Some of you might think there is no hatred in Northern Canada, you are wrong. There's plenty of hatred to go around. They just need to look past the normal avenues of hatred; because of the different people that are there.
It is fairly common to hate the native, but most families have native blood and relatives, so it becomes complicated. The different European nationalities often hate one another; except, they often become friends and do business with each other; consequently, a virulent hatred often withers on the vine. The people who live in town and the ones who live in the country are involved in a mutual distrust, but those hatreds are often defused through the necessity of doing business with each other.
One of the most profound and legitimate hatreds in the Peace River Country, is between cattlemen. Some of these ranchers are traditionalists and insist on raising the older European breeds like Hereford and Shorthorn. These guys are regarded with disdain by the more recent European importers of Chaolais and Simmental. These cattle are considered dual purpose cattle (beef and dairy) and are much larger; although, no one but the wild and crazy ones like myself ever try to milk these crazy monsters. Then there are the Angus men. They will often split up into the Polled Angus, Red Angus, and Black Angus sub-groups with animosity directed toward the others.
Now all of this hardly makes any sense at all, except some of the modern European Cattle will have larger weaning weights but require a longer finishing period in the feedlot. The truth is once the cattle are fed at the feed lot and processed, there is not a man alive that can tell the difference between an Angus steak and a Simmental steak, but the ranchers will never admit it. The feedlots are so good at feeding out cattle that they can feed dairy cattle and sell the carcass as US Prime #1, a cut of beef that is usually shipped overseas.
The arguments will rage and the tempers will flare over arguments that are silly and futile, but we as humans, if we are non-productive, need someone to blame for our misfortunes.
The only time I was involved in a hate relationship was in the Peace River Country. I had finished a service in the US military and college, then went back to the Peace River Country to work and try to straighten out my life.
I try to engage my customers in conversation. I have learned a wealth of information from people over the years. One of the men I met was a German millwright at one of the sawmills. I was actually working for his wife and she had already told me that her husband was an avid gun collector. Eventually, I met him. He was about ten or fifteen years older than me with blonde hair and a thick German accent.
He asked me direct questions about my military service and I gave him as much information as he should expect. He then told me if we had met 25 to 30 years earlier in Europe one of us would have died. I told him to the best of my knowledge, there were no Marines in Europe and for sure none of them were wearing diapers, trying to emphasize the difference in our ages. He had no sense of humor and he seemed to have no idea what Marines were and he informed me that he was a former member of the Hitler Youth. I smiled, finished my work and left with my check, while wondering what was wrong with this former Nazi who had immigrated to Canada.
I assumed I would never be called back to that particular job, but his wife called and I went to the job. He show up half way through and started pacing like a wild animal at the zoo. I could see the hatred boiling inside of him, but I worked on the horses and kept up a running conversation with his wife. As I was preparing to leave, he stopped by the truck to tell me if he ever saw me in the bush hunting he would shoot me. I thanked him for the warning and told him most of my shooting was from a distance and that if I ever saw him, in the bush, he would be a dead man. I smiled and never returned.
As luck would have it, my business grew and I was working internationally and no longer had time for the customers around the Peace River. Would I have shot him, yes indeed, he had already threatened me twice, that is more than enough warning for me. I didn't hate the man, but he was consumed with hatred for Americans and especially for me.
This same vile and stupid hatred has run amuck in Israel and the Middle East for hundreds if not thousands of years and the Liberals and our own president are petty enough to embrace it as a cause.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lives with millions of senseless haters all around him. He is not one man who can send a well placed round through the center of mass and let the bears and wolves destroy any trace of the incident. No not at all. he is a responsible leader in charge of the welfare of millions, he takes his job seriously instead of being focused on transforming his country according to a failed Socialist ideology.
He established himself as a leading statesman of the world and made Obama appear to be a sniveling amateur when he addressed the US congress. He expressed himself well and concisely laid out his position on the Israeli-Palestinian problem. Unlike Obama's rainbows and lollipops speeches, Ntanyahu dealt with reality and cold hard facts in front of congress and the American people. Without note cards or teleprompter, he showed Americans what a true orator and statesman sounds like.
There are problems in the Middle East and most of them relate to medieval Muslim hatred of the Jew, it is politely called anti-Semitism. The question of the Palestinian and his rightful place in the world is a dubious claim at best. Yet, Netanyahu handled the situation of Palestinian legitimacy and our president's sympathy for the Palestinian cause with grace and tact.
This is the land of our forefathers, the Land of Israel, to which Abraham brought the idea of one God, where David set out to confront Goliath, and where Isaiah saw a vision of eternal peace. No distortion of history can deny the four thousand year old bond, between the Jewish people and the Jewish land.
But there is another truth: The Palestinians share this small land with us. We seek a peace in which they will be neither Israel’s subjects nor its citizens. They should enjoy a national life of dignity as a free, viable and independent people in their own state. They should enjoy a prosperous economy, where their creativity and initiative can flourish.
So this is a classic Western — indeed a classic liberal Western — formulation. We have our rights but we also respect your rights. Let’s find a win-win situation that benefits everyone.
They were simply unwilling to end the conflict. And I regret to say this: They continue to educate their children to hate. They continue to name public squares after terrorists. And worst of all, they continue to perpetuate the fantasy that Israel will one day be flooded by the descendants of Palestinian refugees.
My friends, this must come to an end. President Abbas must do what I have done. I stood before my people, and I told you it wasn’t easy for me, and I said… I will accept a Palestinian state. It is time for President Abbas to stand before his people and say… “I will accept a Jewish state.”
