Barack Obama wants to know all about your sex life, and I mean all of it:
‘Are you sexually active? If so, with one partner, multiple partners or same-sex partners?”
Be ready to answer those questions and more the next time you go to the doctor, whether it’s the dermatologist or the cardiologist and no matter if the questions are unrelated to why you’re seeking medical help. And you can thank the Obama health law.
Cardiologists do not need this kind of information. Neither do ophthalmologists. Or neurosurgeons.
“This is nasty business,” says New York cardiologist Dr. Adam Budzikowski. He called the sex questions “insensitive, stupid and very intrusive.” He couldn’t think of an occasion when a cardiologist would need such information — but he knows he’ll be pushed to ask for it.
Doctors are being financially pressured to violate your privacy:
Doctors and hospitals who don’t comply with the federal government’s electronic-health-records requirements forgo incentive payments now; starting in 2015, they’ll face financial penalties from Medicare and Medicaid. The Department of Health and Human Services has already paid out over $12.7 billion for these incentives.
Dr. Richard Amerling, a nephrologist and associate professor at Albert Einstein Medical College, explains that your medical record should be “a story created by you and your doctor solely for your treatment and benefit.” But the new requirements are turning it “into an interrogation, and the data will not be confidential.”
And if you think your information will be kept confidential, you’re an idiot:
Lack of confidentiality is what concerned the New York Civil Liberties Union in a 2012 report. Electronic medical records have enormous benefits, but with one click of a mouse, every piece of information in a patient’s record, including the social history, is transmitted, disclosing too much.
The social-history questions also include whether you’ve ever used drugs, including IV drugs. As the NYCLU cautioned, revealing a patient’s past drug problem, even if it was a decade ago, risks stigma.
Just think- the IRS will know all of your sex life. And you know how clean they are:
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), already under fire for its targeting of conservative organizations and monitoring of Americans’ online activities, is now being accused of stealing the medical records of over 10 million Americans.
A class action lawsuit filed in California in March claims that in the course of serving a warrant for tax records related to a single former employee of a southern California business, IRS agents “stole more than 60,000,000 medical records of more than 10,000,000 Americans.” The agents did this in spite of the fact that such a seizure was not authorized by the warrant, was irrelevant to their investigation, and violated federal law, the suit says.
According to the lawsuit, on March 11, 2011, the IRS “conducted a raid on the corporate headquarters” of the California company. The plaintiffs allege that the raid was unnecessary because “the agents admitted the company was not under investigation” — a confession backed up by both “internal IRS records” and “the search warrant.”
Secure, you argue? Wrong.
In the first report of its kind, state Attorney General Kamala Harris said 2.5 million Californians had Social Security numbers, credit card and bank accounts and other sensitive information exposed in 131 data breaches.
Betsy McCaughey offers some good advice:
Patients need to defend their own privacy by refusing to answer the intrusive social-history questions. If you need to confide something pertaining to your treatment, ask your doctor about keeping two sets of books so that your secret stays in the office. Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath seriously and won’t be offended.
Yes we do.
Are such precautions paranoid? Hardly. WikiLeaker Bradley Manning showed how incompetent the government is at keeping its own secrets; incidents where various agencies accidentally disclose personal data like Social Security numbers are legion. And that’s not to mention the ways in which commercial databases are prone to hacking and/or exploitation.
Be careful about sharing your medical secrets with Uncle Sam.
Once uploaded, your medical privacy is gone. The IRS will be enforcing Obamacare- they will have access to your medical records- and don’t believe them when they dispute it. Obamacare “navigators” will have access to your medical privacy- and they aren’t even required to have background checks. How would you like someone from ACORN recording the number of your sexual partners?
“And it’s more than navigators. It’s people that assist the navigators. Now, these navigators will have our consumers throughout the country’s most personal and private information: tax return information, Social Security information. And our biggest fear, of course, is identity theft.”
It’s more than that. This regime has already amply demonstrated its willingness to abuse the IRS to suppress the rights of conservatives. Remember that Obama joked about using the IRS to audit his enemies?
At his Arizona State University commencement speech last Wednesday, Mr. Obama noted that ASU had refused to grant him an honorary degree, citing his lack of experience, and the controversy this had caused. He then demonstrated ASU’s point by remarking, “I really thought this was much ado about nothing, but I do think we all learned an important lesson. I learned never again to pick another team over the Sun Devils in my NCAA brackets. . . . President [Michael] Crowe and the Board of Regents will soon learn all about being audited by the IRS.”
Just a joke about the power of the presidency. Made by Jay Leno it might have been funny. But as told by Mr. Obama, the actual president of the United States, it’s hard to see the humor. Surely he’s aware that other presidents, most notably Richard Nixon, have abused the power of the Internal Revenue Service to harass their political opponents. But that abuse generated a powerful backlash and with good reason. Should the IRS come to be seen as just a bunch of enforcers for whoever is in political power, the result would be an enormous loss of legitimacy for the tax system.
Imagine the “persuasion” it could bring to bear having every last bit of your sexual history?
Obamacare must be terminated. It’s utterly obscene. There are truly demented people behind it, starting at the top.
Don’t forget, Barack Obama already has a history of magically coming into possession of sealed private records and using them against political opponents. Only the most naïve, stupid or sycophantic think it won’t happen again.
Obama will know if you have genital warts, how many abortions your daughter had, if your son is gay, how many times your wife has been in rehab and how many prescriptions for Viagra you’ve refilled. And so will millions of other people.
But you still won’t be able to see his school records. Talk about irony.
Chief Justice Brennan is credited with having crafted a “right to privacy” in the Constitution. Barack Obama and democrats are destroying that right.
