If you live in a state that has had, or has an upcoming Primary vote for the Democrats, then by now you’ve probably gotten solicited by the various candidates out to beg for your vote. Since Sister Babe generally votes Democrat, we get canvassers from both sides. At least when they knock on the door we already know who they’re asking for based on whatever swag they’re wearing. And while I usually answer the door, I’m always friendly toward them, regardless of which Marxist scum they happen to be supporting. Since 2012 I’ve talked to people who are here for various Democrats, whether it be Hillary, Kasich, Warren, or Bloomberg.
Why am I civil toward them? They’re always respectful, and as someone who’s knocked on doors I know how tough it can be. I don’t bother trying to debate them, but give them a smile and a thank you and take whatever material they have. And then I get back inside to try to calm down Doggie Bob, who hates any strangers who come to our door. Or friends. Or family members. Yes, while she’s come a long way we still have work to do with Doggie Bob. But back to the topic.
I get really annoyed at unsolicited texts, and feel no need for courtesy. Although I couldn’t find the feed on my phone, every few months I get a text from Moveon.org, thinking that they’re texting Sister Babe. I always like messing with them, such as when they asked for my support in Impeaching President Trump I ask the solicitor if she has any idea how her organization got its name. Sorry, no screen grab, but here are a few I was able to grab from Mini-Mayor:
For some reason I didn’t get a response. I tried being a bit more polite but equally direct with the next one:
Still no response. This time I tried giving a bit of a compliment on destroying my state in hopes of a response:
Still no luck. That would be the last I’d hear from Bloomberg before he dropped out. This time I’d get a Bernie Bro, and to his credit, he was willing to engage:
And while I couldn’t fit it on my screen grab, to his credit the Bro replied to my last text with “Thanks for letting me know. Enjoy your day.”
There’s no overarching point to this, just a fun post to share to start the week. What stories do you have about interacting with these folks?

I’m not sure how the algorithms work, but I get Facebook pages on my feed from numerous liberal organizations, including campaigns and the NYT. I don’t know what I did to deserve this, but I like to comment on them. Few respond other than the other commenters on the NYT, but that gives me a really clear view of how ignorant the sycophants following the MOST radical of the candidates are. Those following Warren and Bernie are the most rabid and vapid.
I may have gotten a text from the Booker campaign and I don’t recall my exact response, but it wasn’t all that supportive.
Dont get them here,The “Trespassers wiill be shot on sight, survivors shot again” sign?
Or “Go away, Im running out of places to hide the bodies”?
I’m thinking about replacing them with a different sign.
I prefer the phone surveys. I tell them I’m a gay Hispanic who wants Bernie. It does get me more surveys…
@Deplorable Me: I used to love commenting over at The Nation until they figured out the most brilliant way to suppress opposing opinions – comments were restricted only to paid subscribers. As much as I like them for a good laugh or blog fodder, no way am I funding them
@kitt: Nah, worst case they’re fun to mess with!
@Bookdoc: Ah, yes – I love surveys! I take every opportunity to ensure that they know that letting creeps into girls’ bathrooms is my #1 concern!
@Brother Bob: Ok then answer the door shake their hand keep your most tattered bathrobe by the door to greet them, then tape the sign up, and tell them have a nice day shut the door while coughing into your hand.
@kitt: That’s not very nice =8^)
@Brother Bob: The not nice part is putting up a hand sanitizer station filed with scent coverhttps://www.sportsmans.com/hunting-gear-supplies/decoys-calls-scents/scents-scent-elimination/scents/moccasin-joe-skunk-scent/p/303488?channel=shopping&msclkid=dc0e8f44625912844d28d123c2ac921b&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Bing – Shopping – NB – Fail SKUS&utm_term=4580634168364232&utm_content=Fail
