Breaking News: Trump Calls for More Violence Against Reporters!

So I wake up this morning and log into Facebook to see what the social media world is up to. And lo and behold, this bit of hysterical idiocy arrives in my newsfeed:

OMG! “Breaking News”?! From Daily Beast? This must be real serious stuff! Did we just nuke NK? Was there racial violence in Charlottesville, Virginia? Um….no. Excuse me while I wipe off my morning covfefe from my keyboard, here…

This Daily Yeast writer:

President Trump has retweeted a cartoon of a train bearing the Trump logo killing a CNN reporter, just days after a protester at a white-nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, was fatally run down by a driver who participated in that rally. The cartoon reads “Fake news can’t stop the Trump train.” In July, Trump shared a GIF of himself beating the CNN logo to a pulp. Thirty minutes after promoting the cartoon at 7 a.m. Tuesday, it was deleted from Trump’s Twitter feed.

Here’s the cartoon in question:

Or, at least a doctored version (just like the WWE video clip). Here’s the original cartoon, by Gary Varvel:

MSM would not like it much better; especially in associating the timing of it to what happened in Charlottesville and bad taste.

So originally, it was just an anthropomorphic donkey/Democrat. Headline would then read about Trump advocating for the murder of Democrats and bad taste and timing in wake of Charlottesville ([sarcasm]because you know how it was a train that ran down protesters and how it’s all linked and tied together [/sarcasm]). Forget that the cartoon isn’t depicting someone (or in the case of the doctored version tweeted out, an institution) being run down and murdered; but someone/institution attempting to stop the momentum of the Trump train.

Ok, Trump’s a real piece of work and far from presidential; but this is a prime example of why mainstream media is a bias joke.

Really?! “DAILY BEAST BREAKING NEWS”?!

It’s a frikkin’ cartoon and in the spirit of Roadrunner and Wiley Coyote, yeah in real life that dude with the CNN logo for a face would be rundown. But it’s all metaphor and shows the metaphorical CNN “dude” facing away from the metaphorical train digging in his feet attempting to stop the “Trump Train” from barreling on down the tracks.

I can’t believe I have to explain and justify a political cartoon that is being distorted by media bias.

Good grief! There are so many more legitimate idiocy to cover from this president without having to try so hard. Quit living up to the caricature of “lame stream media” reputation!

Funny I should mention Roadrunner, because I tried to track down the cartoon in question and immediately found this recent one instead:

Good thing Trump didn’t Tweet that one out, or MSM would have flipped out at the cartoon level of violence Trump is advocating. Yes, not just DB, apparently, as I went to the NBC website (so I guess the DB writer is merely kowtowing the latest MSM umbrage this morning) and see it reported here as well:

Trump Retweets User Who Called Him a ‘Fascist’
by KALHAN ROSENBLATT

President Donald Trump took about 20 minutes to delete a pair of tweets on Tuesday morning — one in which a user called the president a “fascist” and another showing a train with Trump’s name on it running over the CNN logo.

~~~
The CNN image was tweeted out by user @SLandinSoCal, who appears to be a staunch Trump supporter. @SLandinSoCal’s Twitter page consists of pro-Trump memes and retweets from other users disparaging Democrats while praising the president.
Trump was previously criticized for retweeting an edited video of himself tackling and repeatedly punching a figure with the CNN logo over its face.
While the origin of the edited version of the WWE clip was unclear, it was posted on a pro-Trump Reddit thread before landing on the president’s Twitter.
His most used form of communication has also led to a handful of head-scratching moments, including the time he sent Twitter abuzz after sending out a tweet with the word, “covfefe.”
“Despite the constant negative press covfefe,” the president tweeted in May, leading to an onslaught of memes and retweets.
Trump seemed to enjoy the chatter he created with the tweet, later writing, “Who can figure out the true meaning of “covfefe” ??? Enjoy!”
Who’s the real bully here? Why, I’d say it’s the entirety of mainstream media working in hyper overdrive.
