The left has got itself up in arms in its outrage of the week; can you guess what it is? Swapping a military deserter who is possibly guilty of treason for several terrorist leaders? Maybe the fact that our president has manufactured a new crisis by dissolving our southern border? Or perhaps the fact that he’s pretty much checked out and run off to do photo ops when with two and 1/2 years left in his term? How about the fact that a private business can’t be forced to include an inexpensive item that can be legally and easily purchased by anyone? If you said the last one you would be correct! You already know that the Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby, which of course has sent the left to its standard playbook – having nothing positive or constructive to offer they’re moving to whip it’s base into a frothing anger!1 Dem lawmakers don’t seem to understand how Supreme Court rulings work and are trying to pass another law to be overturned as well.
Ah, if only the party had a leader who understood the Constitution he might warn them not to waste their time… And in the short run they’re simply going out and flat out lying about what the ruling means. It was so bad that even The Washington Post had to call them on it. Not being true won’t matter to their base, of course. They’ll parrot these lines ad infinitum and lecture the rest of us about what horrible people we are for not embracing their agenda. You know what they’re not doing though? None of these leftists, particularly the wealthy ones, aren’t opening their own chain of hobby stores that offer a cornucopia of birth control products for their employees. Or maybe they can run a Kickstarter campaign to allow leftists without tons of money to finance this cause with their own hard earned savings?
Sadly, leftists’ charity and compassion comes to an abrupt end when it reaches their wallets. I’ve criticized these minimum wage Chickenhawks in the past over their hypocrisy toward Wal-Mart and how powerful leftists actually pay their own employees. But let’s forget about asking the lefties to but their own hobby store – I have a simpler solution to show your sincerity. If you feel that not agreeing to be forced to spend your own money to buy other people things that are not essential to their survival, then it’s time to prove that you are not supporter of the 18th Amendment. Yes, I am talking about the prohibition of alcohol, and you can prove your sincerity by picking up the tab for my beer consumption! Yes, just contact me and I’ll be happy to direct you to a number of local watering holes where we can set up a tab in my name that will be billed directly to you, and we can do the same at the local Total Wine where beers for consumption at Chateau d’ Bob are generally purchased. Now you might be objecting to my proposal for some very good reasons:
- Beer is something that can easily be legally purchased by any adult, including me
- Beer is not essential to my health (although I’m still trying to convince Sister Babe otherwise)
- Not forcing someone else to buy beer for me in no way prevents me from purchasing beer myself
- It would be incredibly insulting to me to suggest that I’m so hapless and unable to manage my finances that I can’t afford to make a small purchase for myself
Of course, these are the same arguments that you lefties reading this like to use regarding the necessity of birth control mandates, and I know that none of you want to be called out as hypocrites, so here is an easy opportunity for you to put your money where your mouth is. But I will have to warn you, I tip generously.