These six words, “I will accept a Palestinian state” will alter history and make our president's pleas for the Palestinian cause an impotent argument.
Those six words will change history. They will make clear to the Palestinians that this conflict must come to an end. That they are not building a state to continue the conflict with Israel, but to end it. They will convince the people of Israel that they have a true partner for peace. With such a partner, the people of Israel will be prepared to make a far reaching compromise. I will be prepared to make a far reaching compromise.
In other words, once the Palestinians really acknowledge — which they have not done — the Jewish connection to the land, Israel will know they are a partner for peace and make more compromises.
The response of Abbas:
We say to him [Netanyahu], when he claims — that they have a historical right dating back to 3000 years — we say that the nation of Palestine upon the land of Canaan had a 7000 year history. This is the truth, which must be understood and we have to note it, in order to say: “Netanyahu, you are incidental in history. We are the people of history. We are the owners of history.”
Netanyahu has taken the Liberal approach, he is ready for a Palestinian state and Peace, but the Palestinians must be ready for peace. Abbas and his Palestinians are taking the role of the Fascist National Socialists of WWII and capitulation will be seized as a staging area for the final attack on Israel.
Predictably Abbas declared Netanyahu's speech a declaration of war. In effect, ending Obama's public support for his beloved Palestinians and making further efforts by Liberals at promoting the Palestinian cause seem like a waste of time and a contradiction of common sense.
This is a repetitious scenario that has been repeated in '48, '67, and '73. The Arab Muslims let their hatred of the jew boil over and they meet with biblical retribution. Without a doubt, our president and the Jew haters of the world believe if they hamstring Israel enough, they will be able to mount a successful war and annihilate the Jewish people once and for all.
I fear that many American Jews and our president are willing to risk the destruction of Israel as a form of appeasement or capitulation so that the Muclim fanatic will settle down. This is a fool's vision, the conquest of Europe and America will follow the annihilation of Israel, for no amount of capitulation will satisfy the blood lust of the haters of the Middle East.
Epilogue: Bebe Netanyahu's brother Yoni was killed in the Entebbe Raid, if there was a man who had a justification for hatred, you could say Bebe is that man. Yet, he offers peace, to a man who is consumed with hate. Here are some photos of Col. Yoni Netanyahu. of the Israeli Special Forces.
A professional horseman for over 50 years, Skook continues to work with horses. Skook has finished an historical novel, Fifty Thousand Years, that traces a mitochondrial line of DNA from 50,000 years ago to the present. The story follows a line of courageous women, from the Ice Ages to the present, as they meet the challenges of survival with grit and creativity. These are not women who whimper of being victims, they meet the challenges of survival as women who use their abilities without excuses or remorse, these women are winners, they are our ancestors.
Fifty Thousand Years is available in paperback and e-book, it is getting great reviews. You can purchase a copy here; Visit me on Facebook.

Netanyahu has done a good job of clearly defining the rules of the game so that no appeaser can allow Israel to be the first domino. Obama! A fool’s vision indeed. It’s hard to imagine the liberal Jews falling for it, but many do! Is it just stupid posturing, a proforma profile of themselves that belies logic? Insane.
Thanks for the post and Netanyahu’s background.
Good piece, Skookum. But I believe it is a fool’s errand that Netanyahu is on. The Muslims, especially the Palestinian Muslims, will never accept peace with Israel. Peace is not their goal. Anniliation of the Jew is their goal.
And Abbas wants to rewrite history, for it was the Jew, and not the Arab, that build cities in the land of Canaan, it was the Jew who created the markets, while the Arab tended their flocks, moving from land to land, area to area. It was the Jew who gave them much of the Qu’ran that they now claim gives them the right to destroy the Jew, for it was from the Torah that Mohammed took much and called it his words from God. It was the riches of the Jew that Mohammed lusted after, creating a religious war against the Jews to legitimize his actions as he raided and pilaged Jewish villages and towns for booty. For if religion was a minor matter, there would be no honest reason to steal from the Jew.
The former Nazi you encountered proves the theory of Antonio Gramsci, a devout Marxist. He believed that you had to indoctrinate the children, preferably by age 12, if you were to be able to hold them to Marxist views the rest of their lives. You Nazi, well he was indoctrinated by the Hitler youth, and although now a grown and perhaps even old man, he still held the beliefs that were put into his mind lo, those many years ago. He was a success model of Antonio Gramsci. And remember also, that it was a Muslim, Al Husseni, I believe, that designed the “final solution” for Hitler. And so, in true Gramsci, and Hitler style, the Palestinians indoctrinate their children; to hate the Jew.
I fear there is a great war looming. It will begin in the Middle East, and will spread across the globe like a cancer. The question is; when Israel is once again attacked, will the Western nations stand with Israel? And what happens in the Western nations that have allowed so many Muslim to immigrate to their nations? For it is planned to live among us and then to make war on us, as we in the west all share one thing; we are infidels.
Egypt has now agree to let Gazans cross their borders. We will see if Hamas allows the Gazans to go. But it opens the flood gates for arms to flow into the Gaza Strip. A very bad omen for Israel.
On another note, I recently heard mark Zuckerburgs response to Obamas suggestion. I’ve never been a fan of Zuckerburg, I had a facebook page for about a month before I realized how dangerous it is. I’ve seen with my own eyes employers checking facebook pages and googling your name prior to hiring, I guess its just ignorance but why do so many people put up those pictures of themselves at the bar acting stupid?…. However Mark’s feelings on the subject gained him some level of legitimacy in my eyes. At least he isn’t George Sorrows.
