Had Obama been President on 9-11-01 [Reader Post]

Here’s how it would have been explained:

UN Ambassador Susan Rice: 9-11 Attack Was Spontaneous

Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the UN, said the attacks that killed 3000 Americans last Tuesday appears to be spontaneous demonstrations which were taken over by extremists.

“We do not have information at present that leads us to conclude that this was premeditated or preplanned,” Rice said on “Face the Nation” Sunday. “I think it’s clear there were extremist elements that joined and escalated the violence. Whether they were al Qaeda affiliates, whether they were US-based extremists or al Qaeda itself, I think is one of the things we’ll have to determine.”

But Yassir Arafat disagreed. He has said it was a well planned attack.

“It was planned, definitely, it was planned by foreigners, by people who entered the country a few months ago, and they were planning this criminal act since their arrival,” Arafat said Sunday.

Rice said it’s too early to say if security should have been tighter at the U.S. airports in Boston and Washington.

Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney said the attacks were due to a movie:

“The protests we’re seeing around the region are in reaction to this movie. They are not directly in reaction to any policy of the United States or the government of the United States or the people of the United States.”

That movie?

Executive Decision

Summary:

In this action thriller, a group of Islamic terrorists, led by Nagi Hassan (David Suchet), highjacks a 747 jetliner with 400 passengers aboard, but Lt. Col. Austin Travis (Steven Seagal), a United States intelligence agent, is convinced that this isn’t an ordinary case of air piracy. His suspicions are soon confirmed; Hassan’s men have obtained a large cache of stolen Soviet nerve gas, and they are using the 747 to smuggle the deadly gas into the United States, where they intend to use it to wipe out Washington D.C. and possibly the entire East Coast. As the jet approaches the U. S., engineer Dennis Cahill (Oliver Platt) designs a plan in which a military plane will be able to transfer U.S. soldiers onto the 747 and regain control of the plane and its deadly cargo. However, when Travis dies in the course of the mission, intelligence agent Dr. David Grant (Kurt Russell) is forced to take his place alongside explosives expert Cappy (Joe Morton), commando Rat (John Leguizamo), and stewardess-turned-anti-terrorist Jean (Halle Berry).

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was furious at the movie

US secretary of state Hillary Clinton on Thursday condemned an anti-Islam film which has sparked the 9-11 airliner hijacking “protests”, stressing that the US government had nothing to do with it.

“To us, to me, personally, this video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose, to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage,” Clinton said. “But as I said yesterday, there is no justification, none at all, for responding to this video with violence.” “Protests” erupted at several airports by demonstrators who deem the movie Executive Decision made in the United States as offensive to Islam because it named Muslims as terrorists.

President Obama assured Islamic nations that he would soon embark on an apology tour.

And Obama promised that Muslims would never again be the villains in US movies.
