Beijing, Beijing, Here We Come!

Recently, the State Department announced that they were backing off the idea of boycotting the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022. Apparently, China threatened to smack the U.S. upside the head, give us a wedgie and then steal our lunch.
 
WOW, that escalated quickly. Can you imagine China threatening Trump? Trump would have told them to shove their Olympics and then he would have organized a new set of competitive events in Taiwan-bigger and better and huge.
 
Boom, mike drop.
 
Noooo! We didn’t want a strong leader who would be respected by the world because Trump sent out mean tweets that annoyed liberals. Instead, we got Biden/Harris hiding behind a curtain in the Oval Office and pretending that they are actually are steering the ship of state. Other countries who depended upon our protection and leadership are now painfully aware that the America they once loved is now on life support. It is getting so bad so quickly that we can’t even enforce our own southern border. In a fun game of hot potatoes, Joe put Kamala in charge of the border. Kamala thought about that scenario long and hard and said, “Yeah, I don’t think so bucko,” and then started laughing maniacally. Bibbidy-bobbidi-boo, no one is in charge at the zoo. Sadly, the tsunami of poor, desperate, immigrants pouring into our country is ignored as long as the compliant press looks the other way. Crisis? What crisis? We don’t see no stinkin crisis! Ignore the two little innocent girls thrown over the fence like garbage. They’ll be just fine-the ground broke their fall.
 



 
Other countries standing around our bedside in the Critical Care Unit are now coming to the realization that America now resembles the Titanic, after it hit the iceberg. That didn’t end well. Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam and India are now facing a menacing 500 pound gorilla in the region, pushing weaker countries aside and threatening their existence on the planet. Last month, the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken met with Chinese representatives to hash out our differences. In a bold move, the United States sent a dude with a plastic knife to a gun battle. Custer’s last stand was more cordial than this historic encounter. Blinken called China a bunch of mean poopy heads and begged them for a group hug. China responded by lecturing Blinken like a two-year-old and warning him to watch his tone or they would smack him into next week. Ouch. To recap: the Chinese came into our house, insulted us to our face and then laughed as they left the room in disgust.
 
In a bizarre moment, as the Chinese were vacating the room, a waiter serving Blinken coffee whispered in his ear, “Ask them about the lying of the origins of the China Virus which originated in Wuhan and killed millions of people across the globe. Ask them about stealing our intellectual property. Ask them about throwing Uyghurs in concentration camps.” Blinken just asked for more cream for his coffee.
 
Boycotting the 2022 Olympics reminded me of another Olympics in 1936 which was scheduled to be held in Berlin. Germany’s Third Reich was rising, and it was abundantly clear to anyone paying attention that their goal was to conquer and rule the entire world. Ringing any bells? Judge Jeremiah Mahoney, president of the Amateur Athletic Union, led efforts to boycott the 1936 Olympics. In his view, participation would indicate an endorsement of Hitler’s Reich. Great Britain, France, Sweden Czechoslovakia and the Netherlands wanted to boycott the event-you know, all the countries right next to Germany. Ironically, three years after the Olympics, Germany cried “havoc and let slip the dogs of war.” (Julius Caesar 3.1.274) Poland, was invaded by Germany and World War II was officially off and running.
 
Let us pray that history doesn’t repeat itself.
