We have to bomb Syria because of another video? Are you kidding me?

What’s with this regime and videos?

John Kerry is just exuding umbrage. He’s positively negative. His face is swollen with concern. Or maybe it’s the botox. He and Obama are all but stamping their feet demanding they be allowed to bomb Syria. There’s just one problem.

There is no smoking gun.

There is, however, a video.

PARIS — The Obama administration is distributing videos showing a chemical weapons attack in Syria to help convince Americans and Congress that a military intervention against the Syrian government is necessary, Secretary of State John Kerry said Sunday.

Speaking at a news conference in Paris, Kerry said the videos make clear that the attack is not something Americans can ignore.

The United States has accused Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government of using chemical weapons in an Aug. 21 assault, and cited intelligence reports as saying it killed at least 1,429 people, including more than 400 children. The videos show the victims exhibiting what appear to be symptoms of nerve gas poisoning.

“Those videos make it clear to people that these are real human beings, real children, parents being affected in ways that are unacceptable to anybody, anywhere by any standards,” Kerry said. “And the United States of America that has always stood with others to say we will not allow this – this is not our values, it’s not who we are.”

Kerry is in Europe trying to raise European support for a strike in Syria and also discussing Middle East peace negotiations.

Back in the U.S., the White House is making a big push to rally members of Congress. Lawmakers will consider a resolution authorizing the “limited and specified use” of U.S. armed forces against Syria for no more than 90 days and barring American ground troops from combat. Another bipartisan, classified briefing for Congress is set for Monday.

There is some question as to whether the videos amount to propaganda. For starters, their authenticity cannot be verified. And they raise many questions. Among them:

Many of the videos posted previously on YouTube depict men sprawled on a tile floor, shirtless and convulsing. Children, too, seemingly unable to control their shaking and flailing. Panic and screams in the background. (CNN)

Question: Where there are children, there would be women, but there is no mention of women by CNN. Why?

Sarin, estimated to be 500 times more toxic than cyanide, is fatal within one minute.

Why do the first responders, whoever they are, seem unaffected? Even a person’s clothing can release sarin for about 30 minutes after an attack.

~~~~~~~~
“Sarin has a high volatility (ease with which a liquid can turn into a gas) relative to similar nerve agents, therefore inhalation can be very dangerous and even vapor concentrations may immediately penetrate the skin. A person’s clothing can release sarin for about 30 minutes after it has come in contact with sarin gas, which can lead to exposure of other people. People who absorb a non-lethal dose but do not receive immediate appropriate medical treatment may suffer permanent neurological damage.” (Wikipedia)
Then how is it that the rooms depicted in all of the White House videos we’re seeing look so remarkably unsoiled?
Sarin often claims secondary victims. Were there any survivors? Where are they?
How is it that so many mainstream outlets managed to be there to film the panic scene on August 21st, when sarin death is documented to be so quick.
A GOP representative said
”The evidence is not as strong as the public statements the administration has been making.”
and he added
“There are some things that are being embellished in the public statements,
And he’s not the only one. Democrat Alan Grayson said flat out claimed the intelligence has been manipulated.
Grayson made the accusation in an interview published Wednesday by The Atlantic and offered more detail in a Thursday discussion with U.S. News. He says members of Congress are being given intelligence briefings without any evidence to support administration claims that Syrian leader Bashar Assad ordered the use of chemical weapons.
Grayson shocked innumerable blog readers when he revealed that he reads the Daily Caller:
He points to an article published by The Daily Caller that alleges the communications actually showed Syrian officers were surprised by the alleged chemical weapon attack. The communications, according to unnamed sources paraphrased in article, were intercepted by Israeli intelligence and “doctored so that it leads a reader to just the opposite conclusion.”
The thing is, Grayson is usually an Obama sycophant so one tends to pay attention when he says something like this.
That article, by Kenneth Timmerman, speaks of Syrian commanders being shocked that chemical weapons were used:
The doctored report was picked up on Israel’s Channel 2 TV on Aug. 24, then by Focus magazine in Germany, the Times of Israel, and eventually by The Cable in Washington, DC.
According to the doctored report, the chemical attack was carried out by the 155th Brigade of the 4th Armored Division of the Syrian Army, an elite unit commanded by Maher al-Assad, the president’s brother.
However, the original communication intercepted by Unit 8200 between a major in command of the rocket troops assigned to the 155th Brigade of the 4th Armored Division, and the general staff, shows just the opposite.
The general staff officer asked the major if he was responsible for the chemical weapons attack. From the tone of the conversation, it was clear that “the Syrian general staff were out of their minds with panic that an unauthorized strike had been launched by the 155th Brigade in express defiance of their instructions,” the former officers say.
According to the transcript of the original Unit 8200 report, the major “hotly denied firing any of his missiles” and invited the general staff to come and verify that all his weapons were present.
The alarmingly inept Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-Feckless) warns us that if we don’t strike Syria, Iran will nuke Charleston.
And the icing on the cake? Susan Rice will be briefing Congress on the reasons to bomb Syria.
The reason will be the video. Didn’t someone get arrested for something like this not long ago?
The alleged events on the video are appalling but when Obama is drumming up support for war with emotion in lieu of facts you know for certain something is very wrong with the story Obama is hustling.