Unchained hate
Unchained hate – a Palestine melody
Sung by all in perfect harmony
Lies as part of the rhapsody
As they try to conspire
With the coming fire
Primordial bliss
To dismiss
Reality
Why
Born are we without hate
It is learned, and not fate
But stays with us past death
hate’s a legacy for your children
to leave, after your last breath
The sin of the father begs to ruin
Those left and others yet to be born
bear satan’s mark so proudly worn
without grace by your earthly form
This is a plague you carry with pride
To infect others like incoming tide
Be not proud, ye haters of life’s ride
For you are but flotsam and jetsam
mixed with the scum of humanity
History knows you as enemy of man
Your form of illness be it insanity
You and yours known as a sickly clan
One thing I’ll say about Obama:
He read that speech, parts of it twice, last week and has probably been paying more attention to the various parties reactions more than he paid to the same parties beforehand.
As a result, Obama has walked back three of his speech’s major demands.
1. Obama, himself, has now said this:
2. Obama added:
3. Obama: The UN can’t give the Palestinians a state
SOURCE
All the above makes me wonder if Obama is paying attention to others (not in his own inner circle) for the FIRST time.
Obama’s speeches were, as you rightly pointed out, just a pile of rainbows and lollipops.
But sometimes just saying the words ends up concentrating the mind.
I think, over the intervening days, Obama’s mind has been concentrated as much as it can be.
Hence the 180 degree flip-flop in those three areas.
But, like a cat that falls while asleep and lands badly, Obama will never acknowledge his speeches’ speciousness. He’ll maintain that, ” I meant to do that,” stance.
Yes Nan, Obama realized he had been made to look like an amateur and a fool by a man he underestimated. He had to go into damage control mode to lessen the negative effects. By appearing to agree with Netanyahu, he loses some of the Palestinian Ideologue characterization that he so willingly assumed.
On one hand we have Abbas, who appears to have the same mindset of a Nazi: on the other hand, we have Netanyahu, who seems to be a statesman in the Lincoln tradition. Obama had no choice, by siding with Abbas and his moronic demands, Obama’s political future would be a forlorn hope.
He has no choice but to side with those evil Jews, for they extended the olive branch in front of the American Congress, a move that was not overly coveted by the Jews of Israel, but Abbas, in buffoonish fashion, made a mockery of the peace effort by calling the offer a declaration of war.
Leaving Obama, locked out on the front porch in his Palestinian underwear. He had no choice! He had to backtrack or look like a complete ass to the rest of the world.
Does anyone believe the Iranians are concerned about the faux Palestinians and their homeland or is any other Arab nation concerned. They kill each other like flies and they want to destroy Israel and next on the agenda will be Europe and the US. The Palestinian cause is a ruse to confuse and keep the rest of the world mired in a guilt complex; until they are ready to strike a killing blow. They have no interest in peace, they merely use the American Left to run interference for them.
They will strike Israel, but the great ditherer will probably be choking his chicken while he waits to see how it plays out, before committing our military to help our ally.
Skook, thanks for your reflections on leadership real and imagined.
The Palestinian “right of return” would guarantee that the desert that has been turned productive by Israel’s hard work and ingenuity would be returned to desert fit for a Bedouin.
Sadly, there is even a species of “progressive” in Israel that would indulge in the suicidal desire to accommodate the PLO.
Skookum my friend if you will permit me I would love to add some points not so well known to the lamp you have lightened. First off you need to know who is making a commit to understand it’s value. But we do not have that pleasure with Mr. Obama and Mr. Abbas, both have a very interesting point, One by executive order has sealed both his wifes and his records from the public, the other like Hitler has removed all recognition of his evil history. Netanyahu has a clear and open public record. The truth is that Mr. Obama is a master of hate and his wife as well, while Abbas is really no less than another Hitler, and if he had the tools to wipe out Israel, he would do it in a minute! Let me share some facts with you. I am a Jew and a Israeli, I am a 5th generation Virginian and had 12 relatives who served under General Lee. I served on the Vaad Haptnim le Betiechon ( International Commitee for Security) Israel offered to Arafat 5 times everything he ask for and he refused it and even said the last time ” I want to sign but I cannot sign!” The truth is for the Palestinians is that they are a divied people with 26 terrorist groups with in, and they make peace with Israel they will self destruct from within. In short they need Israel as a enemey and object of hate to remain united. Obama on the other hand is serving an agenda. He is ignorant enough to do what others who control him, and enough of an idiot to screw up anything he does on his own. (this is why he has to have scripted speeches.) The US state department on the hand has and is using Iran as a strategic partner, and is actively involved in the disruption in the Middle East we have witnessed recently. Evil Governments rule through Chaos, need I say more! The American Jew is no different today than the Jews of Germany. With Jihadist Hillary and Obamination in the command center, not only Jews are in danger but all of us! Every freedom loving American is in danger and all that we have revered will soon disappear if Americans don’t wake up and put into power a new political body in place, because if you are counting on the Republicans to save you then you are no different than the Jews of europe in 1939.
Excuse me I made a mistake should read (Internal commitee for security) and not international.
Written like a true theologian. One of the defining characteristics of Fascism is its appeal to religion. If anyone were to analyze Netanyahu’s speech to Congress, they would find that he was actually agreeing with Obama, in its factual content. But ultra-conservatives respond only to key words–and that’s what they heard–this emphasis on key words gave them a whole different interpretation than the truth.
