Mohammed Atta wasn’t “core Al Qaeda” either

The Obama regime has made much of the assertion that “Core Al Qaeda” was not part of the Benghazi attacks on September 11, 2012.

The State Department confirmed Wednesday that two Libyan groups reportedly set to be designated as terrorists took part in the Benghazi 9-11 anniversary attacks of 2012. But the Obama administration insists there is no evidence linking the attack to al Qaeda’s central leadership.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki chose her words carefully saying the branches of Ansar al-Sharia, a militia that claimed credit for the Benghazi attack in the first hours after the incident on social media were not “official affiliates” of al Qaeda.

Mohammed Atta was one of, if not, the ringleader of the 9-11 attacks. He wasn’t “core Al Qaeda” either.

Mohamed Atta (September 1, 1968 – September 11, 2001) was an Egyptian Islamist terrorist and a known associate of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization. Atta was the ringleader of the 19 hijackers in the September 11 attacks, and was at the controls of American Airlines Flight 11 which was the first plane to strike the World Trade Center.

No sir, he only trained at an Al Qaeda camp:

German investigators said that they had evidence that Mohamed Atta trained at al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan from late 1999 to early 2000. The timing of the Afghanistan training was outlined on August 23, 2002 by a senior investigator. The investigator, Klaus Ulrich Kersten, director of Germany’s federal anticrime agency, the Bundeskriminalamt, provided the first official confirmation that Atta and two other pilots had been in Afghanistan and the first dates of the training. Kersten said in an interview at the agency’s headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany, that Atta was in Afghanistan from late 1999 until early 2000,[50][51] and evidence that Atta met with Osama bin Laden while there.[52]

Trained at an Al Qaeda camp? You mean like Sufian bin Qumu- one of the Benghazi attackers who also trained at an Al Qaeda camp?

The ringleader of the 9-11 attacks wasn’t “core Al Qaeda.” I guess that makes everything better.

Just sayin’

You listenin’, Jay?
