A few days ago I posted that Scott Brown was gaining significantly on Martha Coakley in the special election for Senate in Massachusetts. This is especially significant because the 60-vote filibuster-proof margin of the Democrats in the Senate hangs in the balance. The election is in less than two weeks. Well, a newer poll from PPP shows the race is now a dead heat. One could argue about the methodology and reach of these polls but the Real Clear Politics chart shows a definite trend and reveals a highly motivated opposition to ‘politics as usual’.

Here in New Hampshire, we experience a lot of the campaign. Scott Brown has been appearing regularly on “The Howie Carr Show” on radio and he comes across very well. The TV ads in his favor are spirited and enthusiastic. Brown’s own ‘200,000 mile pick-up’ ad is very effective. The one ad I saw for Coakley was a dis-spirited reading of vague campaign promises. In short, BROWN DELIVERS! Meanwhile, Coakley’s performance betrays a certain overconfidence.

ups
One point Scott likes to make that is particularly appealing to me is that ‘this is not Ted Kennedy’s seat, it is the peoples’ seat’. Very true!

The bottom line is this seems to be a delivery van that’s worth putting gas in! Other important causes might not be so urgent at this moment. Send your patriotic package today so it can arrive there on time! Link to my previous post above to link to Brown’s campaign. Remember, UPS can offset the DOWNS…

Thank you for this post. I submitted a reader post on the same subject. I have been working an email chain to stimulate contributions to Scott. We have all been grousing about Obama’s creepy progress in gaining control over our lives and country. Here is something concrete that we can do. If every one of us contributes $50, Scott will be able to mount a “get-out-the-vote” campaign and if effective in Boston, he can win. I am getting fantastic support from my email chain and I want to encourage everyone here to do the same. I have never made a solicitous post of this sort even though I post often. This could be our opportunity to stop the Pelosi-Reid-Obama express and we must not let it slip by.

Thanks to all for the indulgence.

Mlajoie I was just about to write a readers’ post of this exact same topic, so thanks for saving me the time.

I’m prediciting a Scott Brown win, and encourage all who can get up there to help or put in some cash to please do so. While I know it’s probably not too cool to favor other blogs here on FA, there’s a lot of good info in the comment section of this recent post over at American Thinker.

A Scott Brown win would not only put the brakes to Obamacare, (provided the state of MA doesn’t stymy the certification), but would be one of the biggest political upsets in national politics.

On so many levels a Scott Brown victory could clearly change the country. I’m putting my trust in the people of MA. Short of Eunice Shriver and husband, the Kennedy stronghold in MA hasn’t contrbuted one ioda to the greater good.

What poetic justice it will be when Obamacare goes down by the voters of Kennedyland.

After 60 years of Kennedys, lies, corruption, and illusions, finally Dear God, wake up the good people of MA and remind them that ‘Camelot’ not only is over, it never was!

We should keep in mind that the Massachusetts Democrats are thinking of delaying Scott Brown’s swearing in as a Senator should he win, so that the non-elected Senator Kirk can cast a deciding vote for the health care monstrosity before the State of the Union Address. (http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tim-graham/2010/01/09/stunner-scared-mass-dems-plot-delay-gop-victory-teddy-seat-until-obamaca)

A victory by Brown would place the pressure on them to put up or shut up. Would they really be so obviously desperate? Why don’t we help elect Brown so we can SEE what they’ll do?

mlajoie2 – Thank you for your post! Scott Brown is a breath of fresh air and the fact that he has a gorgeous and talented family doesn’t hurt either!

I did contribute money and prayers for his success! The fact that he has a very good chance to win has all the libs’ panties in a bunch – to the point of plotting how to deny the voters’s wishes as a vote on healthcare. If he’s not certified – I certainly hope that there will be a ton of law suits and a march on the Mass State Capital!

Rant off…

Doesn’t Scott Brown support requiring people by law to obtain health insurance? That’s what the 2006 Massachutts health care law (signed in by Mitt Romney) requires and he says he supports that. All you have to do is check Scott Brown’s own website under Issues

Scott Brown seems like another politician who uses partisanship to get elected. I do not see him as the type to stand on principle if elected.

This kind of reminds me how conservatives were so excited about getting Arnold Schwarzenegger elected Governor in California. Well they aren’t too excited about him now are they?

Conservatives seem to be doomed to repeat history over and over again.

Ugh…..

BROWN @ 2:15 – “….everyone is entitled to some form of insurance”

This guy doesn’t sound like all that.

Although this sounds good:

MR. HANNITY: If somebody asks me how I identify myself politically, I would say I’m a Reagan conservative. How would you answer that question? How do you identify yourself politically?

MR. BROWN: As a Scott Brown Republican. I’ve always been my own person, and that’s why I have gotten to where I am. And I believe in fiscal responsibility and making sure we live within our means and we don’t tax people back to the stone age and we basically get our fiscal house in order to make sure we don’t become economically dependent on China and Russia and put us at a strategical disadvantage. It just makes no sense.

So I’m going to go down there and be the same person I’ve always been and look at each and every vote, each and every bill and make a good, logical decision and then represent the people of my state and make sure that the interests of the United States are taken care of, especially in terrorism and foreign policy and our fiscal mess that we’re in right now. And I’m very excited to do that.

