Looks like we have a new Republican lawmaker. Here is FORMER Louisiana Democrat state Senator Elbert L. Guillory:

With each passing day, I have become disappointed in the Democratic Party. What would be impact on schools due to immigration? One of the biggest disappointment has been breakdown of American families. Their policies have encourage the high teen birthrate, high school drop out rates, high unemployment. Children are encouraged to get the crazy check instead of honkering down to get an education. Minority unemployment is in the stratosphere.

Guillory coined the word “Scaredy Pants Crisis Management.” I want better for my country and Louisiana. We must help America find her path home. The people in this room today seek an alternative and solution to these problems of America. We have received some pretty good deal under the Republican Party. Republicans helped LBJ pass Civil Rights Act over OBJECTION of most Democrats. President Nixon left Vietnam and brought the money home and invested in America, Obama hasn’t done anything like that.

I pledged my dues and I look forward to creating new partnerships in the State of Louisiana. I am of this day joining Frederick Douglass as a Republican.

This comes the day after one of his collegues on the Democrat side called anyone who disagrees with ObamaCare racists….on the senate floor.

The content of your character Senator Guillory is a refreshing to the Grand Old Party. The Destiny of our Republic is One Destiny and we all need to work together so that it includes all people.

Welcome aboard Mr. Guillory!

And the NAACP starts demonizing Guillory in 3….. 2……

You see, they can’t have black Americans wandering off the government plantation. They have spent too much time and too much energy rehabilitating the reputation of Democrats who were the ones to block the Civil Rights Act and trying to change history showing Republicans as bigots and racists, not the Democrats. And for some (Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, et al) there is gold in them thar’ race pimping hills.

And, if you search back, you will see that it was Ike, a Republican, who tried to get civil rights passed , in the ’50s– but was stopped by the Senate Majority Leader, a Democrat- his name? Lyndon Baines Johnson.
