Sarah Palin edition. You must watch this speech in its entirety. She gave it yesterday in Madison, WI, and it was a barnstormer.

Johh Nolte at Big Government:

If Sarah Palin’s not running for president, what a terrible waste that would be of the single best stump speech I’ve heard since, well, Palin’s ’08 convention speech, which just happened to be the single most electrifying political moment of my adult life. A thrill didn’t just run up my leg that night, it ran up everything in me that’s American, and today in Madison, WI, it happened again. Surrounded by an obnoxiously hostile, astro-turfed, pro-union crowd that tried and failed to drown out her message with obnoxiously hostile astro-turfed noise, the former Alaskan Governor took the fight directly to the growing pile of Obama’s failures in the most effective way we’ve heard yet from a potential GOP challenger.

If you want to know why Obama’s Palace Guards in the MSM are determined to destroy this woman and all of popular culture has risen up to help, press PLAY. If you want to know why the GOP Establishment had better start looking over their collective shoulders, press PLAY.

Transcript of the speech:

Hello Madison, Wisconsin! You look good. I feel like I’m at home. This is beautiful. Madison, I am proud to get to be with you today. Madison, these are the frontlines in the battle for the future of our country. This is where the line has been drawn in the sand. And I am proud to stand with you today in solidarity.

I am here today as a patriot, as a taxpayer, as a former union member, and as the wife of a union member. What I have to say today I say it to our good patriotic brothers and sisters who are in unions. I say this, too, proudly standing here as the daughter of a family full of school teachers. My parents, my grandparents, aunt, cousins, brother, sister – so many of these good folks are living on teachers’ pensions, having worked or are still working in education.

A pension is a promise that must be kept. Now, your Governor Scott Walker understands this. He understands that states must be solvent in order to keep their promises. And that’s what he’s trying to do. He’s not trying to hurt union members. Hey, folks, he’s trying to save your jobs and your pensions! But unfortunately some of your union bosses don’t understand this, and they don’t care if union members have to be laid off. No, they want to protect their own power, and if that means forcing a governor to lay off union workers, then so be it; they’ve proven that that is fine with them. But that’s not real solidarity! Real solidarity means coming together for the common good. This Tea Party movement is real solidarity!

Well, I am in Madison today because this is where real courage and real integrity can be found. Courage is your governor and your legislators standing strong in the face of death threats and thug tactics. Courage is you all standing strong with them! You saw the forces aligned against fiscal reform. You saw the obstruction and the destruction. You saw these violent rent-a-mobs trash your capital and vandalize businesses.

Madison, you held your ground. Your governor did the right thing. And you won. Your beautiful state won. And you know what – people still have their jobs because of it! That’s courage. And that’s integrity. And that’s something that’s sorely missing in the Beltway today.

Because let me tell you what isn’t courageous: It’s politicians promising the American voters that, as we drown in $14.5 trillion debt, that they’re going to cut $100 billion out of this year’s budget. But then they cave on that and they reduce it down to $61 billion after they get elected. Then they get in there and they strike a deal and decide, nah, they will reduce that down to $38 billion. And then after some politics-as-usual and accounting gimmicks, we find out it’s not $38 billion in cuts. You know that $38 billion – we don’t have it; we’re borrowing it. We borrow from foreign countries to give to foreign countries, and that’s insanity. We find out it’s not even $38 billion; it’s less than $1 billion in real cuts. Folks, that $352 million in real cuts – that’s no more than the federal government is going to spend in the time it takes us to hold this rally today! That is not courage; that’s capitulation!

Now, there’s a lesson here for the Beltway politicos, something they need to understand; the lesson comes from here in Madison. So, our lesson is to the GOP establishment first. And yeah, I’ll take on the GOP establishment. What more can they say about us, you know?

So, to the GOP establishment: if you stand on the platform, if you stand by your pledges, we will stand with you. We will fight with you, GOP. We have your back. Together we will win because America will win!

We didn’t elect you just to re-arrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic. We didn’t elect you to just stand back and watch Obama re-distribute those deck chairs. What we need is for you to stand up, GOP, and fight. Maybe I should ask some of the Badger women’s hockey team—those champions—maybe I should ask them if we should be suggesting to GOP leaders they need to learn how to fight like a girl!

