Iran taunts the paper tiger

Why are we responding so timidly to Iranian-backed attacks on US bases?

As of this morning, there have been 48 attacks on US bases in the Middle East according to Fox News. On those attacks, tens of American servicemen have suffered traumatic brain injuries. Nineteen were reported in a Politico article while Fox News yesterday reported that the number now stood at 25.

In response the might US, led by a laughable old codger, has conducted two pathetic pinprick strikes.

MacCallum countered that many Americans believe the administration has not done enough to dissuade Iran from attacking U.S. installations and service members:

“You’re a military man. What do you say to the members of our U.S. services? They are watching this incoming: You’ve got a couple of people who’ve suffered traumatic brain injuries and others who have been injured,” she said.

“When you’re telling them – don’t fight back, Just sit there. You’re telling them, you know, just sit tight at this moment and take it?”

Kirby began to reply that the U.S. has retaliated with strikes of its own, to which MacCallum interjected that many experts see such return-fire as strategically pointless.

“With all due respect John, I’ve talked to military experts who say that retaliation is completely inconsequential; that Iran needs to be hit in a way that means something to them; their command and control centers, which we know where they are,” MacCallum said.

WHY?

After an American contractor was killed and several troops were injured in late December 2019, President Donald Trump ordered a drone strike on Qassem al-Soleimani, which took place on January 2, 2020. Soleimani was the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Quds Force unit and supplied Iraqi insurgents with the IED’s that led to the deaths and maiming of thousands of American troops.

Iran was quiet after that.

Sandwiching Trump were Obama and Biden who have done nothing but kiss Ayatollah ass.

The scuttlebutt after the Soleimani raid was that Trump made clear to Iran that if the attacks continued another very high value target would be neutralized. Biden’s obsequiousness to Iran – freeing assets, lifting sanctions, allowing Iran to sell oil – has sent Iran the signal that Joe Biden’s US is today a paper tiger. Iran has asserted that expansion of the Middle East conflict is “inevitable.”

Good synopsis.

We HAVEN’T been responding timidly. We conducted airstrikes against Iranian weapons depots in Syria 3 days ago. Do you want open war with Iran? Direct confrontation with Putin would follow in the blink of an eye. We have two carrier attack groups positioned in the Mediterranean. These are not the tools of an impotent “paper tiger”.

This is pure MAGA schizophrenia. Whether they want war or not depends entirely on what position they must take to oppose Biden and promote Trump—a man who was the greatest American geopolitical f*ck-up in recent history. To find anything similar, you’d have to go all the way back to the preceding republican administration, which empowered Iran by removing it’s greatest geopolitical adversary at U.S. taxpayer expense. They did so after being warned ahead of time by the US intelligence community what the likely result would be.

Why are we responding so timidly to Iranian-backed attacks on US bases?

You’re a bad liar, Comrade Meathead.

Where did I lie? In your case, personal insults and accusations are a penny per dozen. You need to back your pronouncements up with intelligent argument if you expect to be taken seriously.

All lies.

I guess you have forgotten that the Ukraine/Russia fiasco started under Obama. I guess you refuse to acknowledge Obama sent a plane load of dollars to Iran. I guess you don’t understand that Joe Biden is by far, the worst president in modern times.

So either you are stupid, mentally ill or a liar. Probably all three.

Nope. All true. Trump’s geopolitical strategies were works of stunning incompetence. The first thing the idiot did was purge the State Department of everyone with any practical experience, replacing them with his stooges.

Tsk, tsk. You really do have terminal TDS. Years on, Trump still rules in your brain with no other figure in sight. A darkly humorous brainwash. You’d laugh, too, if you could escape it.

I can’t always tell which cult clone I’m talking to, with all of the local sock puppetry, but usually recognize a familiar syntax after two or three posts.

Wow then peace broke out….Biden brings sloppy seconds from Barry look at the mess.
A phone call exposed how the Department of State was running its agenda, well Soros agenda. He did not clean out enough of the lucifarian war mongers.

Wrong, yet again. There’s no money in attempting to cure victims of wokeness. T

They were sheds, Greg.
There were no weapons in them or there would have been secondary explosions.
None were seen.
So, like Obama did when he warned ISIS (he called them ISIL out of deep respect for Islam) he was going to be forced to bomb their roads with their stolen Toyota trucks on them, just worthless stuff, no leaders, not even any fighters.
The attacks on American forces are continuing. Four more within the three days since the sheds got hit.

