One Brit on the BBC news pointed out, regarding the number of boys named Mohammad, (and the other 13 spellings thereof) that it didn’t mean more Muslims there were having any more babies, just that they were becoming more RELIGIOUS about how they name their baby boys.
That was an interesting BBC News moment for me.
This name, this year only accounts for 1.5% of all babies names.
BUT…..Muslims like lots of British-sounding names, too.
And, of course, there are probably nearly as many girls as boys born to Muslims in the UK.
Demographically the UK’s non-Muslim population are deep in negative population growth (population shrinkage is anything under 2.1 babies per woman).
But their Muslim population has over 5 children per woman.
Should Bill Maher be alarmed?

Germany and France have recognized this problem, Merckle is stating that muslims are not becoming citizens. They want to create pockets of muslims in areas and push sharia law. Little by little take over each country. France is trying quietly to deport as many problem groups as possible. So maybe its not too late if Europe is seeing this now. I don’t know. Its a big concern, along with the US being so politicaly correct because of the Libs in charge now. With our Pres calling Americans the enemy, change can’t come soon enough for me.
Did any of you cons note the “300 years” part of that quote? Because it would take about that long for Islam to conquer Europe, which is assuming, of course, that Islam 300 years from now would be any thing like Islam today. Indeed, given that Christianity and Judaism in 2010 are quite different from their practice in 1710 (including hundreds of new sects, awakenings, etc.), under what basis could we conclude that Islam 2310 would be anything like Islam 2010, whether for better or for worse?
When all is said and done, I simply am not afraid of Islam or Muslims. Out of a religion practiced by about 1.5 billion people, and 3 million in the US, there are only a few hundred people who pose a terrorism threat. Their religious practices and beliefs can be as well integrated here as those of many other religious minorities, whether Mormons, Jews, Hindus or Christian sects.

Not only do you fail to understand the political agendas of the leaders of Islam today but you fail to understand what plans such leaders have to wage a war on fronts not bound by the physical battlefield. These fronts are legal battles, hostile culture take overs, and internal colonization of lands of soverign nations with France and Britan being classic examples. The Islamic leaders whose plans are total conquest of the World are designed to be patient, long term and generational in contrast to the more extermist groups who want radical change now. Bill Maher, as much as I detest his views over domestic problems in America, should be very damn afraid of an Islamic rule as it is very intollerant in terms of being translated in a court room unlike say how liberals claim the United States Consititution can be deemed a “living document” that can be re-translated to fit modern times. There is no re-translating Islamic law, if you are in violation of it, you are subject to the penalty. In the case of atheism, it is an offensive punishable with either hard labor or death depending what form of sharia law is enforced within an Islamic Nation. Adultery on the woman’s part and homosexuality is punishable with grissly death in others. Feminists are scared of what kind of damage a Britan or a France ruled by sharia law could end up becoming as women’s rights can easily be stripped by a ruling body and any public dissent can be quelled with violent reaction by the ruling Government as it could be dictated by the sharia law emplaced by the Islamic government.
Within a war, many Americans instantly pop up the thought of a far away battle with guns and machines, but the reality is a War is also political and cultural and with Islamic leaders they are seeking a long drawn out cultural war to impose their religon on the rest of the world and these leaders are backed by the very resources the bulk of the World is seeking to further their own internal economies. 2) You are assuming that a Muslim woman who has 8 kids will have 8 Muslim kids and they will have Muslim kids too. This is nonsensical. There is no way of knowing what religion, if any, those kids will adopt.
3) If the Muslim intermarriage rate does that all other religious intermarriage rates do, those 8 kids born to a Muslim woman will marry and/or have babies with non-Muslims. This is especially so given that Islam permits a man to marry a non-Muslim woman. If a Muslim has a baby with a Catholic, who knows what religious tradition that child will have. You could call him a “Muslim” baby, but based on what? There is no such thing as a “Muslim gene.”
More likely — the Muslims in France today have about 4 kids per household. Those kids, especially the boys, will outmarry and have daughters who look like Rhona Mitra. Some will be Muslims, most won’t. Far from being “an Islamic republic”, the same forces that integrate any other racial or ethnic minority into the mainstream will integrate Muslims . . . if the French let it happen, that is.