Alex,

Granted, he’s not perfect. This is MASSACHUSETTS, after all. (I’m disappointed that he’s not thoroughly pro-life.) But, if you get at all familiar with his voting record as a State representative, I think you’ll feel a lot better. The bottom line is he’s a Republican and he would have no vested interest and he’s not insane enough to go along with that monstrous health fiasco threatening us now. The threat is imminent. This is a chance to stop it NOW. Further, think of the message this could send across the country. Martha Coakley is an unimaginative rubber stamp. We’ve got a shot. Why not take it when we might save our country?

By the way, I just drove my son down to college in Mass., and we saw bumper stickers and lawn signs in some very liberal areas. We heard SEVERAL very good radio ads for Brown in the time we drove down.

Heard this weekend from long-time Dem (JFK type Dems) friends, living in the Cape Ann MA area. . .said they had finally decided to vote for Brown and talking to others about doing the same.

Why?. . .
–said that although they voted for Obama, they were not happy with his handling of the economy –
especially the all the bail-outs/stimulus packages, ‘fishy’ accounting practices, continued
borrowing from China, and looming tax increases.
–They still considered themselves Dems BUT had lost confidence in O and leadership direction.
They believed ‘JOKELY’ (their nickname for Martha) would do nothing but rubber stamp anything
the Dems wanted. They wanted to remind their party leadership who works for whom.
–Their major concern as business owners — taxation increases, the economy.
–Wished the Dems had taken a look at the MA Healthcare system to see what had and hadn’t
worked instead of replicating aspects that did not work.

They predicted, from what they are hearing in their circles, Brown could very well pull this off. . .and that is something coming from these life-long MA residents!

There is no way that the Democrats are going to let this guy win, they will steal this election just like Minnesota and NY23.

Oh! Stop.

Scott Brown winning is in the bag. What we need to do now is win decisively. Make no mistake, when Hillary Clinton went down with her health care she did so because people did not want her reforms. As a matter of fact no one saw the massive vote of no confidence against her. This is exactly the same thing. Massachussetts voted Hillary’s crap down and this is no different. No one has any idea how Massachussetts is about to turn on Coakley. Coakley is going to lose by the same margins as the support for health care. 51 against 41 for.

Obama is finished. Coakley is finished. The Democrats are finished.

The big, big problem is crushing this communist movement so that we can mitigate the damage they are doing. The destruction they are heaping on the country will be great as they retreat. This is akin to Hitler’s first year of the world war. By the end of the first year his key commanders already knew they had lost. The problem was trying to stop his destruction.

In the same way Obama has lost. The big problem is how much destruction will he get away with. Brown has won, but that does not mean we are done. The destruction of the economy over the next 60 months is going to be very, very harsh. We need to get as many democrats as possible out and then we need to watch the Pubies like hawks.

I will never vote for a RINO which is what Scott Brown is!

Tell me Alex–are you a Concern Troll or an Eeyore? You sound like a CT and I guess you WANT the Democrat to win and are for Dr. Utopia’s Health Plan. . .

You will never vote for a Rino. Good riddance to you. The harder you try to deceive, the more you become a failure!

Alex, here you are sneering at the first real chance to stop Obama. The only possible conclusion is that you don’t want Obama stopped. That being the case, you are neither a Conservative or a Republican. The only thing left is exactly what nelly described above. The Dems are absolute masters at dirty tricks and I call you out on that one.

Well said. I’d hate to have Alex in a fox hole with me or covering my back. He has no guts for a fight nor would he know how to win when the odds are down. The harder he tries to succeed, the more he becomes the failure.

Scott Brown #41. Done deal!!!!

As a resident of Massachusetts and a current constituent of Scott Brown (he’s currently my State Senator!), I’m supporting him as well!

Based on the events and polls of the past week, I believe Scott Brown CAN win this election! If the people of Massachusetts are as angry as they say they are, then Scott Brown WILL be elected to the United States Senate on January 19th!

If you haven’t yet, check out his website, http://www.brownforussenate.com

If you live in Massachusetts, VOTE FOR SCOTT BROWN on January 19th

If you live outside of MA, make a donation, and tell everyone you know in MA to vote for Scott Brown on January 19th!

Of course Scott Brown will win.

By the end of this year Obama’s approvals will be around 25% and over the next few years there won’t be a democrat left in congress.

The two big questions are how do we mitigate the destruction Obama is creating before he leaves and how do we put an iron grip on the Republicans so that they do not reneg on what they will promise?

The boyz over at hillbuzz.org have an excellent post on Concern Trolls and Eeyores. That is how it was easy to spot one. The boyz should know since they live in Chicago and are PUMAS who worked for places where CTs in the pay of the Democrats lurk before Hillary got shafted. They then came on over & worked for the McCain/Palin ticket, much to the dismay of their former associates. They love Sarah and are working hard for Scott Brown. Anyway it is a very helpful post. . .

The reason Scott Brown is winning can be illustrated by an interview done with an economist called Gerald Celente. He summarizes very clearly and simply why all the crap Obama has spewed is pure lie and deceit and the economic conditions have not changed at all to lift us out of this morass.

Here is his interview:

http://debttalkwithpmg.blogspot.com/2010/01/celente-believes-bailouts-have-just.html

People are waking up 100% because of the web. They know they have been suckers and made to look real stupid for voting for this con man and now they want their Obama pound of flesh. Scott Brown’s win is the canary in the coal mine announcing to the national socialist democrats that they are cooked.
