The IOC should next add wife-beating as an Olympic sport

Usually, men beating women is considered illegal. Not so in the Olympics.

After pugilism training for most of her adult life to compete in the Olympics, she stepped into the ring to face a man.

She was getting beaten so badly she quit the match at 45 seconds. She was boxing a mentally ill man, and Algerian named Imane Khelif, who makes believe he is a woman. He is two inches taller, has a greater reach and packs a far more powerful punch. I’ve heard it claimed that a man’s punch is 162% more powerful than that of a woman.

Though it doesn’t detail the exact nature of these assessments, it is this test that Khelif and Lin failed last year at the IAB’s Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi.

At the time IBA president, Umar Kremlev, claimed the tests had proven both Khelif and Lin ‘had XY chromosomes’.

He added that they ‘uncovered athletes who were trying to fool their colleagues and pretend to be women’.

But the IOC decided to dump the rules

Under these same rules and test results Khelif and Lin wouldn’t be able to compete this Olympics, but the IAB was stripped of its role in governing the sport for the Paris games by the IOC due to problems with the latter’s governance.

The IOC created via a new body, the Paris Boxing Unit (PBU), to determine eligibility for competitors.

Documents from the PBU make no mention of gender or sex testing for male or female events, though they do set limits for the age of competitors, a passport being an acceptable ID for athletes and requiring boxers in the women’s category to declare if they are pregnant.

This is absolutely insane. Women are already being severely injured as a consequence of this idiocy.

A volleyball player left partially paralyzed by a transgender opponent has slammed the Olympics over its boxing controversy.

Payton McNabb was 17 when a ball spiked by a trans opponent with force struck her in the face, threw her to the ground and shut off her consciousness. The 5ft 11in trans player cackled in delight, Ms McNabb said, after sending her to the floor. As did other players in the opposite team.

Ms McNabb was left with brain damage and paralysis on her right side, which ended her dreams of getting a volleyball college scholarship and has made it difficult to walk without falling. She told DailyMail.com it was ‘disgusting’ that two boxers who failed gender tests had been cleared to fight women at this year’s Games in Paris.

In any sane world does this look fair?

I’ve said this before: XY should compete with XY and XX with XX. Regardless of diagnosed conditions. Period.

Perhaps this can open the door for new Olympic events such as wife-beating with another division for girlfriend beating.

And in the open division I’d like to see Evander Holyfield box Joy Behar.
