Martha Coakley, Democrat candidate for US Senate in the Catholic rich state of Massachusett[e]s says that if you’re Catholic….you shouldn’t work in an emergency room….
Roll the tape:
A fiction writer would never be able to make this stuff up.
h/t – Ace and others.
Martha is afflicted with a common ailment of ideologues, stupidity. Does MA want a blithering idiot functioning as a rubber stamp representing them in Washington?
Putting everything else aside, this woman is blatantly stupid. She has obviously passed the litmus test for an Obama ‘Yes’ Person; but does MA really want someone who has serious cognitive issues representing them?
Martha Coakley, Democrat candidate for US Senate in the Catholic rich state of Massachusett[e]s says that if you’re Catholic….you shouldn’t work in an emergency room….
FINE: Now the people of MA need to say they don’t want Coakley working for them….IN ANY CAPACITY
Are they trying to throw the election so they can blame Scott Brown for healthcare’s failure? Every day that passes things are getting stranger. Can’t wait to see how they flub it through the next few days.
Now, the dscc used an image of the World Trade Center in an attack ad on Brown’s greed.

“EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! All Devout Catholics to get FROM Emergency Room! All Catholics to get from street in front of clinic!” – quoted from “The Marxists are coming! The Marxists are coming!”
If you refuse care to a patient you will be fired. Religious freedom is just that. Freedom to practice religion, NOT “FREEDOM TO PRACTICE RELIGION WHILE PURSUING YOUR $48,000+ A YEAR CAREER.” Haha, do you people really think religious freedom means you can behave anyway you want to in the private sector, put your employer at risk of malpractice, and get away with it? Get a life.
PS i hope Martha loses too.
Latest poll shows Brown ahead by 15 Points!

Wow! Coakley was dumbfounded when Pittman corrected her that the “separation of church and state” does not apply to the emergency room of a hospital. It was her foolish desire to sound knowledgeable that led her to continue to make a fool out of herself by going on to declare that those who believe in religious freedom shouldnt work in an emergency room.
If she took ownership of her misstatement and just admitted her mistake she would have been able to speak with a clear mind.
So lets be clear, that was a great example of arrogance impeding rational thinking.
You get the feeling of a sinking ship from this woman. She is drowning.
Anyway, I agree that a woman who gets raped should have the right to an abortion, but what the hell is “emergency contraception”? A pregnancy is not a life threatening state of health. If a woman doesnt want a baby she doesnt have to rush to the hospital to have it aborted immediately. If a cancer patient can wait a week for a chemotherapy appointment, why cant a woman wait a day or two for an abortion?
Coakley believes that emergency room personnel should be forced to perform abortions. Emergency room personnel are in the business of saving lives and shouldnt be forced to perform a procedure that could harm them emotionally. Yet Coakley is insensitive to the pain that such a procedure could cause someone who is forced to do it, solely because of the political implications. There is no medical necessity for an immediate abortion. Abortions should be left to professionals willing to perform them, if they are emergency room personnel, then fine. If not, a woman still has choices.
I dont mind if this type of abortion is done at the expense of the state. A woman shouldnt have to give birth to the child of her rapist and emergency room personnel shouldnt be forced to perform a procedure that could overwhelm them at the guilt of taking a human life or the violation of their religious conviction.
Emergency room personnel are people, not machines and Coakley doesnt see that.
Dankery D. you completely miss the point. All people should be respected. Not just women who want abortions.
Performing an abortion is more than just bandaging a wound. Your oversimplification is unfair to emergency room personnel.
Pharmacist are allowed to refuse to sell plan b pills if they want to, and their employers are not allowed to ask before hiring them. They just have to inform the company so they have someone on staff most of the time who is comfortable with it.