And speaking of President Obama, I think we ought to pay tribute to him today at this Tax Day Tea Party because really he’s the inspiration for why we’re here today.

That’s right. The Tea Party Movement wouldn’t exist without Barack Obama.

You see, Candidate Obama didn’t have a record while he was in office; but President Obama certainly has a record, and that’s why we’re here. And hey, media, it’s not inciting violence and it’s not hateful rhetoric to call someone out on their record, so that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to do it to be clear. That’s right: we’re here, we’re clear, get used to it!

Candidate Obama promised to be fiscally responsible. He promised to cut the deficit; but President Obama tripled it!

Candidate Obama promised that fiscal responsibility; but President Obama flushed a trillion dollars down the drain on a useless “stimulus” package and then he bragged about the jobs he “created” in congressional districts that don’t even exist! That’s right; on this, White House, you lie. The only thing that trillion-dollar travesty stimulated was a debt-crisis and a Tea Party!

Now, the left’s irresponsible and radical policies awakened a sleeping America so that we understood finally what it was that we were about to lose. We were about to lose the blessings of liberty and prosperity. They caused the working men and women of this country to get up off their sofas, to come down from the deer stand, get out of the duck blind, and hit the streets, come to the town halls, and finally to the ballot box. And Tea Party Americans won an electoral victory of historic proportions last November. We the people, we rose up and we decisively rejected the left’s big government agenda. We don’t want it. We can’t afford it. And we are unwilling to pay for it.

But what was the president’s reaction to this mandate for fiscal sanity?

Less than 90 days after the election, in his State of the Union address, President Obama told us, nah, the era of big government is here to stay, and we’re going to pay for it whether we want to or not. Instead of reducing spending, they’re going to “Win The Future” by “investing” more of your hard-earned money in some cockamamie harebrained ideas like more solar shingles, more really fast trains – some things that venture capitalists will tell you are non-starters. We’re flat broke, but he thinks these solar shingles and really fast trains will magically save us. So now he’s shouting “all aboard” his bullet train to bankruptcy. “Win The Future”? W.T.F. is about right.

And when Wisconsin’s own Paul Ryan presented a plan for fiscal reform, what was Obama’s response? He demonized the voices of responsibility with class warfare and with fearmongering. And I say personally to our president: Hey, parent to parent, Barack Obama, for shame for you to suggest that the heart of the commonsense conservative movement would do anything to harm our esteemed elders, to harm our children with Down syndrome, to harm those most in need. No, see, in our book, you prioritize appropriately and those who need the help will get the help. The only way we do that is to be wise and prudent and to budget according to the right priorities.

Now, our president isn’t leading, he’s punting on this debt crisis. The only future Barack Obama is trying to win is his own re-election! He’s willing to mortgage your children’s future to ensure his own. And that is not the audacity of hope. That’s cynicism!

Piling more debt onto our children and grandchildren is not courage. No, that’s cowardice!

But did you notice when he gave that polarizing speech last week there was a little gem in the speech. Maybe you missed it. But he spoke about the social contract and the “social compact.” Well, Mr. President, the most basic tenet in that social compact is adhering to the consent of the governed. That would be “We the People.” President Obama, you do not have our consent. You didn’t have it in November. And you certainly don’t have it now. You willfully ignored the will of the American people.

You ignored it when you rammed through Obamacare.

You ignored it when you drove up the debt to $14.5 trillion.

You ignored it when you misrepresented your deficit spending.

You ignored it when you proposed massive tax increases on the middle class and our job creators.

You ignored is when you went to bat for government-funded abortions and yet you threw our brave men and women in uniform under the bus, Mr. Commander in Chief.

You ignored it when you got us into a third war for fuzzy and inconsistent reasons, a third war that we cannot afford.

You ignore it when you apologize for America while you bow and kowtow to our enemies, and you snub our allies like Israel.

And you ignore when you manipulate the U.S. oil supply. You cut off oil development here and then you hypocritically praise foreign countries for their drilling.

And when hardworking families are hit with $4 and $5 a gallon gas and your skyrocketing energy and food prices as you set out to fundamentally transform America, you ignore our concerns and you tell us we just better get used to it.

Well, Mr. President, we’re not going to get used to it. Not now. Not ever. You ignored us in 2010. But you cannot ignore us in 2012.

