Recently Curt put up a post about “insurers, employers and union plans” being granted exemptions from the new rules of Obamacare.

Among the blessed? The United Federation of Teachers.
The United Federation of Teachers — one of President Obama’s key political backers — is the biggest beneficiary of a White House sweetheart deal that will exempt certain outfits from complying with new health-care rules, officials revealed yesterday.
The quietly approved federal waivers for 30 companies, health insurers, unions and other groups across the country means the UFT doesn’t have to gradually phase out caps on annual health coverage like everyone else.
And why were they granted the exemption?
The UFT was concerned that could have been a major financial hit on the union.
And because Obama had their support.
That’s really terrific. Thing is, a whole lot of us are also concerned about the financial hit on ourselves as well. But that matters not to Obama and his Thugocrats.
“Big labor spent millions of dollars pushing ObamaCare, which they made sure was stuffed full of union giveaways,” said Patrick Semmens, spokesman for the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, which represents businesses.
“So the fact that the largest waiver now belongs to New York teachers union bosses might be funny if the rest of America wasn’t stuck complying with the bill’s onerous mandates.”
Naturally, the AFT and UFT endorsed Obama in 2008.

ObamaCare was such a great idea at the time – the AFT gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to Healthcare for America Now, the leading organization pushing for the government takeover of health care.
And indeed the HCFAN site does list the AFT as part of the “coalition.”
As Olson notes, the New York State Teachers Union (a branch of the AFT) published a list of “facts vs. myths.” In part it said
•Myth: Health care reform will force you out of your current insurance plan or force you to change doctors.
•Fact: You can keep your existing insurance; reform will expand your medical options, not eliminate them.
Seems that’s true only if you’re part of a union or some other Obama supporter group.
To paraphrase Orwell, “All Americans are equal but some are more equal than others.”
And it’s only going to get worse with this Marxist President.

What a CROCK!!!!! The so called “myth” turned out to be true in my case. Just a week ago, days after the first effects of Obamacare kicked in, I got a letter from my Doctors office stating that my insurance company will no longer allow me to see him anymore because the insurance company now requires us enrollees to go to one of their approved official facilities. My doctors office informed me that I can still see my old doctor if I want to, but I would have to change insurance companies. So, I have a choice: To keep my old insurance, I will have to drop my old doctor and find a new doctor OR I can change my current insurance company and keep my old doctor. But I dont have the choice of keeping both my old insurance company AND my old doctor (whom I have been seeing for several years). I haven’t decided yet what I’m going to do.

Democrats unleash the IRS and Justice on donors to their political opponents
Chairman Max Baucus of the powerful Senate Finance Committee got the threats going last month when he asked Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman to investigate if certain tax exempt 501(c) groups had violated the law by engaging in too much political campaign activity. Lest there be any confusion about his targets, the Montana Democrat flagged articles focused on GOP-leaning groups, including Americans for Job Security and American Crossroads.
Mr. Baucus was seconded last week by the ostensibly nonpartisan campaign reform groups Democracy 21 and the Campaign Legal Center, which asked the IRS to investigate whether Crossroads is spending too much money on campaigns. Those two outfits swallowed their referee whistle in the last two campaign cycles, but they’re all worked up now that Republicans might win more seats. Crossroads GPS, a 501(c)(4) affiliate of American Crossroads supported by Karl Rove, is a target because it has spent millions already in this election cycle.
Faced with electoral repudiation as the public turns against their agenda, Democrats are unleashing government power to silence their political opponents. Instead of piling on, the press corps ought to blow the whistle on this attempt to stifle political speech. This is one more liberal abuse of power that voters should consider as they head to the polls.

A man washed up on a desert island after a shipwreck. The only other survivors were a sheep and a sheepdog.
The three of them got into the habit of going down to the beach every evening to watch the sunset.
One particular evening, the sky was a fiery red with beautiful cirrus clouds and the breeze was warm and gentle. It was a perfect night for romance. As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the lonely man. Soon, he leaned over and put his arm around the sheep.
But the sheepdog, ever protective of the sheep, growled fiercely until the man took his arm from around the sheep.
A few weeks passed by and, lo and behold, there was another shipwreck. The only survivor was Nancy Pelosi.
That evening, the man took Nancy to the evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful tropical evening – perfect for romance. Before long the man started to get “those feelings” again.
He fought the urges as long as he could but he finally gave in, moved closer to Nancy and told her he hadn’t had sex for months.
Nancy batted her bushy eyelashes and asked if there was anything she could do to help.
“Yes,” he said, “Take the dog for a walk.”
