to insert politics into this, and I think, honestly, when Kamala Harris attacked Ron DeSantis as he was preparing for this hurricane, that was a huge campaign mistake for her. She should not have done that, Biden came out and corrected the record, saying he and DeSantis are working well together. That was the proper response,” Jennings continued.

This was a colossally stupid move by Harris. JD Vance was right when he said every time she opens her mouth Donald Trump gets another 100,000 votes. The best thing that could happen to Trump is for her to keep talking and doing these puff interviews with puff interviewers. Harris clearly thinks everything is about her.

It isn’t. Harris as President would be another natural disaster.

So is Florida going to see anything from FEMA is is it all going to Illegal Aliens/Future Democrat Voters and Supporters?

Yes.

Could you imagine having to talk to her if she really did call? We have all heard Harris’ word salads. When you are dealing with a disaster, do you really want to waste 5 or 10 minutes of your time listening to a dimwit talk a lot but say nothing? To quote some random Black woman who is a lot smarter than Kamala Harris, “Ain’t nobody got time for that”.

UP FRONT DISLCAIMER
I voted for Ronny 9 times! Clearly have a Ron bias; and admit it!

Ron was my close 2nd to Don.

Now he and Vance are tied!
Either -IMHO -would be much better than any President since Ronny; excluding Don; who was a distant 2nd to Ronny..

Well, it was a stupid move by Kamala vis a vie the general thinking public, but for her shrinking, non-critical, unthinking base, it resonates. How DARE DeSantis not take stop dealing with a massive oncoming storm and with the aftermath of a previous storm and take a call from an historic candidate! It doesn’t matter if cackling and talking about a fabricated middle class background doesn’t add value to the situation; it’s MAMALA!!

Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear she even called… or called the correct number. So, once again, SHE accused DeSantis of doing what SHE was actually doing: turning a tragic disaster into something to exploit politically.

kamala kept looking until she found a black dem mayor in FLA who would take her call:

This afternoon, I spoke with @MayorKenWelch. I let him know: Our Administration stands with the people of St. Petersburg as they prepare for Hurricane Milton, and we will be with them as long as it takes to recover. pic.twitter.com/TdcH2l0GgZ

Understandably, people were disgusted:

“Hi, Mayor, I know you’re busy with the hurricane and everything. Do you have a minute to film a campaign commercial?” https://t.co/inmGvdTS7g

While former Obama Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency General Michael Flynn laments that hundreds of helicopters from the 82nd Airborne sit idle just hours away, devastated residents of mountainous western North Carolina are now reporting that looting in the cut-off regions is on the rise, for water. No ground water is safe to drink after torrential floods uprooted septic systems, and the stench of dead bodies fills the air.

General Flynn said in an interview three days ago:

“We need a full mobilization right now…if you put me in charge, we would have an entire active duty division, because the active duty division more than the National Guard..the 82nd Airborne has capabilities that can be there in two hours… with large packages of the full compliment of [supplies and equipment.”]

“We have the full ability in this country to take care of them right now.”

Thus far the Harris/Biden administration has activated only limited “elements” of the fabled Ft. Bragg based division.

A Facebook page has been established for people to post information about missing loved ones. Other Twitter projects have started databases to help keep track of missing and their status. Included in the missing are 163 school-age children in one school district alone.
