Fred Guttenberg was out to ambush Kavanaugh

Fred Guttenberg is the father of Jaime Guttenberg, who was a victim in the Parkland shooting. Today Fred Guttenberg today was able to make physical contact with Brett Kavanaugh, Trump’s nominee for SCOTUS. Kavanaugh, clearly disturbed, turned away from Guttenberg.

You’re going to see media rip Kavanaugh for his good sense.

You get the idea. The comments from the were as vicious as expected.

First let’s frame this. Kavanaugh faced a shitstorm from minute one. democrats, led by the Vietnam hero Dick Blumenthal (D-CT), interrupted the proceedings innumerable times. The harassment got so nasty that Kavanaugh’s daughters had to be escorted from the room out of safety concerns, so wretched was the left. Now let’s also consider that Kavanaugh may not know who Guttenberg is. Further, this was not the time nor the place to do this. But there was a reason.

Guttenberg was out to ambush Kavanaugh. to embarrass him. How do I know? Let’s fire up the Twitter wayback machine. This is from July 11:

A brief perusal of Guttenberg’s Twitter account shows how rabidly left wing he is. And how anti-Kavanaugh he is. Guttenberg retweeted this

Yesterday:

My heart aches for Guttenberg for his loss, but people in pain sometimes do very bad things. For all anyone knows, Guttenberg may have been holding a knife, or a shiv, to to try to keep Kavanaugh from becoming a Supreme Court Justice. He clearly said

“Kavanaugh must not become a Supreme Court Justice”

Given that the odds are very high Kavanaugh would prevail, it limits the options to prevent it. The environment was there, set by democrats. At the very least, Guttenberg was going to create a scene and make Kavanaugh look bad.

Kavanaugh was wise to avoid contact with Guttenberg.

Looking at some of Guttenberg’s Tweets, he sounds like he expects a judge’s job is to be legislating from the bench.

I see Justice Kavanaugh turn look at the guy wondering who he could be then hurried off by security. This isn’t about a mourning father, this isnt about screeching harpies arrested for disturbing the peace, how many of the 500thousand documents have the dems actually read, it isnt about the documents.
We win they lose, the rules for them dont matter, look at lawmakers in other countries they actually go at one another, if thats how dems want it we will elect MMA to the congress. We are finished with promises of them to reform what they themselves wrote for laws. They had to organize the clown show they have no intelligent questions to ask.

Fred’s last Tweet (above) seems to be a threat.
He is going to “play a role in ensuring that this man does not become the next Supreme Court Justice.”
I watched a video (one of many such) where an innocuous non-metal (in the case I watched, cardboard) was made into a razor sharp knife.
I really hope this man is not allowed to re-enter these hearings.
He’s gone off the rails.

@Wordsmith: That’s what all the left expects of a judge and if they are going to not legislate as a liberal or even adhere to the Constitution, they will be staunchly opposed.

@kitt: The left assumed when they changed the rules for confirming nominees that when the time came for them to be held to the same rules, they would simply shame the Republicans into being polite and letting the Democrats off the hook. What pisses them off the most is that what they are about to have shoved right past their sphincters, through the colon and out their throats is courtesy of none other than Harry Reid. And McConnell can remind them, “I told you so, dumbasses.”
