New Hollywood movie featuring liberals hunting down and killing Trump supporters suddenly not so far fetched

Next month Hollywood will release a new movie called “The Hunt.”  it’s about liberal elites hunting down and killing Trump supporters. Matt Margolis:

In the past few days we’ve been hearing a lot about how Donald Trump’s rhetoric is apparently to blame for the El Paso shooting, yet Hollywood apparently lacked the foresight to think that a movie promoting violence against “deplorables” might be in bad taste until after the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, as only now is Universal rethinking their promotional strategy for the film.

“Did anyone see what our ratf**ker-in-chief just did?” one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: “At least The Hunt’s coming up.Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.”

In the aftermath of mass shootings within days of one another that shocked and traumatized the nation, Universal is re-evaluating its strategy for the certain-to-be-controversial satire. The violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals.

Over the Aug. 3 weekend, ESPN pulled an ad for the film that it had previously cleared, while AMC ran the spot during the season premiere of its drama The Preacher. It’s unclear whether the ads were identical, but the one yanked by ESPN opened with a sound resembling an emergency broadcast signal. A rep for ESPN parent Disney declined to comment on the move, but an ESPN source says no spots for the film will appear on the network in the coming weeks.

According to THR, the movie “features guns blazing along with other ultra-violent killings as the elites pick off their prey.”

As Margolis notes, this seems like a particularly stupid thing to do, and more so in light of recent events. Here’s the trailer

Does it strike anyone else as hypocritical for left wingers to produce such a violent movie featuring murder as sport given the phony wailing from the left about Trump’s alleged violent rhetoric?

This movie is no longer far fetched. Some are taking baby steps in this direction. Specifically, Joaquin Castro has published a hit list of Trump donors, without question in the hopes of visiting them economic harm and perhaps even physical harm.

Castro, twin brother of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro, posted late Monday night on Facebook that he was “sad to see so many San Antonians on this list of maximum donors to Donald Trump.” He specifically called out two companies, including a popular BBQ restaurant, and posted a list of 44 donors, with their full names and employers.

Trump campaign official Tim Murtaugh highlighted the post on Tuesday, calling it a “target list.”

“This is Joaquin Castro, Congressman & chair of his brother’s campaign,” Murtaugh wrote. “Naming private citizens & their employers, targeting them for political views and exercising 1st Amendment rights.”

“At the very least [Castro] is inviting harassment of these private citizens,” he said. “At worst, he’s encouraging violence.”

Castro also managed to er, shoot himself in the foot

Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX) thought he only put Trump supporters on blast when he posted a list revealing each campaign donor’s name and employer. Instead, he revealed that one of the same Trump donors was also his donor, according to a Fox News exclusive.

Castro included his own supporter in the list posted to Twitter Monday and his donor was not happy about the stunt.

Wayne Harwell confirmed to Fox News that he’s a donor to both politicians, but won’t be anymore announcing he’s pulling out of team Castro.

And while we’re at it- who is really calling for violence?

Ready to surrender your guns?

LOL.
If anyone thinks those on the Left will hate them less if they are unarmed, think again.
Shooters who just want dead bodies look for those places where their targets are least likely to shoot back.
This is at least 5 years old, but still true:

Hollywood is so concerned about gun violence and hate, they make a movie about hating Trump supporters and killing them with guns. Because, you know… they care about civility.

I wonder if there is any possible better use for $18 million dollars than promoting murdering people because they won’t think like a liberal? Any ideas? Maybe even right in the vicinity of Hollywood? Anything?

We will wait with bated breath for the peace-loving left to denounce the promotion and glorification of political violence.

In case you want to know what kind of whores would appear in such a piece of trash for money, here they are.

Remain calm and go to the range and practice.

What recycled tactic is this?
Why do they push for a civilwar?
Fear and paranoia are mind killers.

bring it on………………………

Just another liberal hypotcrite movie to add to our Boycott list we wont be plunking down our cash for these Hollyweed idiots

With the multiple threads on what happened over the weekend, it was kind of hard to choose where to post. Everyone has done a great job in pointing out the lies and unhinged behavior of the left from the ignoring of the neo-Marxist leanings of the El Paso shooter that could have gotten him a slot on the debate stages last week and the ignoring of the Dayton shooter because he was clearly leftist, to the calling for the eradication of Trump supporters and advocating the killing of Mitch McConnell. Sorry to say, this country is probably past the point of no return as to where this is headed and it won’t be pretty. Kurt Schlichter summed it up nicely.

