Russiagate 2: The FBI, together with democrats, sets up the House Oversight Committee.

In what can only be described as incredible timing, Special Counsel David Weiss (who quashed the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 and who tried to finagle an agreement to allow Hunter Biden amnesty and freedom from all future prosecutions) announced an indictment of long time FBI confidential informant Alexander Smirnov.

Special counsel David Weiss has indicted an FBI confidential source who provided derogatory information about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden on felony false statement and obstruction charges.

Weiss indicted Alexander Smirnov, 43, on one count of making a false statement and one count of creating a false and fictitious record related to statements he made to the FBI on a document known as an FBI Form 1023.

After months of refusing to confirm its existence, the memo was confirmed by FBI Director Christopher Wray

Washington — GOP Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, the chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, said in a statement Wednesday that FBI Director Christopher Wray confirmed “the existence of an unclassified record that contains reporting of an alleged bribery scheme related to then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.”

That FB 1023 was cited by the House Oversight in its consideration of a Biden impeachment. This was immediately seized upon democrats who demanded an end to the impeachment inquiry.

And most of all from the House democrats’ designated liar, Jamie Raskin

“In a detailed indictment, Special Counsel David Weiss – who was appointed by former President Donald Trump – has demonstrated how key evidence at the heart of House Republicans‘ impeachment inquiry is based on a lie,”

Smirnov was a long-time paid FBI confidential informant who was described as “very dependable.” Smirnov was also endorsed by that same Jamie Raskin just last year.

Both Comer and Raskin agreed that the information came from a highly credible paid source the FBI has relied on for years.

Raskin would go on to lie about the investigation and got slapped down:

Raskin just got called out for lying about a trusted FBI informant’s allegations that Joe Biden accepted a $5 million bribe while serving as vice president.

The FBI closed the case years ago, he claimed after a confidential briefing by the bureau’s chief.

Specifically, Raskin insisted that then-US Attorney General Bill Barr “determined there was no grounds to escalate from an initial assessment to a preliminary investigation” and “called an end” to any probe because there was no suspicion of “criminal activity.”

Oops: “It’s not true,” Barr soon announced.

“It wasn’t closed down. On the contrary, it was sent to Delaware for further investigation.”

An honest Raskin mistake?

No: He reportedly was told several times in the FBI briefing that the case is still open.

Yet he’s holding firm, insisting with sociopathic fervor that, no, his lie is actually true.

If there is fault in regard to the FBI informant and his information to be assigned, it belongs to the FBI who worked with the informant Smirnov for a long time and let it be known that Smirnov was considered highly credible. Or maybe that was all done for a reason.

Something about this absolutely stinks. One might be tempted to think that David Weiss, who always had all the power he needed to indict Hunter Biden, asked to be Special Counsel for more than one reason, that being able to impeach Smirnov and try to torpedo the Oversight Committee Impeachment Inquiry following the impeachment of the witness.

Was this all by design? The cynic in me says yes, it’s all part of Russiagate II. The FBI and CIA already conspired against Trump.

It worked, so why not do it again?