@liberal1(objectivity)
Rather than just make a statement and then leave the proof unsaid, please provide your proof. Obama mentioned that the starting point for negotiations should be the pre 1967 borders with land swamps. Netanyahu said the pre 1967 borders could not be defended and that the facts on the ground are totally different than pre 1967. The negotiations would not start with these borders and there would be NO negotiations for land or anything else until Hama, Abbas and everyone involved acknowledged Israel’s right to exist.
Now tell us again in your infinite wisdom how these two stated the same thing. Analyze Netanyahu’s speech for us with your brilliant liberal logic (now there is a hilarious concept if I ever wrote one).
Be very careful in your analysis as J.V. Hoffman just provided to you his credentials. Also you may want to know that I am a retired AF Hebrew linguist with a lot of time in the area and have a pretty good grasp of how to analyze situations based on factual data since that is how I made my living for many years.
J. V. Hoffman has a deep understanding of the Arab/Muslim mentality. No Israel means no enemy means tribal wars among themselves. The Arabs are divided into tribes and the tribes are brought together only in emergency events. Israel has been that event since 1949. How else do you think the local tyrants could keep power for so long – common enemies work out well for them as Hoffman rightly pointed out.
So on with your brilliant analysis and please provide evidence, facts and throw in a few of your credentials to make your analysis more believable. Have at it.
@Liberal1 (objectivity): I too, would love to read your analysis of just what part of Netanyahu’s speech to Congress agreed with Obama’s “return to pre-1967 borders” speech.
J.V., thank you for your detailed and meaningful commentary.
Part of my family is from Virginia and I know of the pride of the Virginian, the true Virginian and not the DC commuter.
I am writing as a non-Jew who admires the culture and the fighting spirit of Israel. It is understandable that I will have omissions and make errors, but it wont be for a lack of trying to present an accurate portrait.
The Jew of Europe and the other citizens of Europe and North America ignored the malignant cancer that was forming in the guise of National Socialism, they all shared equally in the guilt; however, the Jews, the homosexuals, and the gypsies bore the brunt of that denial. Even the allied high command decided not to release the extent of the atrocities; supposedly, to keep our civilian populations from engaging in rage? Curious, indeed.
I wrote that our current Republican leadership seems more like a ship of fools or a diluted version Democrats. I see the treachery and complacency and I have no faith in the Republican Party as it is presently constituted. However, they are the most viable weapon for defeating the Socialist lunacy in our midst. We can only work to restructure the party and rid it of corruption, cowardice, and incompetence.
Thanks again, I stand with Israel.
I don’t claim to know much on boarders, but I do know about Hamas they want to destroy Israel. As the rest of the middle east[I think], but I have been taught most of my life that God gave the jews Israel. I don’t expect they will be giving up anything any time soon.I stand with Israel.
Another swoop and poop by liberal #2
Skook, totally agree on the Netanyahu presence in Congress. He was intelligent, fluid, comfortable, and forthright. Most of all, he was NOT petty. The contrast to the missing-but-busy-travelling-teleprompter-carrier Obama was unmistakable. Endless numbers have remarked how much better Netanyahu would fit the office of President, than as you say, the “sniveling amateur.”
Sadly, the current Administration seems unable to grasp the realities of the ME. Israel’s challenge is not Palestinians. These vaguely defined people are prodded onto Israel’s borders by surrounding dictatorships.
Israel is the whipping post of all ME dictators, from Saudi Arabia to Syria. Israel is their best “great satan,” even more so than the U.S. Israel provides an effective religious “foreign” element that has for the last century, provided cover for the abuse of Arabs by their own leaders across the region.
Here’s an occasionally refreshing blog from an individual who became well known during the recent Egyptian demonstrations:
Rantings Of A Sandmonkey
. . . Unfortunately, too few Arabs in the ME hold such openness of mind.
The use of religion and ideology to affect consciousness, and to suppress populations are very powerful. Unfortunately for Israel, there is no end in sight to its stress, and its need for constant vigilance on its borders.
It’s good to have witnessed Netanyahu emphatically, but diplomatically reject Obama’s strange and inconsistent admonitions.
Dear Skookum,
I agree with what you wrote, do not think I was giving any negative criticism. Let me share with you some other factors. Eventhough I am a Israeli and a Jew we will set aside the fact that Israel (the Land) was promised and given to the son’s of Jacob, lets set that aside.
1. 92% of the land that is Israel today and even part of what was given to the “palestinians” was bought and paid for with hard cash. Even many of the so-called people who claim a “right of return” their grandfathers sold their property believeing that the Jewish State would fail and they would have both their money and land back in a short time.
2. While Arafat’s wife and many others have Billions in the world banks which much of that is highjacked US funding that they craftfully lodged banks in Switzerland, France, and Canada. While the palestinians go hungry.
3. Just to sharpen you focus Arafat was receiving 30% direct cut off of the Airport tax of the palestinian state, now it mostly goes to Hamas and Fatah.
4. Israel provides electricity to the now to the palestinian state since it’s conception and has only been paid for less than three years of it. Even with all of the missle attacks and Israel never cut the electricity for humanitary reasons.
5. News media manipulation: Most of the main news media in Israel is staffed and operated by Muslim and even palestinian reporters, cameras and crews. Only Reuters, BBC, CCN, and a few mainline news medias are not. However there is no Israeli or Jewish correspondents allowed in Gaza or Ramallah. Even the Red Cross personnel have to be Arabic or Islamic to get enterance.
Gentlemen I could write a book with the things that our government knows and is only rewarding Evil with good (good hard taxes dollars, our tax dollars).