Oh, and by the way, just who are the extremists when it comes to illegal immigration?

A trashy exploitation film that should go straight into the dumpster. Save your money and send a message. They understand a multi-million dollar loss.

Having said that, who is actually being vilified and demonized? It doesn’t sound to me as if the rich liberal elite hunters are going to be the heroes of the tale.

@Greg: I agree totally, Im sure someday it will be a cult classic.
What type of garbage mind does a screenplay like this come out of, Universal is Disney owned. We see what happens to little girls after Disney is done with them.

@Greg: Those movies aren’t made in a vacuum. The entire industry decided to boycott Georgia simply because they would not condone murder. Then, Universal Studios and numerous other production companies invest in this trash. Clearly, only ideology guides this industry or, rather, the liberal majority that comprises it. No principles or morality to be found.

Of course, we no longer have a fledgling police state any more, but what happened to a obscure film maker that dared make a documentary uncomplimentary of Islam? Would the movie industry accept the same thing happening to everyone at Universal Studios involved with this?

More proof the left doesn’t care about public safety and are more than happy to promote hate and violence as long as they get to assign who it is directed against.

@Deplorable Me:

You want more proof?

For years now the left (Democrats) have been telling us that our police is the problem as they, the police, go after minorities persecuting them. Not one Democrat decried “Pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon” or “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now.”

Now we are being told that Americans should disarm, leaving firearms only in the hands of the very cops they have been demeaning for some time now.

You see, Democrats don’t want solutions, they want control. And unfortunately, some Republicans will go along with them for fear they themselves will be demonized by the Democrats. Nothing like a good doxxing to put the fear of G-d in a Republican, right?

I find it ironic that Kathy Griffin of beheaded president fame, is now whining how she is unemployable. Consequence of your actions, Kathy Griffin, consequence of your actions. But she doesn’t want to be held accountable. She is a leftie and lefties are not accountable, right?

@Greg:

no, just the average lower middle class working individuals, grinding out a better living for their spoiled snowflake, mellifluous scum sucking children. wonder why the film did not go after alleged celebrities. “Hunting hollywood elite”

@Deplorable Me, #9:

Clearly, only ideology guides this industry or, rather, the liberal majority that comprises it.

I think what primarily guides those who run the industry is the desire to make a lot of money. Once in a while good movies happen in spite of that. I suspect any ideological content is most often just a by-product of an attempt to target and exploit a particular market segment. The industry’s corporate leaders probably aren’t principled enough to promote any ideology for its own sake, or art for art’s sake.

@Greg:

@retire05, #10:

Clearly, only ideology guides this industry or, rather, the liberal majority that comprises it.

Hey, dumba$$, I never said that.

@retire05, #13:

I corrected the attribution, but the error did give you an excuse for another gratuitous personal insult. Do you find no other joy in life?

There is no doubt that Hollywood is in to making huge amounts of money. I got selective about what films I spent money on about thirty years ago. I now have broadened my selectivity to include al DeNiro types. I don’t care how good a film looks I won’t go if the star is a fool. Many years ago I got sick of plot lines where the government or big business were always the bad guy ( think Steven Segal ). I’ve reached the age where old movies like The Maltese Falcon are favorites because the bad guy is a bad GUY. No one knows or cares about his political ideology. He’s a bad guy because he is evil. We used to call out evil. Now ideologs place blame on people not associated with the evil perpetrator for the purpose of political persecution.

@Greg:

I think what primarily guides those who run the industry is the desire to make a lot of money.

Really. You think a movie like this is a money maker? You think THEY think this is a money maker? Well, anyone that believes that is a large part of the problem. Anyone that believes a lot of people want to see conservatives hunted down and killed are no different than the shooter in El Paso, and a GODDAMN good reason to oppose Democrat’s ideas on gun control. If there are enough evil, hateful, bloodthirsty, cowardly, murderous liberals out there to make this movie profitable, no one NOT a liberal should venture out unarmed.

Thanks for the clarity.

Of course, it’s not like these idiots put their OWN money up to make this garbage. No, that ain’t the liberal way. OTHER PEOPLE invest in their production companies and THEY will take it in the ass if this movie winds up getting shelved or tanks… not the geniuses behind it.

The industry’s corporate leaders probably aren’t principled enough to promote any ideology for its own sake, or art for art’s sake.

No, the industry is led by people who condone misogyny and pedophilia. One thing they cannot be accused of having is principles.

