After the 1984 Vice Presidential debate, then VP George H.W. Bush said the next day, not realizing he was near a live microphone, that he “tried to kick a little a** last night”. I vaguely recall my younger self remarking to Mother Bob that I thought it was pretty cool to hear that kind of trash talk from someone who came off as stiff as Bush. She did not agree, and said something to the effect of “When you’re someone in a position of power you don’t need to talk like that.”
Recently, President-Elect Trump has been making the Radical Left’s collective heads explode over, well, everything. For this post let’s just take a look at what he has been doing on Twitter. First, we had the episode where the cast of the Broadway play “Hamilton” decided to throw a fit and harass VP-elect Mike Pence with a post-show lecture. Trump came to his VP’s defense on Twitter:

At the time Trump’s actions seemed kind of petty and strange, but not entirely out of character. It could have just been Stray Voltage, designed to distract from the Trump University settlement story that hit the news that day. But look at the second tweet – “Safe and special place”. Safe spaces. Lefties crowed about Trump calling for that, but in reality it forced the Radical Left to mock their cherished notion of safe spaces.
Next up, Trump sent out a tweet regarding burning the American flag:
Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!

From what I as reading even most folks on the right did not agree with this either, but how did the Radical Left react? Of course a few idiots took the bait and showed up in front of the Trump International Hotel in New York to burn flags. Naturally images were all over the news, and did an outstanding job of helping to validate the decision of those of us who reluctantly voted for Trump. And finally, while the Recount tantrum being run by Jill Stein was in full swing, Trump threw out some tweets about voter fraud:

Naturally, leftists had a field day blasting Trump for making allegations of electoral fraud despite having no evidence to support it. And yes, I’m aware of a number of voter fraud cases that occurred, but even combined they were still too small to sway any of the states in the election. But that’s not the point – Trump set a perfect trap for the Lefties to acknowledge that it’s stupid to complain about the outcome of a fair, legal election when one has no evidence of any impropriety.
Back to my anecdote at the top of the post, I’m not happy that our president is actually spending time trolling these idiots. But frankly, this is a product of too many years of Republicans just grinning and shrugging off the most vile insults from the radicals that have taken over the Democratic party and their leaders in the mainstream media. I’d rather we be able to have a constructive dialog with them and work together, but their party has been dragged so far to the left I don’t think that’s possible. Lest you think they’ve learned anything from this last election, look no further than keeping Pelosi as the House Minority Leader, or the fact that a radical like Keith Ellison can be seriously considered for the head of the DNC.
It doesn’t matter which Republican defeated Clinton, the Radical Left would have hated that person with every ounce of their being and gone into full meltdown mode. However much I disliked voting for Trump on election day, I am grateful for the fact that if nothing else, he’s ready to fight back. Hopefully the rest of the GOP is taking notes.

All that said, Donald Trump knows just how to paint his opposition into a corner of their own making.
And then they make it obvious from that spot just how absurd their viewpoint is.