The “Middle East Peace Process” should change it’s name to the Middle East misinformation and manipulation process. Just to throw you another tid-bit in the plate Israeli security warned the US concerning the September 11, type plot more than 36 times and 4 of the participants were named in more than 26 of those reports. 32 of those reports were issued during the Clinton Administration. Most of the reports expressed the possibility of them using the airplanes as an instrument, this information was also reported by the German Intelligence in relation to information recovered in the Hamburg Cell incidents.
The real enemy of both the American people is the Administration that thinks the objectives of the United Nations is more important than the functionability of our government, and who state department is more occupied with trying to by the favor of our enemies instead of putting fear in their minds. I would advise every american to subscribe to the State Department bulletins which are free by way of the internet. Learn what lunacy is being carried out by out government! While the news media is rocking the avergae american to sleep and brainwashing us to be sheep, while americans have lost any ability to manufacture and losing jobs and sleeping in tents when our administration is trying to buy terrorist and manipulate world politics. Just one logic question! What kind of president would address the United Nations and share the platform with Kadaffi, Chavez, and the Premier of Iran? Need more be said?
On a personal note Skookum, I am very proud to be a Virginian. Six of the US presidents came from Virginia and we had provided more Generals and Admirals than any other State. We never owned slaves but had many bond servents ( skilled craftsmen who were contracted to work against the cost of their passage.) Out of the 4000 plus acres our family held they were only allowed to keep some 400. Why? because we were to be made an example of! As concerning the Holocuast more than 70 disappeared. The only prejudice I have is to decide what enemy I would shoot first if given the chance again! I used to listen to the radio broadcast and hear the Syrian and Jordanian braodcast say thet they were not concerned with the US government, because they have their hands in the police, legistlation and military. However the only thing that really was prevent them from open terrorism was the red neck with his gun in the car! (that is a verbatim translation) However do not be deceived true muslims are good people, even many of their leaders like King Hamad of Bahrain, however they also are under attack by our State Department and the Evils of Iran (Shi-ites), I could share with you even videos that would prove the falsehoods projected by out media and the government that would put you in a state of shock.
You have to laugh at Liberals trying to rewrite history. Yani Netanyahu was a terrorist?Wrong! Try counter terrorist. The whole “Raid On Entebbe” movie is on youtube for a semblance of history. Dozens of books have been written on this, some with documentation. He’s not a terrorist killing highjackers and dieing at such a young age.
Skookum,
Read a book back in the early 80’s that was a compilation of letters that Yoni had written to family members when he was in the US. His intellect and understanding of geopolitical events was ammazing. He was a high school student when he wrote these letters. I couldn’t write letters that insitefull at the age of 60 with several degrees. The book reminded me of letters written by the founders. He was a serious loss to the world. His death was celebrated by the savages in the ME.
Thanks Chicken Thief, I will hunt those letters down. It will be a great way to expose part of the hypocrisy and deceit the Left has used in this Palestinian hoax.
J.V., I hope you stick around here for awhile. You have a lot of information that many of our Gentiles and Jews enjoy reading. There are many of us on these cyber pages who stand with Israel.
I went to college with a former Israeli paratrooper from the ’67 war and we had a great time telling stories about our service time and our home countries. I was fascinated by how every Israeli was considered a front line soldier. I’d be proud to share a foxhole with my old friend Niesie in Israel.
Any material you have that might make an interesting article, send to me, Skook at floppingaces@gmail.com. I will do the best I can. I have snow on the roof year round, but I can handle a rifle well and I know how to survive.
” You Got to Be Taught To Hate And Fear
” It’s Got to Be Drummed Into Your Dear Little Ear
” You’ve Got To Be Properly Taught
Lyrics: South Pacific (Richard Rogers)
Chicken Thief, thanks: “Self -Portrait of a Hero: from the letters of Jonathan Netanyahu, 1963-1976.”
There is some powerful prose within those pages.
SKOOKUM, you returned at the right time as usual, you always did before,
but this POST IS SO SPECIAL, it contribute to having a guest that has a lot of knowledge
he has my confidence that what he said is the truth, he confirmed what I picked up along the years of my observation: SKOOKUM, It took a men like you to have him come out and speak the truth,
and I stand with ISRAEL .
thank you for that
While Obama seems to have passion for Nothing, he gets his walking/talking papers from Valerie Jarrett. Jarrett has a history of association with communist, socialist causes, and of particular relevance to this discussion, has a history of anti-Israel sentiments, which have no doubt been affected by the fact that she was born in Iran and speaks Persian/Farsi.
Her sentiments are now claimed by Obama to be “America’s” sentiments.
Liberalism!
Where did our prestigious liberal go? He stated clearly that anyone could analyze the Netanyahu speech and see that he was agreeing with Obama. Where did he go?
Ha, my brother, the leftwing socialist fanatic, does the same thing to me all the time. When challenged to bring forth facts, logic and then provide credentials he goes SCS (Stone Cold Silent). He once promised to provide me with proof that Sarah Palin was an idiot and a fool. He honestly believed that she had made the Tina Fey comment about being able to see Russia from her back yard. When I showed him the transcript of the skit by Tina Fey, he went SCS.
I spent a year studying Hebrew in DC in preparation for my new assignment. All my instructors were Israeli and a couple were big time Zionists. These Zionists were not my favorite people, I will admit. They really had little use for the Hebrew God of the Old Testament. They were, however, serious human beings.