I have some neighbors who remember Hungary in 1956. They came here to escape Socialism, a failed economy and a corrupt government. Their Grand Fathers fought Nazis and later, the Russian Army in Budapest. They are American Citizens now, speak accented English, vote in every election and one makes custom boots, the other established an excellent restaurant in town that folks drive over 30 miles to put their feet under her table for some of the best grub in the County.

Actually the most popular name in UK last year officially was Oliver – followed by Jack, Harry, Alfie, Joshua, Thomas, Charlie, William, James and Daniel – none of which are hardly traditional muslim names. Mohammad actually only tops the list if the 16 different variations are combined. But even then that doesn’t account for the variations of Oliver.

My Iranian automobile mechanic, who’s kept my various old cars running for the past 18 years, honestly and competently, who doesn’t drink but who gives me a bottle of wine every New Year’s. The Syrian radiation oncologist, who cured my father-in-law’s prostate cancer and spared him a radical prostatectomy. The most brilliant oncology fellow I ever mentored, a gentle Pakistani who was revered by his patients and who ordered wine for me and my wife, while ordering “Virgin Marys” (tomato juice) for himself and his wife. There really are large numbers of Middle Eastern and Pakistani (and presumably Muslim) physicians in the USA; in truth, we’d be in much greater trouble (looming-physician-shortage-wise) without them.
My mom used to work as the Director of a Catholic lay children’s shelter in Detroit called “Christ Child.” It was right next door to a mosque. There were never any conflicts or problems.
Anyway, I’ve never had a memorably bad experience with a Muslim in my life, despite living and working among them for most of my adult life.

If you want to understand Islam, may I suggest reading the Koran to understand their basic theology. Granted it’s not an easy read, but you will learn a lot. I would especially recommend that those far left liberals who are defending Islamic fundamentalists read it, as they clearly are clueless of what awaits them with the expansion of Islam.
We all know that some Islamic radicals insult and refer to Christians and Jews as “infidels.” Why is that? Because the Koran has portions that encourage the treatment of Christians and Jews with bigotry. However the Koran also teaches that Christians and Jews are people of “the Book,” and that as such, they should be tolerated as fellow worshipers of God.
This is where Democrat Liberals should take note. The Koran also clearly teaches that this tolerance (such as it is,) only applies towards Christians and Jews. All others are seen as enemies of Allah. Atheists, Buddhists, Wiccans, etc., you would be merely ‘animals to be slaughtered’ under Islamic rule. Pick up the Koran and read it for yourself. After you have done that, come back and tell us afterward how “peaceful” you think Islam is.

I have studied Arabic from a Muslim (Pakistani) imam at a local (to both of us) university.
I learned many things.
One was that all religions have a set of obligations on each individual….Christians call it the Golden rule.
Muslim call it the Fard Ayn.
But the reason 999 out of 1000 Muslims can be so sweet yet, at the same time, a few wish to die if they can bring death to ”enemies” of Islam is because Islam has a different obligation that is upon them AS a group.
Fard Kifayah is an obligation on the Muslim community as a whole.

Remember the UPS plane that blew up in Dubai on September 2nd?

So remind me how does the Bible treat and refer to non-Christians? Don’t you think there are plenty of Christians who want to expand Christianity as they are commanded. And wasn’t one of the methods of spreading Christianity in the last 2000 years was by violence and other unethical methods? Casting stones indeed.

Do you have a problem with Italian-Americans, Irish-Americans, Jewish-Americans etc – and the fact that they have brought their own culture and traditions across to America?

