On Thursday, July 16th 2015, devout Muslim jihadist Mohammed Abdulazeez shot dead five Americans in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Four of the dead were US Marines, the fifth man who died was a logistics specialist in the Navy. America lost five of its finest sons all of them slaughtered on American soil in the name of Islam.
Events following this brutal act of Islamic jihad over the next eleven days reveal so much about the moral bankruptcy afflicting America and Western civilization. What was once a strong, confident civilization is now badly hamstrung by weak, mediocre leaders who are bound by loyalty to an ideology instead of duty to their nations and peoples.
After Muslim soldier Abdulazeez had carried out his sacred duty for Allah, the first sign of the deep decay at the core of our society came from the security services. Reluctant to make any connection with Islam, the religion of peace, FBI special agent in charge Ed Rheinhold said the investigation would determine if it is an act of terrorism – domestic or international or simply a criminal act.
U.S. Attorney Bill Killian was more assertive. In a press conference, he said he’d class the atrocity as an act of domestic terror. He refused to classify it as Islamic terrorism because the motive is unclear. CNN analyst, former Assistant Director of the FBI Tom Fuentes joined in with the fudging. In his expert opinion, no one could say the name Muhammed Abdulazeez is a Muslim name.
It has since emerged Abdulazeez was a devout Muslim who attended his local mosque every Friday. He’d written about the importance of emulating the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his companions. All of whom waged violent jihad against unbelievers.
Just one day after the attack, the Empire State building in New York was illuminated in green light to mark the Islamic holy day of Eid al fitr. It didn’t occur to those responsible that such a gesture was inappropriate. I could use a stronger term to describe it but I’ll bite my tongue.
Four days before the Chattanooga jihad, US Secretary of State John Kerry had agreed a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran. A joint statement explained that the deal would “redesign, convert and reduce” Iran’s nuclear facilities. However, on the Saturday following the attack, MEMRI TV released footage of a speech given by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. He told the Iranian people: “The superpowers have officially recognized a nuclear Iran.”
If President Rouhani’s speech wasn’t worrying enough, worse was to come. On 20th July, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei told his people Iran would defy American policies in the region. A humiliated John Kerry reacted by calling Khamenei’s statement as “very disturbing and very troubling.” One wonders if Mr. Kerry has ever heard of Neville Chamberlain.
There was even more for Mr. Kerry to be disturbed and troubled about. During a hearing of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he admitted that if Iran violated the agreement, the US could deploy military action. His comment was mocked by the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who dismissed it as “the rotten rope of US military action” and “its uselessness against the nation of Iran.”
Things aren’t much better across the pond in once Great Britain. British Prime Minister David Cameron announced plans for a crackdown on Islamic extremists. His plans provoked anger in the Muslim community, with Muslim leaders in the county of Lancashire declaring they are “sick and tired” of having to defend the Muslim community. They also warned the Right Honourable Prime Minister not to single out one community.
Given that Mr. Cameron is warning young Muslims not to be tempted to join Islamic State, a terror organization which is allegedly nothing to do with Islam, it begs the question: Why are Muslims so outraged about plans to crackdown on the very extremism they claim shames and perverts Islam? It’s odd how they’re not as sick and tired of the global jihad being waged against infidels from every faith.
On July 25th, a story broke about British authorities and their approval of an Islamic faith school which had threatened to expel students if they mixed with other children. The students were also forbidden to speak to the media and from watching television and listening to the radio. The story came hot on the heels of criticism levelled by Mr. Cameron at Islamic faith schools, saying improving integration “is the struggle of our generation.” It seems in confused Britain, the left hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing.
Britain is blighted by an epidemic of Muslims gang raping thousands of young girls. It has emerged that Barnado’s, a children’s charity, raised concerns of a girl being repeatedly raped by a gang of Muslims to local authorities in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, seven years before any action was taken. All because of fears of being accused of racism and Islamophobia.
Devotion to a failed ideology over duty to the people is not just common to the leaders of the United States and Great Britain. An unnamed 25 year old German was lucky to escape with his life after being savagely beaten unconscious by a group of “Southerners.” He only survived because people intervened. Conveniently, the ethnicity of the perpetrators wasn’t revealed.
Only the leader of the rat-pack was convicted. Not of attempted murder but of the lesser charge of Grievous Bodily Harm. Despite the leader shouting “Now we beat the crap out of the German”, there were no accusations of racism or hate-crimes as there surely would be if this had been a group of German males and the victim an ausländer. All of the other savages walked free.
The court explained the leniency by apportioning part of the blame on the victim. Apparently, he was “overwrought and highly intoxicated” and had the misfortune to be “in the wrong place at the wrong time.” I’ll leave it up to you to decide the state of mind of the judge.
Free speech took a battering on July 20th when the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo announced it would no longer draw cartoons of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The magazine was targeted by devout Muslim jihadists seeking revenge for the mocking of their prophet who attacked the Paris offices on January 7th 2015. Eleven people were shot dead and eleven more were wounded.
In the aftermath of the attack, Charlie Hebdo remained committed to free speech and the hash tag #JeSuisCharlie trended on Twitter as a sign of the refusal to bow to terrorists. Sadly, Charlie Hebdo isn’t Charlie anymore and the terrorists have won another victory for Islam. The crime of blasphemy has returned to France, another precious freedom has been lost but you can be sure blasphemy won’t apply to any other religion especially Christianity. When the former Yugoslavia descended into war, the United States chose to side with Bosnian Muslims and against their foe, the Bosnian Serbs. The US was instrumental in influencing NATO to launch air strikes against the Serb army, who were a much more powerful force than the Bosnian Muslim Army. President Bill Clinton assured the American people the Bosnian Muslims were the victims of Serb aggression.
Fast forward to today and the serious consequences of America’s actions are still unfolding. Mujahideen from Islamic State have established a stronghold in the Bosnian town of Osve. In an interview with the British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, terrorism expert Dzevad Galijasevic revealed large numbers of devout Muslims are leaving Osve to wage jihad in Syria. He also gave this chilling warning:
“There is no one there who isn’t ready to respond to the summons to jihad.”
Bosnia isn’t the only place where Islamic State is establishing a stronghold in the West. During an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Director of the FBI, James Comey revealed Islamic State are recruiting in ALL fifty states. Curiously, he said what worries him the most is the way the jihadists are investing in social media, making it very easy for people to interact with IS and receive their message.
He also stated the job of the FBI is to identify people who are receptive to IS propaganda and stop them committing domestic terrorism. Note he doesn’t say Islamic terror, again deliberately avoiding associating Islam with terror. Because hey, everyone knows Islamic State is nothing to do with Islam obviously.
Director Comey’s fudging was absolutely typical of the denials of the reality of Islam that occurred in the eleven days after the Chattanooga jihad. Such denials of reality shame America and the West and until those whose sworn duty is to protect their people have the courage to admit they got it badly wrong about Islam, there will be more acts of jihad committed on Western soil.