Mr. President, you and your cohorts threw all the hatred and all the violence you could at these good folks in Madison, Wisconsin. But you lost here.

And Madison, you defended the 2010 electoral mandate. You are heroes, you are patriots, and when the history of this Tea Party Movement is written, what you accomplished here will not be forgotten.

Your historic stand brought down the curtain on the last election. And the 2012 election begins here.

We will take the courage and the integrity that you showed all of America. We will take it and we will win back our country!

God has shed His grace on thee, America. We will not squander what we have.

We will fight for America! And it starts here in Madison, Wisconsin!

It starts here! It starts now! What better place than the state that hosts the Super Bowl champs, to call out the liberal left and let them know: Mr. President, game on!

God bless you, Wisconsin, and God bless America!

Tears of joy and goosebumps! What a great speech! Game on! A true American patriot and inspirational orator! Taking the fight to the man in the WH! If she runs, I am all in!

She has my vote.

Not marching…but sauntering into the belly of the beast…BRAVO!.

Palin has honed her skills well and fast.

When she was Governor of Alaska, what she delivered for her constituents from her kick-ass negotiations with the oil companies were better than the deliverables of any Governor in America.

This “barnstormer” as you call it Curt, is the kind of address which Obama in his dreams cannot deliver. He can’t talk without lying, and badly at that. He also always reverts do divisive diatribes. He has neither the intelligence nor the ability to write such an address. And a barnstormer must be delivered without teleprompters.

. . . It’s great to hear her seriously accurate and well delivered stabs at Obama’s repeated mistakes and incompetence. Barnstormer, . . . no kidding.

it really is a shame how well the MSM did in ruining Palin in 08. Im afraid because of that she is unelectable… it really is a shame.

(this is in no way intended to be a bash on her. she has a great message and is a talented speaker… but average voters will not take enough time to listen past the SNL jokes)

In the den of the enemy camp, with the heart of a lion, we have just heard the first rally cry of our next president. I told you guys she was just laying in wait to bring them to her. She has the remarkable ability to make the guys in the GOP ‘establishment’ look like a bunch of pansies. When all of the other supposed candidates are ‘safely’ making their speeches, she heads right into the fray. There is no fear in her, and once again I’m encouraged by her. Can you imagine the first speech she will make to our troops?? 4 words,,,,go get ’em boys!!!!!

I have listened to her speeches, watched her TV show, and received first-person reports on her from people who have met her. I love what she stands for, and will vote for her in the primaries, assuming she runs for President.

If you Google OBAMA CARTOON MONKEY (OR APE) you’ll get tons of cartoon drawings of Obama as an ape and/or monkey. As a matter of fact, if you Google CARTER CARTOON MONKEY, you’ll get cartoons of Jimmy Carter as a monkey/ape, too. All of those opposed to cartoons fit right in with the Muslims wanting to kill those who draw images of Muhammad. You can all go pound sand. This is America.

Freedom of Speech, Press, etc. in America.

I remember Reagan was demeaned in a similar manner as Palin. The media wasn’t as nasty then, but for the times, they were hostile. I think the media has lost a lot of credability since the 2008 election. If Palin wins the nomination, I think she can beat Obama. It will come down to those who will always vote for Dems plus those who will always vote for or against race. Then there will be those who will vote for Palin because of her values and the subsequent proof of her 2008 statements. Then there will be the voters who will vote against the current administration. As long as there is an electorial college, Palin can win.

“” GAME ON “”
It is time to hitch the wagons and unite by forming a consoldated front of top flight statesmen ready and experienced to restore the finacial integrity of our great nation. The GOP establishment has vested interests in the primary process for reasons that, under current conditions , would be implosive and self-destructive. The stakes are beyond reach and nothing need be wasted on events like the “Iowa Causus” or that nut case dog and pony show “New Hampshire Primary”. If we quibble and squibble then it is Barack “Barry” O’BabyCakes til 2016 or longer. Hugo Chaves has outlined a roadmap to destroy constitutions and to believe smug that nothing that drastic is possible is niavitie in spades so look at the next 18 months as up against the wall or trapped in a Castroite prison dreaming constant for freedom and liberty because it is our American Way of Life which is at risk.
“” TO THE REPUBLIC “”

Our statesman wears a skirt.

I read on Drudge that half of US households pay no federal income tax. WTF. You guys are gonna are heading to a flat tax and a huge consumer tax. Start paying. Yes I pay huge taxes in the US.