Here is an interesting concept I picked up along the way. The Israeli pilots would be just mediocre and average in the US Air Force. I have been told this by many AF instructor pilots who taught the Israelis. Just average but still capable. All one has to do is listen to a hotshot US Air Force pilot pulling heavy Gs under stress during a dog fight to believe every word these guys say. (GW Bush BTW was one of them and one cannot be a jetjock in the AF unless one is very very good and competent!)
ME pilots simply did not have the ability to compete. The early wars that Israel fought were with American pilots who happened to be Jewish. The Arabs were just one step away from riding camels. They had to learn things about mechanics and electronics that these American pilots grew up with. No comparison – like shooting fish in a barrel. I have no idea what the situation is like today, but would be surprised if it were any different.
I was not impressed with my trips to Israel. These people are way too serious for me. Way too serious! I felt uncomfortable everywhere I went. The Jewish people, especially in New Jerusalem, were way too much like the people in New York, cross, arrogant and rude (and, surprise, most of them were from NY).
My love was for the Arab Christians I met in Old Jersusalem.
On one trip, the Camp David accords had just finished and everywhere we went among the Christians, people would grab us with greetings of “Camp David,” pull us into their shops and feed us tea and Christian hospitality. I still think about these events to this day.
As much as I found the Israelis to be rather rude and sharp, I despised the Palestinians (not all but enough of them) because of their total contempt for Westerners and Christians. These people are not nice and are fanatics. The ones living inside Israel had more freedom than anywhere else in the ME, yet, they hated and hated bigtime!
So, liberal, wherever you are hiding, come out and prove us all wrong with your brilliant logic, your brilliant analysis and provide us with your credentials. I am not a liberal and that means I will change my mind when confronted by truth. The challenge remains.
Chill, hi, nice of you to come,
you know, the ISRAELI are serious, and not nice at the time you visit,
IT made me think of how I would be more than cranky and serious, looking at a total stranger,
because they sleep with rocket pointed at them, and another reason, is that many lost their loved one,
specialy in those times, they where attacked often. bye
Liberal1[objectivity]
what objectivity do you claim to have,
except for being, just being nothing else, that’s liberal
Chill my friend I love it!!!! but I have found that most liberals suffer from two deseases when confronted with the truth! Not only SCS sydrome as you quoted but CRS syndrome as well. (can’t remeber S@#*) as well. Do you know what you can get with a $1.69 and a liberal? A cup of coffee! after you pay the taxes because liberals always are tax exempt!
@ilovebeeswarzone:
I did not say I did not understand, I said I was not comfortable while there. I did understand and very well since my job was to look at intelligence and make sense of it in reports to various agencies.
I have also lived for three years in Cambodia right after that country settled its differences with the Khmer Rouge and had free elections. The Cambodians went through a lot more than the Jews, having lost about half their entire population to a group of people who made Hitler look like a saint. I found the Cambodians to be wonderful, albeit a bit dangerous if one pushed them a bit. The inner souls of people can be seen if one tries. Loved the Cambodians, for they are truly a beautiful people.
But as one of my students (Muslim from Bangladesh) stated, the Israelis and the Palestinians deserve each other. Exceptions are everywhere, but Israelis are a very arrogant and ruthless people. Having said that, they have my full support as a bona fide nation. I respect them for their drive and seriousness but that does not mean I have to like them as a people.
Chill yes, I say that a race having gone through what they did is enough to get suspicious at strangers,
no matter how nice a person is naturaly. it change their views on the other humans
bye
Thanks for the info on his brother! I did not know that, and will know research it. Another interesting and well written article Skooum. Keep up the good work. sometimes I think that they the Israeli leadership has to know that they will never have peace with some of their neighbors. Never. Hate like your poem points out is one of the most insidious emotions that humans can have. The hate directed against Israel is not just based on religion as you know, but other characteristics of the Israeli people as well. Its hate that has been entrenched in their enemies for thousands of years, that no matter what anyone does it will not just disappear over nite. I look at the hate here in America between whites and blacks and browns that began here in America a couple of hundred years ago, and we still have it always poping up, and being used for political purposes. Hate between brown and white, especially here in Texas. Not all people, but some. Some browns believe that we stole their lands and want us all out. They want illegal aliens to be free to come and go as they please, and don’t see them as illegal. Its insane. There are some brown groups that want all the street names, schools, etc.. in Texas cities to be renamed in spanish. Insanity to the utmost. My point is that liberals like Obama are immature and unrealistic to think that Israel can go back to the 1967 borders. And that the sick and twisted hate that exists towards Israel will takes decades to overcome. And for the record many Hispanic people I know refuse to buy into that kind of thinking demonstrated by other hispanics. Some don’t even know how to speak spanish.
Gary G. Swenchonis,
you said it better than me,
bye
CHILL, that is your take on ISRAELI, but if they are so arrogant as you say,
they would have already take on their neighbord’s hate and pulverise them,
as far as your friend the MUSLIM, said they deserve each other, that should have ring a bell to a person specialy in the intelligence work that you do,
and I should say to be aware of the fact to never turn your back on him,
a friend that think like that is not to be trusted.
@ilovebeeswarzone:
Have you visited Israel? Do you have or have you ever had Israeli (especially Zionist) friends or acquaintances? I expressed an opinion based on experience at many different levels. Do not dare question my support for the right of Israel to exist. I fully support that right. But you and others need to step away from your emotionally-based and emotionally-driven blind support for anything and everything that Israel does. Again, I understand where they are coming from and why they act the way they do. I support most of these actions with my eyes wide open and not shut. The term arrogance does not imply stupidity or careless disregard for common sense. Nor does it imply blatantly unethical behavior.
