Great start to the convention last night with some powerful speeches.
First things first.

Oh, and then the MSM decided to cut away multiple times.
MSNBC pulled away once a black female Republican started speaking.
God forbid if their viewership sees diversity… pic.twitter.com/MFOCCufm9T

Favorite speech of the night goes to Tim Scott who highlighted Biden’s weakness with the black community.
Sen. Tim Scott: "Our family went from cotton to Congress in one lifetime." #RepublicanConvention #RNC2020 pic.twitter.com/laQTUBTVns
— The Hill (@thehill) August 25, 2020
He told us about his grandfather who was forced out of school to pick cotton, never learned how to read and write but saw his grandson “become the first African American to be elected to both the United States House and Senate.”
“Our family went from cotton to Congress in one lifetime.”
He contrasted this with the left’s negative view of America.
“Joe Biden said if a black man didn’t vote for him, he wasn’t truly black,” Scott noted. “Joe Biden said black people are a monolithic community. It was Joe Biden who said, ‘Poor kids can be just as smart as white kids.’”
Plus he reminded us how “In 1994, Biden led the charge on a crime bill that put millions of black Americans behind bars” and explained that “President Trump’s criminal justice reform law fixed many of the disparities Biden created and made our system more fair and just for all Americans.”
“Make no mistake: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris want a cultural revolution. A fundamentally different America. If we let them, they will turn our country into a socialist utopia, and history has taught us that path only leads to pain and misery, especially for hard-working people hoping to rise”
Georgia State Rep. Vernon Jones, a black Democrat, said “As you can see, I’m a man of color, and I’m a lifelong Democrat, too.”
Democratic GA lawmaker Vernon Jones: "When I made the public announcement of my support for Pres. Trump, all hell broke loose…Unfortunately that's consistent with the Democratic Party and how they view independent thinking Black men and women." https://t.co/hzdjldT92h #RNC2020 pic.twitter.com/xvafiodnKL

“The Democratic Party does not want black people to leave their mental plantation.”
“Joe Biden has had 47 years to produce results, but he’s been all talk and no action.”
Jones credited Trump for funding Historically Black Colleges and Universities for ten years. This has “never happened before in our history.”
I’ve seen tragic shootings on both sides — officers killing citizens and citizens killing officers in the line of duty,” Jones said.
“Police officers are our fellow citizens. They love our country. They have families. They live in our communities. Unfortunately, Democrats have turned their backs on our brave police officers.
Jones said his public announcement of support for the President brought ridicule and claimed he was asked to resign from his party. Jones bashed his party, saying it has become infected with “intolerance, bigotry and socialism,” before he wrapped up his remarks endorsing the president.
Donald Trump Jr did a great job framing this election as a choice between “church, work, and school versus rioting, looting, and vandalism.”
100% right!
And Cuban immigrant Maximo Alvarez spoke about the socialism and authoritarianism he fled — only to see it being reassembled here in America.
Florida businessman Maximo Alvarez came close to tears as he talked about how those in his native Cuba were deceived by Fidel Castro and Americans shouldn’t make the same mistake.
‘I may be Cuban born, but I am 100 per cent American,’ he told those watching the first night of the virtual Republican National Convention. ‘This is the greatest country in the world. If I gave away everything I have today, it would not equal 1 per cent of what I was given when I came to this great country of ours: The gift of freedom,’ he said, his voice breaking.
He added that, ‘I still hear my dad: there is no other place to go.’
‘And I can never forget all those who grew up around me, who looked like me, who could have been me, who suffered and starved and died because they believed those empty promises,’ he said. ‘They swallow the Communist poison pill.’
Alvarez said that at Miami’s Freedom Tower, referred to as the ‘Ellis Island of the South,’ ‘you can still hear the sound of those broken promises.’
‘It is the sound of waves in the ocean, carrying families clinging to pieces of wood, families with children who can’t swim, but willing to risk everything to reach this blessed land,’ he said. ‘It is the sound of tears hitting the paper of an application for American citizenship.’
Of course the left tried their best to “fact-check” the speeches, failing as they often do:
This evening CNN's "fact-checker" Daniel Dale attempted to claim that @DonaldJTrumpJr was wrong for saying that Joe Biden had described protests as "peaceful."
Here is video of Biden saying just that.
Dale's own network called these protests "violent," earlier today. pic.twitter.com/iPjQWUKyyk

A Washington Post “fact” check (really: Political Affiliation Check) of Nikki Haley’s statement that Obama/Biden “literally sent” planeloads full of money to Iran attempts to portray her as misleading or even false, while low-key admitting that yes, literal planeloads of money were in fact sent:
Last night @NikkiHaley said about Iran "Obama & Biden… literally sent them a plane full of cash." Washington Post fact checked that as one of "19 claims" "drawn from Pres Trump’s arsenal of falsehoods." Their fact check says Obama & Biden literally sent Iran planes full of cash pic.twitter.com/nAueJUd5Cr

Is this what we can expect from CNN's fact checking during the RNC?

Have you noticed how Kamala doesn’t have an honest bone in her body?
Today she’s backpedalling away from “Medicare for all.”
But….
HARRIS [to Biden]:
Q: What about Medicare-for-All?
Harris:
Q: You support giving universal health care to people in this country illegally?
Harris:
To compare and contrast, the Trump team will have little-to-no correcting of their policy positions.
CNN has deleted that 302 LOL tweet because it was wrong, stupid and petty.
The most positive, uplifting opening in 36 years!
Positive – if you love Americans, negative if you hate America!
It is unfortunate that the same great number of those that viewed the first night of the RNC didn’t view the DNC. In that way, they would see the clear contrast between the two and, likewise, see the lies the liberal media, aka DNC Ministry of Propaganda, are dumping upon the American people.
No doubt, night two will be an even stronger kick to the gut.
@Nan G: Are you saying Willie Brown is not honest?
@Deplorable Me: #3
OOF! That was a good one!
Has anyone noticed that the left wing media praised and promoted the DNC but constantly criticize the RNC? It’s kind of subtle… just wondering if anyone caught it.
all the cnn alleged experts, they take about all the news from weather to economics to well, more like talking trach is more like it. blitzer looked like he had his frontal lobotomy preformed in the morning, the rest appeared to have and oversized corn cob inserted in the rectal area of the body.
-the Bee noted that Republicans had a big, festive convention planned for this week but canceled it at the last minute, opting instead to broadcast footage of riots in Democrat-controlled cities for nearly 3 hours.
Republicans simply aired videos of burning homes and businesses and leftists throwing bricks through windows on Democrats’ watch for hours on end.
“It’s a far more effective strategy than if we were to get up there, open our mouths, and talk,” said an RNC spokesperson. “This is far more effective than any ad campaign or convention programming we could have come up with. We just let people see what happens when Democrats decide to let their followers run amok blowing stuff up and screaming at people.”
Democrats, for their part, admit they have been outplayed, and say they wish they would have just broadcast footage of Trump talking for four days.
@rodney stanton: But the Democrat/Leftwing disinformation outlets have just said over and over how “negative” and “vitriolic” it is…so their followers will think that.
Where do we go when the Left can just lie and some people treat it as the truth?