Gaffa UK….. Not at all! My English friend from Newcastle just left here after dinner and a visit…. But he IS now an American Citizen! Yet, VERY “British” That’s who he is…. personality wise
Also, My folks came over “on the boat” quite literally in the late 50’s….. so My Heritage is Dutch, but we are not “Dutch-Americans”. We are Americans, of Dutch Heritage. There is a difference my friend. Just like David is an American Citizen, yet english by birth. And accent, and upbringing, etc… very different people, humor, etc…. yet, he’s American. That’s how it is SUPPOSED to work. WE do not become “arabic” or whatever (plug in ethnicity of your choice here).. you want to hang out here, cool, simply follow the laws, do not act against us, and we get along with anyone just fine. The minute you start to impose YOURSELF upon US, in OUR HOME, then we are not so accommodating anymore.

As to “Native Americans…. yes, they got screwed royally. That happened over a hundred years ago. Nothing anyone can do about it now. So why bring it up? The crap happening RIGHT NOW, we CAN deal with. I live in the present, with an eye cast to the past, as a guideline. So was THAT your point?? @ GaffaUK, The concept of Hyphenated Americans is divisive and implies a divided loyalty. I was born in the USA as were some of my ancestors that were born here. They were the Original Native Americans. They destroyed Custer’s 7th Cavalry at the Little Big Horn yet I have served in the US Army for about 30 years and do not consider myself to be anything but American.
Those of you that want to become American by choice are welcome to bring your heritage, religion, customs that do not violate Our Laws and enjoy Freedon, Liberty, Rights and Opportunities here but become Americans and not Hyphenated ones.
I don’t hunt buffalo, take scalps or hold a grudge about Wounded Knee but if you want to be Hyphenated, get your a$$ back on the boat or plane and go where your loyalties truly are. I belong here, defended this Nation and if you take offense with that, leave the way you arrived.

I’m refering particualarly to those hyphenated Americans whose ancestors came to the US several generations ago – but still see themselves as partially American in that they still celebrate traditions from the ‘old country’ and have clear bias towards that country. Interesting are there any multiple generations of English-Americans in the US or are the English one of those people who can assimilate the most – at least within the US?
As for the Native Americans – I would say they have been screwed for over 400 years by European settlers and subsequent American descendants. So a degree of humility and tolerance wouldn’t go a miss in such a debate rather than some of the chest-beating that can happen in especially when people claim self righteously that people should fit in or go back to where they came from particularly when the foundations of what became the US was built on exactly the opposite. Learning the language, respecting the law and customs is quite reasonable however. Although how many US nationals follow this when they live and work abroad?

What happened during the Crusades is not relevant to the discussion of radical Islam today. That’s simply a diversionary tactic to ignore the issue. The sins of ancients are not born by the generations of today.
The relevancy wit the “ancient scripture” of the Koran, is that radical Muslims are acting upon those teachings as a continuation of holy war today. You can pretend that it is not happening, but that is a refusal to accept reality. This Koran based intolerance is taught as fundamental to Islamic belief and actions in the world of today. All religions with the exception of Islam have long ago put aside holy war. Including Israel. The Christians and Jews of today do not embrace or practice Deuteronomy 17:2-5. They are willing to live in peace with the other religions so long as they are left in peace.
The Israelis war stance of today is that they are only fighting for the right to exist, and not under clerical marching orders. If their Muslim neighbors in the area would leave them alone, there would be peace. But, because of the intolerance they are being taught, they feel it is their religious duty to destroy Israel.
You asked for my “final solution.” I hadn’t really thought that I should be the one to solve the problem. If I succed I think I should be paid for it, since so many others seem to have their heads up their butts. Logic would point to cold-war espionage management of all potential agents at all entry points. (1) Know and understand your potential enemies. (2) Do not allow enemy operatives free run amongst you. (3) Carefully screen those entering your country, that they are not members of radical terror groups or their operatives. For those allowed to enter, keep diligence upon them. Record where they go, who is sponsoring them. And what actions they perform while in this country. There is no reason why we should not be extremely careful when dealing with operatives from arias which sponsor terrorism. Immigration from state sponsers of terrorism should be denied
Now OpenID what would be your “final Solution” Should you find that they want to expand their Shariha law in you city and apply it towards everyone ho lives there. And they start harassing Athiests.?