While in Jerusalem, we met a very nice and intelligent Palestinian at a restaurant. His English was superb as was his Hebrew. He charmed us so much that we invited him to come along with us after he got off work. We had a marvelous time but at 11 PM he became very agitated and began to act paranoid. We asked why and he said that he had to get to his house before the Israeli police or military found him on the street and beat him up. He was very scared. The Israelis (for the most part) treat their Arab citizens with disrespect and contempt. The Jews are God’s Chosen People just as much as their Muslim counterparts believe that they are Allah’s Chosen People. It is difficult for me to justify this attitude by either side. Deserving each other is an appropriate comment under these circumstance and that student remains a cherished and close friend even to this day. Not all Muslims fit your apparent stereotype of untrustworthiness.
Israel cannot now nor ever be fully trusted. We have seen this time and time again over the last several decades. They have their national agenda and we have ours. They are constantly under attack, physically and propaganda wise and that motivates them as a serious people. I respect that. However, history reveals some truths that we should know and understand.
Check out the USS Liberty incident that occurred on June 8, 1967 where we lost 34 crewmen from an Israeli blatant attack. Most were Hebrew and Arab linguists. An ongoing controversy that has never been fully responded to by Israel.
Check out the cases of Jonathan Pollard and Ben-Ami Kadish, Both are American citizens who were spying for Israel, had Israeli handlers and were actively involved in illegally gaining access to some of most classified secrets in the US. One particular document that these guys obtained was the RASIN (Radio Signal Notations) the mother lode of intel documents. Remember, Israel is our friend, right?
I worked for the Navy Admiral who demanded that Pollard retain his security clearances even after the NIS advised him that Pollard was a risk. This admiral was the worst military officer I have ever had the displeasure to work for.
During your research into the Pollard case you will see that Netanyahu, in the past, has demanded the release of this scumbag traitor. In fact, there is an ongoing effort at several different levels in Israel and among Congressional Jews to get Pollard released. Ahhh, but Israel is our really good friend, right?
After the Yom Kippur War of 1973, Israel, upon the US request, sent a detailed accounting of the military equipment they had lost so that we could assist in their rebuilding as per agreements. The number of tanks, artillery and other equipment they claimed as having been destroyed was criminally exaggerated. We knew precisely how many tanks and other equipment they had lost down to when and where they lost them. Now convince me that Israel can be blindly trusted.
As Reagan once famously stated – trust but verify. Like any nation, Israel puts their priorities above the priorities of the US. TRUST BUT VERIFY.
Chill, yes I had detected in your previous comment where you branded the people of arrogance,
that is not from my emotions to give a reply, it was your statement on a total NATION, and now as you explain the arrogance came from a few of them that you encounterd,I don’t trust blindly as you mentionned, again falsely, on a few of us, there is no fools here saying that.
good that you reveal more of your insight enough for me to understand why that disapproval
on their attitude.
bye
@Chill: You said:
Because there is greed and corruption in a country doesn not mean they are not our ally. If that were the case, then America would have NO allies.
They “criminally exaggerated” the number of lost military equipment because someone in their government was greedy, not because they were Israeli.
The Pollard case had nothing to do with greed and corruption but spying on an ally. Pollard had an Israeli handler, former Minister Rafi Eitan which means the Israeli government was very much part of the espionage. Allies do not run espionage ops against each other. Defense Attaches are the accepted mode of gathering information among allies. SIGINT, ELINT and IMINT are acceptable methods to gain information about one’s allies. HUMINT is never done because it involves setting up spies who generally are traitors to their country.
The case is controversial for some but not for me and most of the intel community. One signs some pretty strict legally binding documents when one handles classified information of the type Pollard had access to. Turning that information over to another country is treason no matter what country is involved. That is why HUMINT is not carried out among allies – the human cost is just to diplomatically sensitive and too dangerous politically. YEt, here we have Israel, our allie, running an espionage ring against us exactly the same manner that they ran such ops against Egypt, Syria and other enemies.
The exaggerated list of destroyed military equipment was presented from one government to another and thus the entire government of Israel is culpable. The list was presented in hopes of strengthening their military at the expense of the American taxpayers beyond what the treaty called for.
Greed and corruption has nothing to do with the Israeli situation. They will take advantage of us at every opportunity to further their national agenda. That is called Realpolitik. Americans need to take the same attitude toward Israel as they take toward us. TRUST but always VERIFY.
I am as strong a supporter of Israel and Israel’s right to exist as anyone on this blog or anywhere else. I, however, support Israel from a position of experience and not emotions. They cannot be trusted and, guess what, that is why there are HEBE linguists in the world.
People have emphasized Israel’s response to Obama’s speeches.
But what about the other states in the area?
Eleven Middle East and North African rulers have spurned Obama’s Middle East policy as expressed in his speeches.
Every leader from that area (except Erdogan of Turkey)who is still in power is distancing himself from Obama and the US.
There are two forms of distancing oneself from Obama/USA:
Eight former American allies headed by the Saudi royal family stand with and against Obama/USA this way……
Saudi spokesman Nawaf Obaid:
“In some issues, such as counterterrorism and efforts to fight money laundering, the Saudis will continue to be a strong US partner,” he wrote. “In areas in which Saudi national security or strategic interests are at stake, the kingdom will pursue its own agenda. The oil for security formula is history… The special relationship may never be the same…”*
Saudi King Abdullah has already swept the half a dozen GCC (Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf) behind the separate security and strategic policies he is pursuing independently of the US and often diametrically opposed to Obama’s course.