Encana Corp( I know these guys ) is going to double natural gas production in Wyoming within 10 years. I heard 3400 shallow gas wells. You got bucks, start investin. Capitalism sucks doesn’t it? This is new and a freebie. Encana is the world leader in natural gas production and is, of course rock solid. To all conservatives on FA, jump on it. The Alberta government back these guys.

Sorry to go off topic, but can somebody please explain to me how the country can automatically go into default if its debt ceiling isn’t raised?

When the T-bills “mature”-that means comes due, the government won’t be able to pay off these maturing bonds/bills since they will no longer be able to borrow any more money when coupled with our massive spending on all sorts of projects.

Game over at that point.

The Republicans don’t have the guts to bring it all crashing down upon the heads of DC. Thus, they’ll sell you, your kids and your grand-kids into debt-slavery all to save the bankers, Wall Street pricks and government bureaucrats.

Debt slaves. That’s our fate and the Republicans let it happen.

God has shed His grace on thee, America. We will not squander what we have.

She brings up an interesting point: Has God bless us? And if so, why?

I mean one could argue that he used to bless us because we used to be a god-fearing nation which held God’s laws in the highest of esteem, but now? If God blessed us because we respected him and his word, should we expect him to bless us now? 45 million innocent children murdered in their mother’s womb make a great argument for God removing his blessing upon us, wouldn’t you say?

If one argues good things happened to the US 50, 100 or 200 years ago because we had God’s blessing, wouldn’t it makes sense that the little downward spiral we’ve been on since the 1960s and 70s may very well be because we as a nation have turned our back on God?

Perhaps Palin should make it clear that it was “Blessed” in the mega-past tense and it doesn’t necessarily pertain to today’s America?

Just saying.

Dave, they got the new tax receipts and as far as money presses can go. After that who the hell is going to buy the t-bills and bonds? I forgot that they can call loans and that will start the dominoes.

I just read the Ivan postings. Don’t give the bamster your credit card. He’s just another black in government housing. Do you feel stimulated or tarped?
That’s 2 years worth of borrowing at the current pace. Maybe the community agitater can hustle more.

Oil Guy said:

. Don’t give the bamster your credit card. He’s just another black in government housing. Do you feel stimulated or tarped?

Wow, so it’s all Obama’s fault? You’re not from the US? I’ll assume not, but ALL spending originates in the House of Representatives in our nation. Who is in control of the US House?

The Republicans.
This year, under Republican leadership we’ll see record government spending and record deficits. All under the tutelage of the Republican Party.

Blaming Obama isn’t the answer. Holding perfidious Republicans accountable for their MASSIVE government spending is the answer.

@Ivan:

Blaming Obama isn’t the answer. Holding perfidious Republicans accountable for their MASSIVE government spending is the answer.

Wrong, Ivan. Holding all government officials accountable for the outrageous spending habits of the government in general is the answer. While your continuing on in your rants against the GOP, and calling commenters here out for their lack of inclusion of the GOP in the faults of government, you are doing EXACTLY the same as you accuse the conservative voices here of doing. You cannot disregard one, while criticizing the other, which is what you have done with that statement highlighted above.

For those of you interested, Atlas Shrugged Part 1, which opened this weekend, made a modest, but encouraging, take at the box office. While it only took in $1,676,000 in receipts, it also only showed in 299 theaters. As compared to other films that opened this weekend, it did quite well against some big-time productions.

Atlas Shrugged took in $5,605 per theater this weekend. Scream 4, also opening this weekend, took in $19.3 Million, but only $5,840 per theater. The Conspirator took in $3.9 Million, but only $5,550 per theater. The big winner was Rio, at over $10,000 per theater, but it is also a major production, with weeks and weeks of promotion as well.

All in all, opening weekend for the film was good, and I expect it will be further successful in the weeks to come as word of mouth spreads, and more people go to see it. I have not seen it yet, but will at some point in the near future. Most comments from those who have seen it give it good reviews. As I do not read professional film critics, I don’t give a damn what they have said about it, particularly as most of them are liberal hacks anyway.

Wrong, Ivan. Holding all government officials accountable for the outrageous spending habits of the government in general is the answer.

Agreed, but I never, ever see the Republican House taken to task for their profligate and unconscionable spending-ever worse than Pelosi!

