“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
James Madison to Thomas Jefferson: “The constitution supposes, what the history of all governments demonstrates, that the executive is the branch of power most interested in war, and most prone to it. It has accordingly with studied care, vested the question of war in the legislature.”
Alexander Hamilton to James Madison: “[W]ar is a question, under our constitution, not of Executive, but of Legislative cognizance. It belongs to Congress to say—whether the Nation shall of choice dismiss the olive branch and unfurl the banners of War.”
(Hamilton was a big believer in a strong Executive Branch, btw.)
The age of Hollywood driven celebrity worship delivered an empty suit to the Oval Office.
His determined self-serving effort to place himself into position as leader of the world, unfettered by constraints of any single country or even by those of the Office of The President, have led him to tour South America to deliver teleprompted addresses.
The pathetic speech in Brazil (note its egocentric verbiage) comes at what is probably the worst time for the President to be out of the country, given the whole of the Middle East is in uproar, and just as critically, Japan, America’s second biggest lender and ally, is enduring a series of catastrophic disasters.
The MSM supports Obama’s Flight to Rio, as good for exports and the American economy. That is a lie, covering for a President who has demonstrated a narcissistic lack of understanding or feeling for anyone or anything other than the image he sees in his mirror. He has no idea what products the U.S. exports to Brazil. It’s unlikely that he has any idea of what the U.S. exports to anywhere. He has demonstrated too much inclination toward disinterest.
He makes a speech, makes himself feel good, applauds himself, then moves on to look for more adulation. He’s finding some in South America. He sure wouldn’t be finding it in America these days.
Senator Obama.

The above is true..IMPEACHMENT TIME
I doubt there will be much of a call for impeachment if the Gaddafi regime goes down in fairly short order.
Did Clinton bother to get Congress to vote on his incursions into Iraq or into Bosnia? I don’t think so.