He has invited Jordan, Morocco and Yemen to join the group.
The suggestion put by Jordanian monarch Abdullah II to Obama this week that the US transfer its sponsorship of the Israel-Palestinian issue to the GCC underscored the rising power of the new Gulf grouping and was firmly rejected.
_______________
The second camp consists of four anti-US Arab rulers, Syria’s Bashar Assad, the Libyan Muammar Qaddaf, President Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen and King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa of Bahrain, all of whom have resorted to armed violence to suppress the pro-democracy movements sponsored by President Obama.
Saudi Arabia is propping the Bahraini and Yemen regimes up with cash, arms, military assistance and intelligence.
All four are determined to do whatever it takes to avoid the fate that befell Hosni Mubarak.
Mubarak is soon going to be tried by Egyptian courts for his ”crimes.”

SAUDI ARABIA GIVES UP ON WASHINGTON; VOWS TO LEAD THE “ARAB WORLD” AGAINST IRANIAN “AGGRESSION”
@Chill: So you are saying that the ENTIRE government of Israel consented and effected policy to work against the United States of America??
How? Did they pass a resolution? Was it enacted as a law? Did their Prime Minister produce their equivalent of our Executive Order?
Chill,no I have not gone to Israel but I have had friends that have, they told me they were treated very well, maybe it was your attude I don’t know. But If I was bombed and shot at all my life I might tend to be a little careful of folks.Go back to Cambodia.
@wildbill: @wildbill:
Notice how when you do not agree with someone you wish them to disappear.
“Go back to Cambodia” is a phrase that a liberal would use when he or she cannot defend a position. Be a conservative and defend your position with truth, logic and facts.
I am not saying that all Israelis did this or all Palestinians did that. I was describing an overall feeling I had while in Israel based on knowledge and experience. I was not a wide-eyed tourist running around doing oohs and aahs at the many religious sites (although I visited them) and being among God’s Chosen People.
I was an analyst with extensive background and knowledge of what was going on and trying to figure out why and then present information for people to make decisions.
Once again, your “go back to Cambodia” comment brings discredit upon you and your opinions. Defending the actions of a country based on emotions is liberalism, pure and simple. I have stated over and over that I understood where they are coming from. I support their right to exist to such an extent that I would (if given the opportunity) help them defend this right.
Listen to your friends, they are the experts and live your emotionally based life on what they say and not logic. Most Americans do that who have traveled only as tourists or never traveled outside the US. Attacking me does not change the facts on the ground.
@anticsrocks:
Is this really your argument? You need to give some thought as to what you are trying to imply.
Iran, for example, is an enemy of the US. The government is the most dangerous and evil government in the ME. They, IMHO, have caused more American deaths than any other government. Does that mean that all Iranians are evil?
The Obama administration has done some pretty horrific things in the past two years including throwing US allies under a lot of buses. Does that mean that Americans are individually responsible for all of the Obama decisions? Silly, isn’t it.
Rather than put a bunch of straw man arguments to attack, discuss the Pollard situation and explain to me why the majority of Israelis look upon him as a hero instead of the traitor he really is.
Show me how I am wrong in my thinking when I bring up the USS Liberty situation or the false documentation in the equipment requests. Tell me how such a great friend would do such things. The damning espionage ops against the US on US soil is very telling. Go do the research on Pollard keeping in mind that he was paid and that the Israeli intel service is better than ours when it comes to the ME. Pollard’s arguments rang hollow when he said we were not sending all the intel that Israel needed. He stole info that went way beyond Israelis perceived needs and there is pretty good evidence that the Israelis repackaged it and sent it on to the Soviets in return for allowing Jews to leave that country.
I defend Israel but I do not blindly trust them as you seem to. Americans are like that, yes they are!
By the way chill I am far from being a liberal,I have a brain.
@wildbill:
I kinda knew you were not a liberal. But, I think you would agree that a liberal would have tried to make me disappear when unable to defend a position.
I expressed an opinion and presented you the reason for my opinion. Opinions can be wrong. I expected you to present information in the form of facts and logical reasoning why I may be mistaken.
You presented me, however, with two distinctly liberal concepts:
1. Since I do not agree with your emotionally held (must be emotional since no facts or experience presented) then I should just go back to Cambodia, Thailand, China or somewhere else so you can continue to hide behind your emotions. Very liberal method of dealing with facts.
2. Since I do not agree with you and your tourist friends, then it must be my fault, my attitude or something else in my flawed character. This, of course, is very liberal since no liberal can ever be wrong and since all one’s liberal friends agree with their position. Liberals are always right and anyone who disagrees must, therefore, have a flawed character. Point is, you do not know me well enough to judge how well I get along with other people or how well I interact with people in their own country. Your assumptions about me may just be a tad bit based on your emotionally held conviction that Israel as a country is above reproach. But then, I, too, could be wrong.
Please remember that I am only expressing an opinion.
As I chill,by the my friends lived over there 4 years, they were not tourist.
@wildbill:
So they were Jewish, right?
You still did not address my reasons for why I hold the opinions I do.
Justify Pollard and the Israeli’s government espionage on US soil. The Israeli government was asked point blank to reveal the exact documents received and what exactly they did with these documents. To this day, they have refused to do this. Trusted friends, you argue. Please explain.
No my friends were not Jewish,I will find out at a later date what they were doing over there,as for the pollard case I am sorry to say I do not have a clue, see chill I dont’t have have all the answers but am willing to learn.I promise I will get back to you on my friends.