Some how, some way, it’s always Obama’s fault.

That knee-jerk mentality has to change.

Ivan: Agreed, but I never, ever see the Republican House taken to task for their profligate and unconscionable spending-ever worse than Pelosi!

Repeat after me, slowly….2006 midterms and 2008 elections. That’s called taking the GOP “to task for their profligate and unconscionable spending”.

And you’ve really got a math, as well as a spelling, problem if you think that the spending between 2000 and 2007 is “ever worse” than has been done since 2007.

@Ivan:

I believe that you misinterpret the reasoning why Obama is criticized so heavily here with little directed at the GOP. It’s not because we conservatives don’t think the GOP deserves any blame. On the contrary, I have seen posts criticizing them, even if they don’t dominate the threads or articles here. I believe that it is mainly due to the outrageous nature of Obama and the dem’s recent rhetoric and legislative action, and that the fuel is being provided so heavily to fuel the fire of criticism directed at them. Just because one may comment here on FA, and place blame at the dem’s feet, doesn’t mean he/she is disregarding the complicit actions of the GOP in the mess as well. That being said, there have been instances of the GOP being in COMPLETE opposition to Obama and his policies. Obamacare for one.

Randy #9 It is exactly because of the E.C. that Romney/Rubio ticket has a much better chance against BHO than Palin/?. Assuming both hold red states Mac won, in play are N.H. , N.C, Va.,Fla.(Rubio popular Sen.),Ind.Iowa,Oh.,Pa.,Mich.(Romney’s dad was Gov.) N.M. Nev and Col. all large Hispanic vote.

Bottom line Romney/Rubio can win Fla. N.C. Va. Mich.,Ohio,Ind., N.H. possibly N.M ,Nev. Victory.

Palin loses Mich.,N.H.,N.M.,Nev., probably Ohio and Fla. falls short in E.C.

@rich wheeler:

Assuming both hold red states Mac won, in play are N.H. , N.C, Va.,Fla.(Rubio popular Sen.),Ind.Iowa,Oh.,Pa.,Mich.(Romney’s dad was Gov.) N.M. Nev and Col. all large Hispanic vote.

Rich, I don’t know if one can use previous elections prior to 2009 as any sort of modeling constant for future elections. 2010 kinda proved that. Remember, back in 2008, there was no TEA Party movement, and the population was disgusted by the spending of the Bush terms, along with rising personal debts and falling personal holdings(wealth). Now, while personal debts are dropping, and personal wealth is back on the rise, the overall sense of dread about the federal debt is heightened, particularly with the major jump it has taken since Obama came into office. People see this debt number and wonder just how long it will be before people of either party insist on tax increases, and not just for the wealthy, in order to attempt to pay for all the spending, which will lead to the falling of personal wealth and the rising of personal debt.

Being that that is the case, I believe the dynamic, economically speaking, of the electorate has changed and that any sense of how the voters will respond, based on 2008 elections, is mistaken. Witness the 2010 midterms for proof positive of that assertion.

John G. It’s still Red vs. Blue and only states I mentioned will be in play.That’s the bottom line.

No Repub, will win Cal.,N.Y. etc. and same is true for a Dem. in Tex.,Utah etc.

For either side to believe otherwise is not RATIONAL I’ m looking forward to the movie.

BTW I’m not saying a Palin ticket can’t win. She’d be a longshot whereas a Romney/Rubio ticket would be at least even money.

@MataHarley:

And you’ve really got a math, as well as a spelling, problem if you think that the spending between 2000 and 2007 is “ever worse” than has been done since 2007.

Problem with so many Obama supporters is that they take Obama’s word for their numbers.
And, as we well know, you cannot believe even one word out of Obama’s mouth.
Like Obama just touted a web site where you could plug in your income and taxes to see what amount goes to whatever thing you ask.
Only one problem: Obama LIES!

The “Federal Tax Receipt” web site, for example, shows that a family of three earning $50,000 in 2010 paid only $19 for interest on the national debt.
But interest payments actually cost the nation $197 billion in 2010, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
That’s roughly $657 per person, or $1,971 for a family of three, or 104 times what the White House website shows.

David Like ALL good pols. Rubio most assuredly will join his party’s ticket if asked.