Ammunition explodes. The weapons that fire or carry it don’t. My guess is that we hit a storage site housing Iranian-made drones, as that’s what Iranian-back militias have been attacking our military personnel with.

For basic decency’s sake don’t say ‘We’. Try to put us down as hard as you like–we expect that from suckers who promote Open Borders, Transgenderism, Islamophilia etc.. But–Please!–don’t pair us off with yourself by saying ‘We’.

If you’ve separated yourselves in your mind from the greater American “We”, that might be your problem.

Now there have been nine more attacks on our military since hitting those sheds.
IF your GUESS were right, it didn’t deter or even slow down a thing.
If the guess of military people is correct that the sheds were empty, it makes sense because it acted as NO deterrent.

it’s timid response. The US is acting like the weak, timorous power–careful not to offend the creeps ‘too much’ instead of strongly indicating it’s not going to put up with their nonsense. Problem for you is, you can’t imagine that the enemy has any weaknesses that can be exploited. For types like you they’re all powerful, to be tiptoed around. Presumably you’re so far gone you didn’t mind Barry transferring that shipment of cash to Iran in the dead of night, Biden giving billions to the Afghans and Iran but go to bed each night with TDS dancing around in your head. it’s fair to wonder if you even have about your gender right. Full of vague, hysterical feelings against only Trump.

Uh huh. Tell me how we haven’t complicated Putin’s plans. Tell me how his aggression isn’t any of our business. And then try to tell me we haven’t had Israel’s back, and I’ll point out what a load of inconsistent bullshit your comments are.

Trump can go to hell.

You will learn that Comrade Greggie cannot accept that Obama was anything less than THE GREATEST PRESIDENT EVAH!!!!!

I asked him about the billions of cash Obama shipped to Iran in the dead of night and he insisted that never happed. He is habitually prefaces his statements with “might have been, could have been, I suspect, probably, my guess” and other forms of evasion. Misrepresentation is his forte.

Comrade Greggie, along with his buttbuddy, Michael, are FA’s resident clowns.

Comrade Greggie, along with his buttbuddy, Michael, are FA’s resident clowns.

Both are a complete comedic clown show. Neither has a firm grip on reality. But, the represent a small minority of thinking, a sad group of whiffenpoofs.

Good point.
On Friday, a U.S. military aircraft in the eastern Mediterranean went down.
The crash’s impact on U.S. military operations in the region or any potential implications for the ongoing tensions and military activities in the eastern Mediterranean are yet to be determined.
The Pentagon deployed over 17,200 military personnel from the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in the eastern Mediterranean area.
That was a high value target.
I wonder what joe will do about it?
Oh, have it called a “mishap.”
https://www.eucom.mil/article/42556/statement-us-military-aircraft-mishap-in-eastern-mediterranean

There’s nothing he can do about it. 17,200 military personnel in a state of war readiness is an inherently dangerous situation. Elevated danger to personnel and equipment goes with the territory. Anyone who has been stationed in or near an active war zone knows this.

Biden is doing a delicate and precarious geopolitical balancing act, knowing that world events could spin out of control at any moment. Trump and his supporters are shaking the wire at every possible opportunity, hoping he falls, not really giving a damn about anything but political advantage. “And that’s the way it is,” as Walter Cronkite used to say.

I wonder what joe will do about it?

You don’t know what was in the destroyed targets, do you? You’re scoring cheap political propaganda points by exploiting the fact that the targets were non-descript and inconspicuous, without any obvious military or symbolic value, and that the military is only providing minimal details. In fact, all of that should be telling you something.

I’m guessing the targets were suspected storage facilities for Iranian drone components. The Iranian drones used in all of the recent attacks on US personnel are sure as hell being stored somewhere inside Syria, and those locations are sure as hell non-descript, inconspicuous, and without obvious military value.

If the destroyed targets were drone storage facilities, a message was sure as hell sent—without the advance courtesy calls Trump made ahead of US retaliatory missile strikes. Nor was the message merely symbolic.

This also suggest that the current administration is far more careful about protecting our intelligence sources than the previous administration ever was—though it’s possible that drone storage locations were deduced from analysis of high altitude and satellite surveillance data. AI software is probably being used to recognize subtle patterns in huge volumes of data that human analysts could otherwise miss.

It’s hard to boil all of that down into a low-brow political propaganda point, but that’s not what the military or competent civilian leadership are most worried about. They’re dealing with real world threats and real world responses to them.

Keep poking the Eagle, Pea-Brain and see what happens

Just adding this, we might not be right on assuming when we have no proof of why they wait.

