More on the Trump ambush

 

 

The Trump-Harris debate was rigged. Let’s face it, Donald Trump was ambushed. As I said, Harris had a canned response for every question put to her. She was prepared for them. Trump faced questions designed to embarrass him. The post-debate activity only reinforces the hard truth- ABC News is part of the Harris campaign. Trump was treated harshly and wrongly.

The NY Times and the Time magazine both harpooned Trump for a claim they later were forced to admit was accurate.

NY Times:

The rush to dismiss Trump’s attack on Harris was widespread across the legacy media. Time magazine was forced to issue a correction after declaring his claim as “false.”

“The original version of this story mischaracterized as false Donald Trump’s statement accusing Kamala Harris of supporting ‘transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.’ As a presidential candidate in 2019, Harris filled out a questionnaire saying she supported taxpayer-funded gender transition treatment for detained immigrants,” the Time correction read.

Time:

Though Harris pledged she would support taxpayer-funded gender care for detained migrants in an ACLU candidate questionnaire during her first presidential campaign, Time first reported the statement as “false.”

“The original version of this story mischaracterized as false Donald Trump’s statement accusing Kamala Harris of supporting ‘transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.’ As a presidential candidate in 2019, Harris filled out a questionnaire saying she supported taxpayer-funded gender transition treatment for detained immigrants,” a correction read.

They both stabbed Trump but hey, they pulled out the knives a couple of days afterward, right? Our bad! Sorry!

There was essentially NO factchecking of Harris:

But when Harris made statements that could have been fact-checked, the moderators declined to do so.

Harris said that Trump had threatened there would be a “bloodbath” if he lost the election, and Harris implied that this was a threat of actual political violence; the moderators could have pointed out that Trump was describing the state of the economy under prospective progressive governance. Harris also said there were currently no U.S. military service members in active combat zones; this is flatly untrue, as American troops are currently serving in informal war zones in places like Iraq and Syria.

Then there was bias reflected in the kinds of questions the candidates were asked. Trump was deservedly grilled on his appalling conduct surrounding the 2020–2021 presidential transition, and comments he made about Harris’ race. Meanwhile, Harris fielded zero questions about her complicity in the vast cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline and infirmity. When she declined to give specific reasons for her flip-flopping on fracking—or even concede that she has flip-flopped—the moderators did not follow up.

“Moderator” Linsey Davis whined about how tough it was for her to portray herself as unbiased:

The anchor, who hosts a show on ABC News’ streaming outlet, admitted social media makes her aware of how tough it is as a black woman covering the first black woman to run as a major presidential candidate to stay unbiased.

But the exuberance in the aftermath of the debate is waning. Harris’s campaign has called for a second debate, but Chris Wallace says there’s no chance that Harris would engage a debate on Fox.

“I would say that there is an absolutely 0%, what’s lower than 0, chance that she would agree to debate on Fox,” Wallace said. “Let me tell you a quick story. Back in 2019 when she was running, the president of Fox News and I, who was seen as being pretty even handed, went to meet with a bunch of the Democrats to try and get them to do town halls or do an interview. [Democratic Massachusetts Sen.] Elizabeth Warren met with us, [independent Vermont Sen.] Bernie Sanders met with us, the only Democrat who refused to meet with us off-the-record just to consider the possibility of going on Fox was Kamala Harris. There is a 0% chance that she will agree to an interview on Fox.”

Seems she will appear only within the safe confines of her own network, ABC News. And this is prima facie evidence that she is still an airhead. When she finally did a puff piece interview with ABC, she again resorted to another bowl of word salad.

In her first solo sit-down TV interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris was asked by Philadelphia’s 6 ABC anchor Brian Taff about what “specific” plans she has to bring down prices for Americans.

“Well, I’ll start with this. I grew up a middle-class kid,” Harris responded. “My mother raised my sister and me. She worked very hard. She was able to finally save up enough money to buy our first house when I was a teenager.

“I grew up in a community of hard-working people, you know, construction workers and nurses and teachers. And I try to explain to some people who may not have had the same experience. You know, a lot of people will relate to this.”

“You know, I grew up in a neighborhood of folks who were very proud of their lawn,” she continued. “And I was raised to believe and to know that all people deserve dignity, and that we as Americans have a beautiful character. You know, we have ambitions and aspirations and dreams, but not everyone necessarily has access to the resources that can help them fuel those dreams and ambitions. “

Pride in lawns will bring down prices for Americans. And that’s not all:

‘And also, to be very honest with you, my focus is very much on what we need to do over the next 10, 20 years to catch up to the 21st century around, again, capacity but also challenges.’

Here is another truth: Kamala Harris is helpless and lost when she does not have complete control of her environment. She’s good at derision and facial caricatures and she has the ability to memorize canned responses.

She just can’t think on her own.