Perhaps you are right. But I wouldn’t count on Rubio as a sure thing given that situation. He is ambiguous, but not foolhardy. The numbers would have to be incredible for him to risk his own political support and be taged as a loser so early in his career.

Besides, I am not even sure he is an Art. II “natural born” Citizen; are you?

David ” Art II Nat Born?” As R.R. would say “There you go again”

She’s great ! I don’t care what anyone says…. Sarah and her family have gone through so much crap from the MSM and (envy) Americans in general… it’s really ashame and shameful – the hate that is out there… yet, she still keeps on keeping on.. She is truly an inspiration, she gives me HOPE….
“No Spin People”

God Bless Sarah Palin and her Family… true Patriots !!

Folks, I apologize in advance for the rant that follows. As I started responding to the thread, it hit me once again that the problem is all of us. until we as a people realize that, we are in deep doo doo. Thanks as always for the forum provided as i find this to be my favorite site.

Sarah is what she is and we are blessed to have her as a spokesman. One thing for sure, she has a set that this wishy washy poor excuse of a president wishes he had!

Having said that, it must be pointed out how so many of us on this site have in fact pointed out more than once that this catastrophe that is now our government and in turn the fiscal disaster we face is in fact the fault of every piece of S… politician of either party who has chosen to put their power lust at the forefront rather than what is right for the country! Entrenched RINO scum is every bit as responsible as is the Marxist/ Leninist wanna be dictator and his lemmings on the Democratic side. I and so many others on this and other sites have in fact pointed this out.

Being as the MSM, the Dems led by the President and the entrenched idiots both elected and appointed are on a “spend like hell, make sure the electorate is beholden to us” rush to disaster, it once again has to be pointed out that the problem is D.C. in general but the electorate also has to accept the blame. They as always choose the candy rather than have the responsibility. As an example, it has been proven time and again that a robust economy, stimulated by lower taxes has resulted each time in higher revenues to the Treasury. Yet we continue to spend an average of 42 cents above every dollar taken in! And what do we get from our leaders?

Tax them more! We can’t stop ourselves so the hell with the public! Just be damned sure we are allowed to keep our power! Oh please MSM, make sure to keep the people ill informed so as to not jeaporadize our phony baloney jobs! and the electorate, their heads firmly buried up their asses somehow keep electing these morons! Let someone speak against it they are either vilified by the opposition or as is the case ridicule from the MSM.

Those are the pure and simple facts, not all the rhetoric and caustic crap from the Ivans, Gregs and others of both sides who refuse to look beyond their own ideological idiocies! If I sound caustic or mad, I am.

Our country is going down the tubes and one seems to think nothing can be done. But there is a fix. It’s called revolution through the ballot box! We as a country must get rid of the garbage that is destroying us! We must take our country back. It is the responsibility of every citizen. We as an electorate are judge and jury. We must find these clowns guilty of the high treason they are committing that is leading this country to it’s doom! I’m dead serious about this!

It doesn’t take an elitist moron for one to see how screwed up we have become as to the very ideals that once made us what we were, the greatest country ever. Too many are now just selfish to the point they refuse remember they are Americans first!

Most folks on this site have seen my rants and raves, so you know how strongly I feel about this. Just an hour ago, S and P downgraded the nation’s debt outlook to negative! and what did we get from the morons in the administration? “It was a political move!” As always, they refuse to acknowledge the truth choosing to point a finger rather than suggesting a real remedy.

As to Sarah and the others. The facts remain they will be slammed by not only the Commie leaning Leftists, but also their own party. As pointed out above there are far too many who in the end care only about the power. Hell, just look at Rove! Even now, he and other moderate (God, I want to gag on that) Republicans are leading the charge against anyone who does not toe the D.C. line!

This isn’t about just Sarah or Obama or any of the other crap anymore ans hasn’t been for quite a while. This is about our country. The electorate had better come to it’s senses now. We are out of time!!!!@

Do you know Marco’s parentage?

I have known Marco since he first won a seat on the West Miami City Commission. I knew his father, and have had many talks with him. But exactly when his parents were naturalized in relation to Marco’s birth, I really couldn’t tell you. I know Marco is native born, but is he natural born?

