The Week in Radical Leftism – 5/12/2017

Last week you all caught my lament of blogging in the Trump era – stupidity happens so quickly that it’s become nearly impossible to write a commentary piece before it’s two days behind the news cycle. And then it finally hit me – this stupidity is not going to end as long as Donald Trump is our  president, and possible ever! As I’ve been saying for many years, “Where there is no solution there is no problem.” So instead of fighting the news cycle, I’ve decided to embrace it. Unless there is mass objection this might become a weekly feature – if you love the idea or hate it feedback is most welcome!

5/7 – Lefties have been using A Handmaid’s Tale to pretend that it’s an allegory for how western nations treat women. I’ll give Kurt Schlichter’s response that he posted last week:

“The most hilarious part is the super-timely and relevant Handmaid’s Tale miniseries, a festival of imagined oppression porn designed to give frigid liberal women and their neutered male-identifying partners some much-needed bitter jollies. If you’ve never dated a college sophomore who got assigned that stupid book in her feminist lit seminar and now can’t shut up about it, this over-praised dystopian tome imagines a giant Christian conspiracy to create a gay-killing theocracy where women are slaves who are forced to cover their bodies and who are occasionally genitally mutilated. Sure, that scenario sounds familiar (Radical Islam), but I just can’t place it (Radical Islam). Oh, right – it’s totally Donald Trump’s agenda (Radical Islam).”

5/8 – Leftists show their usual compassion and class by laughing at  GOP Senator telling his wife’s cancer story

5/9 – There’s not much I can add to the Comey discussion, so let’s just show Steven Colbert’s audience cheering Comey’s firing until Colbert corrected them. As Ace put it:

“So many probably did not know that the Party Leadershp had declared that Emmanuel Goldstein was no longer a Traitor, but in fact a Martyr, a 180 degree reversal reached by a Consensus of Twitter Scientists in just ten minutes of primal screaming and digital animal noises.”

5/9 – Where Democracy Really Does Die in Darkness

It’s more important than ever.” With the election of a Republican president, the media have rediscovered constitutional government. Suddenly, executive power must be constrained again. Checks and balances are all the rage. Federalism and states’ rights are no longer racist “dog whistles,” but essential antidotes to a domineering central government.

And yet, while the media clang their alarms about how Donald Trump is supposedly turning America into a fascist dictatorship, they largely neglect the fact that democracy really is dying in other parts of the world.”

5/9 – Unwanted by any NFL teams, Colin Kaepernick debating simply becoming a full time a**hole.

5/9 – ACLU acknowledges that the law is irrelevant – they would have supported President Trump’s temporary travel pause had tit been issued by a brain damaged, alcoholic felon.

5/9 – Obama continues his (In the words of Michael Muir) “How Can I Miss You if You Won’t Go Away” tour by reminding Americans that we should stop committing the sin of living like him:

“As people want to increase meat consumption, that in turn is spiking the growth of greenhouse emissions coming out of the agricultural sector,” Obama stated, linking the production of meat to not only methane in delicious cows, but also to the emissions factories omit while processing those delicious cows.“People aren’t as familiar with the impact of cows and methane,” he said. Obama then did his thing by encouraging people to just eat smaller steaks.

That’s when Kass gently reminded the former President how much steak he had cooked for him over the course of his presidency (hundreds).”

5/9 – Sorry lefties, stop relying on out of context quotes and realize that Ted Cruz DESTROYED Sally Yates

5/10 – Why should Democrats have a monopoly on Leftist stupidity? Ever reliable RINOs Graham and Collins are joined by McCain in rejecting a repeal of Obama’s drilling rule. One would think that at some point McCain will figure out that being a a**hole toward Conservatives will never win respect from the Democrats or journalists?

5/10 – X-Men Torture Head Of ‘Heritage’ Think Tank In New Comic Book

Captain America says, ‘Heritage Initiative. They call themselves a ‘think tank,’ but—’ X-Men leader Kitty Pryde interrupts: ‘they’re a bunch of anti-mutant racists.’

Nope, they’ve learned nothing.

5/10 – #BackstoBetsy: Graduates Turn Backs on DeVos During Commencement at Historically Black College

Apparently none of these grads were trapped in the failing inter city schools that she’s trying to reform. Another exhibit for defunding higher “dedication”…

5/10 – ‘Religious Zealot 20’ Attorneys General Sue Trump To Preserve Obama Climate Cult Policies

Once again, the people who scream the loudest for separation of church and state become furious when it actually happens.

5/12 – And finally, Leftism isn’t just for Democrats, as Rex Tillerson bows to fanatical religious cult disciples:

While President Trump has talked tough in the past about his skeptical views on climate change, his administration appears to be taking a more cautious approach to the issue on the world stage in the early days of his presidency.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson signed a document today calling climate change a “serious threat” to the Arctic and noting the need for action to reduce its potentially harmful effects.

The document, known as the Fairbanks Declaration, concluded Tillerson’s chairing of a meeting of the Arctic Council, a board made up of indigenous groups and the eight countries bordering the Arctic, in Fairbanks, Alaska.

While the council only has the power to issue advisories, the language in the statement signed by Tillerson comes in stark contrast to statements and promises made by President Trump about climate change.

I’ll leave you with a few tweets.  The first is one poking fun at President Trump. One disappointing thing about this administration is that comedians are blowing the chance to produce really funny material about an easily satirized president because of their blind hatred for him. This one is how to do it right.
