Newly minted VP candidate Tim Walz apparently has something questions to answer. He has made a claim that he served in combat.
Walz has falsely claimed that he had carried a weapon in war. Although he served in the U.S. Army National Guard, Walz never went to war. In fact, when his unit deployed to Iraq, Walz quit the army, abandoning the soldiers in his command.
“I spent 25 years in the Army and I hunt,” Walz said. “I’ve been voting for common sense legislation that protects the Second Amendment, but we can do background checks. We can research the impacts of gun violence. We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war, are only carried in war”
“that I carried in war”
He did no such thing. Now he needs to answer assertions that he is guilty of stolen valor.
Even CNN noticed
“Walz did make a comment, he’s done it a couple times, where he has used language that suggested that he carried weapons in a fighting situation. There is no evidence that any time that he was in the position of being shot at and some of his language could easily be seen to suggest that he was.”
JD Vance also noticed
J.D. Vance fires back at Tim Walz after he mocked him for attending Yale:
“What bothers me about Tim Walz is the stolen valor garbage. Do not pretend to be something you’re not. And if he wants to criticize me for getting an Ivy League education, I’m proud […] I was able to… pic.twitter.com/0qt3waifq2

Some National Guardsmen are unhappy with Walz:
But here’s the truth you won’t hear from the mainstream media: Tim Walz abandoned his men before a combat deployment and he abandoned his city when it was literally on fire.
That’s the kind of leader Tim Walz truly is.
You’re already no doubt hearing about how Walz spent 24 years in the Army National Guard and retired as a command sergeant major. He is fond of referring to himself as the highest-ranking enlisted soldier to serve in Congress.
Here’s the truth: He indeed spent 24 years as an enlisted soldier in the Minnesota National Guard. As far as I can tell, he deployed once to Italy and once to Norway. But when it was finally his turn to deploy in the actual Global War on Terror, Walz instead chose his own aspirations over leadership. In a letter posted to Facebook in 2018, veterans from his unit said Walz retired from the National Guard after learning his battalion would be deployed to Iraq—though he assured his troops he would join them.
Walz would have been the Battalion Command Sergeant Major, the highest-ranking non-commissioned officer and arguably the most important leader in his unit. And in the moment they needed him most, when they were about to deploy to Iraq, Walz chose to abandon his men to run for Congress. According to sources within the unit, three of his soldiers died on that deployment.
Walz has also falsely claimed that he retired as a Command Sergeant Major when he did not.
The Minnesota National Guard confirmed Wednesday that Gov. Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’ vice presidential running mate, was demoted and did not retire as a command sergeant major like he has claimed for years, including on his official gubernatorial biography.
While Walz temporarily held the title of command sergeant major he “retired as a master sergeant in 2005 for benefit purposes because he did not complete additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy,” Army Lt. Col. Kristen Augé, the Minnesota National Guard’s State Public Affairs Officer, told Just the News.
Jordan Schachtel has a great piece on this
Thanks to some quality reporting, we know that the Minnesota governor — who yesterday officially joined the Kamala Harris campaign for President as its VP on the ticket — quit the military in 2005, after learning that his battalion was about to be sent to Iraq. Walz spent his entire career in the Army National Guard learning to lead people into battle, with training and his lone six month overseas deployment to Italy provided at U.S. taxpayer expense. He then retired when he learned he was going to be leading people into battle in Iraq, leaving Minnesota’s 125th Field Artillery Regimen high and dry for a career in politics.
But that’s not what Tim Walz told the public when he decided to run for public office upon abruptly leaving the military.
Just months after leaving his battalion to go to Iraq without him, he announced a run for Congress, and the dissembling about his service record began immediately.
Instead of being honest about his early departure from the military, Walz told the media a much more heroic tale, one that was entirely fictitious.
Do read the whole thing.
Of course, a Harris/Walz surrogate appeared on CNN and tried to smear JD Vance about a lack of service before getting trashed

There must be something to this, as seen in the video below. Rather than address the issue, Walz fled the scene.

Kamala Harris has been dodging the press for 17 days. Now it appears the entire ticket will be doing the same. This issue needs explanation.

DrJohn has been a health care professional for more than 40 years. In addition to clinical practice he has done extensive research and has published widely with over 70 original articles and abstracts in the peer-reviewed literature. DrJohn is well known in his field and has lectured on every continent except for Antarctica. He has been married to the same wonderful lady for over 45 years and has three kids- two sons, both of whom are attorneys and one daughter who is in the field of education.
DrJohn was brought up with the concept that one can do well if one is prepared to work hard but nothing in life is guaranteed.
Except for liberals being foolish.
I wonder why politicians try this chickenshit crap when the facts are so easily confirmed. I can remember back when W was running and the left regarded the National Guard as dodging service. I guess when that is a Democrat’s branch, it’s more heroic, even if one draws the line when actually about to be deployed to a hot zone.
Walz is a lying, valor-stealing scumbag that will not have the guts to face Vance in a debate, just as Kamala is too gutless to face Trump. She says she will stack her “record” up against Trump’s anytime, any place. Except, I guess, on Fox September 4th. But, any OTHER time…