I challenge Anyone on this forum to lay out where, as the MSM, has stated over and over, Palin is not qualified to be President. Every time she has sat down with the networks, they try to ravage her, as can be seen with little Miss Katies ‘interview with Palin as opposed to Couric’s sucking up to Obama that was downright embarrassing: perky Katie, grinning and bowing before President Obama on July 22, 2009. “You’re so confident, Mr. President, and so focused,” she blushed. “Is your confidence ever shaken? Do you ever wake up and say, ‘Damn, this is hard. Damn, I’m not going to get the things done I want to get done, and it’s just too politicized to really get accomplished the big things I want to accomplish’?”

She also raved over the Obamas when she wasn’t on the White House lawn. In September of that year, Couric joined many in expecting an Obama victory before the International Olympic Committee. “The Dream Team pushing Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympic summer games is nearly complete,” Couric cooed. “First Lady Michelle Obama landed today in Denmark where Olympic officials are meeting….The team captain, meanwhile, President Obama, arrives Friday ahead of the final vote.”

We all know where that vote went.

However, journalists hailed Couric for her pounding on Sarah Palin in 2008. As Folkenflik at NPR put it, she “earned praise” for how “her steady questioning style allowed Palin to reveal herself as uncertain, at times, of her bearing on policy issues,” which earned Couric “a bevy of awards.” But others saw it differently. She never, ever treated a Democrat this way. ( excerpts from Brent Bozell column).

Trust me, I voted for McCain because of Palin. He ain’t no conservative, not even a moderate in my book.

Palin has as much experience as needed to be president, compared to that community organizer, that it is downright embarrassing to put them side by side………..

Sarah Palin out trumped Trump in snowy Madison Wisconsin, the current Whack-A-Mole is the Donald but many seem to have gotten drunk on trumpahol. I want him to continue to crush the O’BasketCase with increased pressure and humiliation. Donald Trump would be a first rate Secretary of Treasury or member of the Federal Reserve Board. Money rates change place to place moment to moment and it is his business to know and plan money rate costs and trends. Trump property bond holders would worry if the Donald desolved his personal participation managing his multi-billion dollar debt portfolio so this whole episode is just for show. Publish a debt downgrade on any of Trump’s businesses and watch the attitudes shift.

And you’ve really got a math, as well as a spelling, problem if you think that the spending between 2000 and 2007 is “ever worse” than has been done since 2007.

Mata, I’m refering to the budget passed by the Republican House which was sent to Obama after the Senate about 10 days ago.

What did that budget bring amount to and what is the deficit for this budget.
You know all my comments about the failure of the Republicans to reign in spending are not aimed at the perfidious Democrats when they controlled congress-they are useless and not worth wasting time discussing.

is anyone interested in a reader post about the seizing of the poker sites / government overreach? I am thinking about writing one but dont know how well it will be received.

@playwithfire: Looks like another Chicago play to me!

Governor Rick Snyder has just used the authority given him under the provisions of Michigan’s new, republican-backed financial manager legislation to to appoint a town boss for Benton Harbor, Michigan. The new boss’s first act today was to issue an order summarily stripping all power from the town’s elected mayor and governing officials.

How’s that for an example of the philosophy of small, non-intrusive government in action?

Because the mayor and city council weren’t acting like adults and the town was financially broke.

Funniest and scariest political ad in a long time.

Too bad he hasn’t got a chance.
I learned a lot.

@Ivan: @To Your # 18 and 21
When Obama came in Office he had a ‘inherited’ debt of approx 4.1 trillion dollars from Bush’s eight [ 8 ] years of Leading a Nation… Many of which we were in a war, granted a war that not everyone believed in but we can all agree the world is better off without Hussein and his ilk and so is Iraq…

Obama argues that this debt he ‘inherited’ was so bad, so HUGE, so massive….he cries out ! Look what Bush ‘left me’ – after 8 years – all this debt!

My question is, if the inherited debt was so bad, why oh why, as a LEADER of the Free World, and the ‘Smarts’ of Obama and Company, would Obama CONTINUE down a PATH of continued Massive SPENDING??? Increasing OUR DEBT 3 [three] fold in [2] thats ‘two’ years?? When Obama came into office, with this inherited debt, wouldn’t a (responsible) Leader at the very least make it a ‘Challenge’ to get us OUT of the DEBT – at least somewhat? ? Not ADD Massively to it..? ?????