The thing would be to nit a moderately important target that could freeze a portion of their military or other important industries that they think we don’t know about. Maybe with a bit of pyrotechnic overkill.

Years ago Israel sure slowed Iran down for a good long time.
They used a supersonic, non-explosive lance on the sleeping quarters (deep underground) of all of Iran’s foreign and domestic nuclear scientists working on their bomb.
Killed all of them.
Seemed like a sudden, large earthquake that was localized in one small area.
Nearby buildings didn’t even collapse.
And because Iran couldn’t admit to even having nuclear bomb experts, they couldn’t even say they knew it was an attack.

The US could do something like that IF joe wanted to, but he’s too friendly with Iran.

12/25/23 – Biden orders strike on Iranian-aligned group after 3 US troops injured in drone attack in Iraq

President Joe Biden ordered the U.S. military to carry out retaliatory airstrikes against Iranian-backed militia groups after three U.S. servicemembers were injured in a drone attack in northern Iraq.

National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said one of the U.S. troops suffered critical injuries in the attack that occurred earlier Monday. The Iranian-backed militia Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups, under an umbrella of Iranian-backed militants, claimed credit for the attack that utilized a one-way attack drone

Biden, who is spending Christmas at the presidential retreat at Camp David, Maryland, was alerted about the attack by White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan shortly after it occurred on Monday and ordered the Pentagon and his top national security aides to prepare response options to the attack on an air base used by American troops in Erbil.

Sullivan consulted with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. Biden’s deputy national security adviser, Jon Finer, was with the president at Camp David and convened top aides to review options, according to a U.S. official, who was not authorized to comment publicly and requested anonymity.

Within hours, Biden convened his national security team for a call in which Austin and Gen. CQ Brown, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, briefed Biden on the response options. Biden opted to target three locations used by Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups, the official said.

The U.S. strikes were carried out at about 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday in Iraq, less than 13 hours after the U.S. personnel were attacked. According to U.S. Central Command, the retaliatory strikes on the three sites, “destroyed the targeted facilities and likely killed a number of Kataib Hezbollah militants.”

“The President places no higher priority than the protection of American personnel serving in harm’s way,” Watson said. “The United States will act at a time and in a manner of our choosing should these attacks continue.”

The latest attack on U.S. troops follows months of escalating threats and actions against American forces in the region since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel that sparked the devastating war in Gaza.

The dangerous back-and-forth strikes have escalated since Iranian-backed militant groups under the umbrella group called the Islamic Resistance in Iraq and Syria began striking U.S. facilities Oct. 17, the date that a blast at a hospital in Gaza killed hundreds. Iranian-backed militias have carried out dozens of attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria since the start of the Israel-Hamas war more than two months ago.

Last month, U.S. fighter jets struck a Kataib Hezbollah operations center and command and control node, following a short-range ballistic missile attack on U.S. forces at Al-Assad Air Base in western Iraq. Iranian-backed militias also carried out a drone attack at the same air base in October, causing minor injuries.

The U.S. has also blamed Iran, which has funded and trained Hamas, for attacks by Yemen’s Houthi militants against commercial and military vessels through a critical shipping choke point in the Red Sea.

The Biden administration has sought to prevent the Israel-Hamas war from spiraling into a wider regional conflict that either opens up new fronts of Israeli fighting or that draws the U.S. in directly. The administration’s measured response — where not every attempt on American troops has been met with a counterattack — has drawn criticism from Republicans.

Of course it has “drawn criticism”. Nothing President Biden says or does—or doesn’t say or do—won’t draw criticism from Trump’s GOP.

The U.S. has thousands of troops in Iraq training Iraqi forces and combating remnants of the Islamic State group, and hundreds in Syria, mostly on the counter-IS mission. They have come under dozens of attacks, though as yet none fatal, since the war began on Oct. 7, with the U.S. attributing responsibility to Iran-backed groups.

“While we do not seek to escalate conflict in the region, we are committed and fully prepared to take further necessary measures to protect our people and our facilities,” Austin said in a statement.

“The United States will act at a time and in a manner of our choosing should these attacks continue.”

That’s what they said 102 attacks ago. It appears our enemies have Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden for the incompetent, weak, corrupt, treasonous pedophile he is. Instead of continuing to fund and support the primary promoter of the international terrorism, Iran, he should be returning the harsh sanctions Trump had on Iran, and adding more. He should be insisting the UN, instead of criticizing Israel for defending themselves, place world-wide sanctions on Iran. Iran should be hit and hit hard.

What a gutless embarrassment.