@Deplorable Me, #16:

Really. You think a movie like this is a money maker? You think THEY think this is a money maker?

It was probably intended to be. I don’t know the details, but I’m guessing it was a low-budge project intended for a short run in theaters before quickly going to the DVD, cable, and online movie rental market. It’s amazing how many movies they couldn’t pay some people to watch can still turn a profit.

@71 Grad:

Yep. If it weren’t for Turner Movie Classics, BBC fare on PBS, a couple of genuine history channels, and high speed internet access, I’d ditch my cable entirely. There are hundreds of channels but very little worth watching.

Cable news has all become so politicized that you don’t reliably get most news. Last week a French inventor flew across the English Channel on a hover board of his own design. A bit of the future suddenly arrived, but little mention was made.

Bastile Day in Paris, last month.

(Franky Zapata’s fly board has a maximum altitude of 9,800 ft. Donald may need to build a higher wall.)

the snowflakes and millenniums in Hong Long have been rioting, destroying private, and federal buildings and beating up civilians for over two months. the mayor, Lee, has tried to use the local police to deal with the demonstrators. the PLA has a garrison, on call, of 6,000 soldiers. the PLA is massing troops on the boarder to help with the chaos. do you see anything of a timely manner on US t.v? the snowflakes and millenniums are attempting a coup in Hong Kong just as the demorats are trying in the US. when the President of China unleashes the combat ready troops into Hong Kong the end result will not be attractive.

@Greg:

understand one valuable lesson-never screw with the President of the United States. in just a matter of a few hours, one never existed. the overt and silent power that is in his control is limitless. one does not get burned, they get cremated and the ashes vanish.

That he might believe that is precisely what worries a lot of people. We’re talking about a man who sometimes has difficulty controlling his impulses with a Twitter account.

A presiden’t temporary office is the only source of his power.

The “snowflakes” in Hong Kong are resisting the will of a totalitarian state, which they fear will crush their freedom. This is probably an entirely legitimate concern.

@Greg: This President has reacted to NO “impulses”. You liberals still have to convince yourselves of the terrible things you imagine Trump is guilty of and then complain about it.

The last movie that was somewhat long these same lines made $10million at the Sundance festival in Park City, Utah in just a few days.
Then it came out both nationally and internationally.
It made a grand total of $2million from then til now!
Lefties and Hollywood elites are this movie’s target audience,

@Greg: Sidestepping the point. You and your party’s supporters routinely call for, and commit, violence….then hide behind false accusations against the right for doing the same.

The data is clear: The Left is far more violent than the right/centrists.

Explain why?

@Greg:

The “snowflakes” in Hong Kong are resisting the will of a totalitarian state, which they fear will crush their freedom.

Already has.

Communist China is what will happen to the US if you and your party’s aims are achieved.

Where is the troll farm you work at, by the way?

The Hyporicy in Hollywood stands out like sore thumb these same bunch who took part in their Demand A Plan also made movies where guns were used THE HOLLYWOOD WASTELAND

@Greg: Greg, any “illegal” who can afford a $6,600 flyboard could probably come here legally and be welcomed.

@Nan G: Everybody knows we (the US) invented and built those things in the 50s and 60s, right?

Everybody knows we (the US) invented and built those things in the 50s and 60s, right?

Those used hydrogen peroxide-fueled rocket nozzles. Maximum flying time was about 30 seconds.

Zapata’s flyboard uses kerosene-fueled turbines. It’s the size of a small carry-on suitcase and can fly 10 minutes before refueling. Maximum speed is supposed to be 87 mph, but he’s supposedly hit 103 mph.

Credit where credit is due. Zapata gets it. He just won a French military contract. He says he’s working on a flying car he plans to roll out next year, but that may be a cover story for his Ironman project.

I think the kid in the video is his son, Matt.

@Wolfman: Excellent representation of the liberal mindset, intellect and articulation. Thanks for the update.

By the way, some might have included all that on one post. We don’t really think there are more than one person posting that same garbage.

This movie was made to provoke President Trump’s Supporters to violence because the movie industry is in control of the democ(RAT)ic party and If there are more mass shootings this they think will help them win the election.

Not just the ads for the movie.
The movie has been scrapped.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/universal-scraps-hunt-release-gun-violence-uproar-1230716

“While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film,” the studio said in Saturday’s statement. “We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”

@Spurwing Plover:
I want to see this movie. The main character knows what the left is planning and reverses the game by methodically killing the liberal hunters.
How did they find the actors to make this movie?