Clearing up an old debt is NOT the path Obama Chose … with or without the inherited debt, I believe Obama would have put us in debt anyway… By Design… Obama Lies and did so from before day 1… His ‘job’ (of ruining America economically ) hasn’t been accomplished… so, he will run again.., and I pray, be defeated in 2012.

So, I say, Yes. We are where we are today because of Obama – Obama and his ilk (Reid, Pelosi and a Democratic Congress/Senate) who basically had been given a BLANK CHECK BOOK created the mess we are in today 3 fold….
14,000,000,000,000…

Obama STILL is not WILLING to make ‘his hard choices’ and get a budget in order!! 352 Million dollars is not a Serious Budget Cut! (Remember Obama Owns the 2011 Budget, NOT the Republicans). Now, if he can ‘only ‘ muster 352 million ‘now’, how much would he have been willing to cut back in 2008 when he got into office with his inherited debt? ( of 4 trillion) – see what I mean? – He proposes to cut this much in 12 Years…. How long do you think the remaining 10 Trillion ++ will be spread out. Many people will die from old age trying to pay this budget down … All due to Liberalism… They know how to suck the life out of people…

@FAITH7, #43:

The total national that debt Obama “inherited” actually stood at $10.7 trillion, $4.1 trillion of which was added during the years of the GWB administration. $2.74 trillion of the total had been previously added during the Reagan and George H. W. Bush administrations.

In addition, Obama “inherited” the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. Compared with the 2008 revenue figure, federal revenues collected will have declined by over $1 trillion dollars from 2009 through 2011. Obama also “inherited” two continuing off-budget wars that have cost over $1 trillion. And the Bush tax cuts.

@Greg:

By the time George W. Bush was inaugurated in 2001, the National Debt stood at $5.7-trillion. He ran up more debt faster than nearly all of his predecessors combined: just under $4.9-trillion [ in ]
[8 Years is my point.] Not 2 (Two)

@FAITH7:

And something Greg doesn’t realize, or comment on, is that conservatives were upset with Bush as well for his spending. The difference is, as you stated, that he did so in 8 years, versus 2-3 for Obama, for roughly the same amount added to the debt.

I said it before. One thing Obama has done right is to handle the Libyan situation with masterful adroitness.

He couldn’t just sit by while tanks were set to roll into Benghazi, with a round up and massacre to follow. He’d have been pilloried by everyone, around the world.

So he stopped that and bought the opposition some time, and then handed off the problem to the British and the French. Bravo. Let someone else step up to the plate and do the heavy lifting, for a change. Libya may well turn into a quagmire, but it won’t be OUR quagmire.

@johngalt:

And what did Bush inherit, a weak defense department, a gutted CIA, a recession, failed ME policy that led to 911 and the banking crisis brought to us by Clinton/Carter and cohorts in the Congress. Did you also notice that Greg completely skipped the Clinton deficits? As if he had nothing to do with the debt.

BTW, his evil party is at it again, just can’t leave the Palin baby alone:

Leading Leftie Blog Mocks Sarah Palin’s Handicapped Baby on His Birthday

That strange man yelling unintelligibly at Sarah Palin? He’s merely a lowly shepherd proclaiming the birth of our savior. Today is the day we come together to celebrate the snowbilly grifter’s magical journey from Texas to Alaska to deliver to the America the great gentleman scholar Trig Palin. Is Palin his true mother? Or was Bristol? (And why is it that nobody questions who the father is? Because, either way, Todd definitely did it.) It doesn’t matter. What matters is that we are privileged to live in a time when we can witness the greatest prop in world political history.

Wait til you see the discusting photoshop:

Lame excuses will follow.

@Missy:

That was a disgusting example of liberal lunacy. It’s one thing to stand up and shout out insults to those who not only can take it, but turn it back around on them. It’s quite another to produce insulting material like that to someone who can’t fight back. Bunch of loser cowards. Probably wouldn’t dare step up to Todd personally and insult one of his family members. Damn cowards.

Mississippi shows how to successfully deal with those Westboro people.

Somehow, well before breakfast time on the day of the funeral, there were pickup trucks parked directly behind every car in the hotel parking lot that had Kansas plates.
The drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over.
Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.
The few who made it to the funeral were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in.
(They had one member who had claimed he’d been assaulted at a gas station, but none of the Westboro folks could provide even the barest description of the assailant.)
Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.
