Aaaannnnnnd….another of Obama’s minions have appeared:
This kind of leak is criminal. Exposing national security to blame Trump for Obama’s failure to act. Amazing.
The Washington Post has a detailed and self-serving account today from several Obama administration officials on the actions taken to stop alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election. The overall picture it paints is pretty much what we have come to believe about the Obama administration. It was wildly incompetent because it was staffed by wildly incompetent people. Politics and moving the progressive agenda forward trumped, so to speak, national security. And its capacity for self-congratulatory self-delusion was boundless….
In political terms, Russia’s interference was the crime of the century, an unprecedented and largely successful destabilizing attack on American democracy. It was a case that took almost no time to solve, traced to the Kremlin through cyber-forensics and intelligence on Putin’s involvement. And yet, because of the divergent ways Obama and Trump have handled the matter, Moscow appears unlikely to face proportionate consequences.
Crime of the century? When someone can show me how an operation that resulted in Trump losing the popular vote was a success, maybe I’ll consider this over-the-top hyperbole as worthy of discussion. The only “unpredecented and largely successful attack on American democracy” that has occurred started after November 8 and involved the concentrated efforts of Obama and a lot of his senior staff and cabinet officials to concoct a bullsh** story about collusion with Russia–a narrative that has been abandoned by everyone except two or three RedState commenters–to delegitimize the current administration.
Another doozy of a quote:
“To guard against leaks, subsequent meetings in the SitRoom followed the same protocols as planning sessions for the Osama bin Laden raid.”
But hey, it’s a-ok to leak it now that Trump is in office
“The intelligence on Putin was extraordinary on multiple levels, including as a feat of espionage.”
Uh, isn’t that why you keep it secret?
What it boils down to is that Obama didn’t use his weapons and now the leaker and the MSM is blaming Trump for not using them either.

See author page
Well, now that the liberal dumbasses have exposed it, it CAN’T be used, if it even exists at all.
seriously, does anyone really believe anything the post prints? the post is like the slime and the journal-demorat propaganda machines.
“Crime of the Century”???? If this whole “Russia meddles in the election” farce is true, then all it proves is that the Russians know, and understand, the Electoral College far better than the Democrats.
If true, the third paragraph contains a ticking time bomb:
You can bet your bottom dollar that Robert Mueller’s legal team will be seeking testimony and evidence to determine the truth of that—which was probably the entire point of the leak. A lot of people don’t yet seem to be willing to understand what the full implications could be: Namely, that we might have a president who was essentially put in office by the Russians.
@Greg: The full implications are that Obama, three senior aides, or someone in the CIA leaked information telling the Russians how much we are able to penetrate their inner circle and probably exposing the sources as well.
All for political reasons, just because the annointed Democrat didn’t win. If he investigates anything, Mueller should investigate the leakers as they are far more of a threat to national security than is Trump.
@SouthernRoots, #5:
Do you recall this comment, from the classic Cold War Era movie, Dr. Strangelove?
Or how about this one?
We might want to consider what the Washington Post article has said in that context.
The point being, we likely want the Russians to know about our capability for proportional cyber retaliation—otherwise that capability doesn’t serve as a deterrent. The quoted text indicates such capabilities exists, but the last paragraph leaves them guessing about the extent of it. It’s a well-crafted leak.
As has been mentioned before, geopolitics is a game of chess, not checkers. The same can be said for domestic politics.
Kellyanne Conway, this morning, on ABC’s “This Week.”
Uh, OK. You’re mad because he did something, and you’re mad because he didn’t, about the thing that happened that you have been saying never happened.
Please press the reset button and try again.
@Greg: Hmm. Washington Post, National Security Secrets Leakers, secret authorized government misinformation partners, or secret authorized government “send a message” leakers…..
I’m still flipping a coin.
@Greg:
Gosh, Greg… and who has been carrying out this plan FOR the Russians? Why, you Democrats, that’s who!! Good work, Greg!! You are doing the bidding of the Russians!
So, do you think it was wise to throw down that gauntlet yet put no defenses in place of our own? I don’t know… seems kind of stupid not to prepare for a counterpunch.
Silly and weak, Greg. More silly and weak.
Hahahaha
Weak-kneed spin control in a lame attempt to cover Obama’s inaction. Liberals and their Moral Relativism and Situational Ethics really have zero integrity. Adolescent behavior from adolescent-minded individuals who embrace the adolescent ideology of Progressivism.
So, just to make sure we’re all on the same page…
The Trump administration has now changed their story, and officially acknowledged that Russians operatives did, in fact, use a variety of covert and illegal methods to manipulate American public opinion, with the specific intention of altering the outcome of the 2016 presidential election…
…but it’s all Obama’s fault, for failing to take sufficiently forceful action to counteract them, and for failing to fully alert the American voters to the threat. He should have heeded what the U.S. intelligence community was telling him, as any responsible president would.
Have I got it right?
Russia was going to interfere with the election…until they found out Wasserman-Shultz was installing Hillary as the candidate.
Then they stopped and just said “Nevermind” (Heavy Russian Accent).
The hysteria of the left in the face of defeat and denial is, and Trump would say, “sad”.
@Greg: Your side manipulates public opinion every day. That’s why the rest of us put you down.
Public opinion was manipulated by Clinton/Lynch rendezvous on the tarmac followed by the FBI Director saying “Yeah, Hillary broke the law, but it would be silly to charge her.”
Public opinion was manipulated when the DNC emails exposed the Dems for the corrupt, public opinion-manipulating fascists they are.
There’s no President in history that had a ready-made hit-squad to defame and “rape-a-tize” any person they needed flushed by public opinion.
Manipulating public opinion through vacuous pundits, entertainers, and straight up lies is the Democrats game. Your game, Greg.
Own it.
