ACTION ALERT: Call, fax email or mail your Congressional Representative or Senator and let them know that you’ve had enough of these secret backroom deals that shortchange the American people!
A little friggin’ late there, my friend. Congressional offices were closed down yesterday at 5PM (at least that’s what my Rep’s office told me yesterday when I called.)
I alsp posted this under the Ray Stevens Video post. . .Has anyone else heard this or just a web rumor? oBOWma now putting off healthcare until Februrary??
Conservative Scott Brown running for Ted Kennedy’s seat in Massachusettes, according to latest poll, is leading his DemonicRat opponent 67% to 32%. I would believe that Nancy and Harry will attempt to circumvent normal committee process in order to get a final version to a vote before the DemonicRats lose their fillibuster proof majority in the Senate.
Republicans MUST delay until after the January 19th election.
@John Cooper: I’ve been sounding this horn for months. Where have you been?
And nothing is stopping you from writing a letter to the editor. Though I do wonder if your letter might be more criticial of Republicans than Democrats.

I’d buy a thousand dollar ticket to see an explosive loaded car hit ODumbo, Reid, and Pigloshi in the butt going 100MPH. A $500 SUV, $250 worth of gas, $100 worth of LP tanks, one homemade denator, $850 to wipe them out, the cheers of 200 million Americans, Priceless.
Where have I been? You must have me confused with someone else. I have in my hand here a stack of fourteen faxes I’ve sent to my legislators in the last two weeks – pretty much one per day to all of them, which I guess makes it closer to 30 faxes. I’ve written three letters-to-editor and had all three published.
So where have you been, other than defending wimps and losers in the Senate, I mean?
P.S. Oh, and that doesn’t count the ten or so blog posts I’ve authored in the last two weeks on conservative (as opposed to Republican) blogs.
You see, some of us are out here doing the heavy lifting, and others are just cheerleading the losers.
@John Cooper: I would take offense at that but I’ve been WINNING elections, not losing them for DECADES so I know you are not talking about me.
I’m glad to hear you are doing something other than trashing Republicans.
It’s about time.
What a shame you seem to have more energy for fighting fellow conservatives than you do for fighting Obama.
Oh, just to remind you to Google “John Ashbrook” if you want to know where I am coming from. And while you are perusing those results you might run across my photo with William F. Buckley Jr.
Now, don’t you think it’s time you drop this holier than thou attitude? I’ve been very generous with my time with you. I hope that wasn’t a mistake.
P.S. Here’s a link to one of my recent letters published in the local news. You’ll note that I focus on OBAMA! I’d love to read some of yours. Drop a link.

God help us all. Here is the 1st of my I told you so’s coming true. It just passed. The politicians have been entrenched so long they have no idea what they have triggered. And the RePubs among them think they have put up enough of a fight to be re-elected.
I’ve seen attack mode slowly grow hard and heavy all across the net against anyone critical of the RePub rollover. If all the energy spent attacking anyone from the right with the audacity to question the wisdom and tactics of the little naked emperors in DC was focused on raising the voice of the American people opposing this outrage against the formerly free citizens of this country, the bill might have been defeated. Did all the politicians forget the example of Regan going to the people to win against all political expectations? Or was winning this battle not the real goal? If a strong effort by the RePubs had lost anyway, at least Americans would have had a group to rally around with some sort of legitimate claim of fighting the destruction of this great country.
Then Americans would have had a legal and peaceful way to oppose. Now a great many will feel that there is no ‘normal’ way to fight for their rights and their country. What will they do now? God help us all. This is the ugliest that I’ve seen things in America in my lifetime (but of course, I’m not as old as Mike. ;0)
Just because some of us haven’t been fortunate enough to have the distinguished education, the right connections, and sufficient financial means to have spent our lives in a illustrious position among the upper crust of American politicians fighting the good fight, doesn’t mean that we haven’t been fighting just the same even if we were not in position to affect as many people. Our effort didn’t always come cheap and we don’t appreciate being belittled because we weren’t in a prominent enough position in some people’s eyes. We may not have voted the way the establishment wanted, but we voted our conscience and won’t be made to feel guilty about that. We may seem naive to some because we believe on standing on principle, but when we see where 20 plus years of any compromise at any price has gotten us, it is us who must feel those people are naive.
Delegitimizing our passion, intelligence, history, importance, character, and our complaints only alienates us from the current party of the right. How can you scream that we are the ones who will lose by division as you estrange us by insult and insinuation instead of simply converting us with the wisdom of correct political doctrine? The contradiction, dear sirs, does not settle well.
The charge that we need to have posted more against Obama to prove we are more against the left than the right is ridiculous. For one, we have for the most part been posters in the past who have always stood to the right (even if we were apparently below some persons personal thresholds of perception). But mainly, we are upset because the RePubs won’t oppose Obama policies strongly enough. We are apparently in stronger opposition to Obama than those same establishment career politicians and their advisors who say they are so concerned about where we stand. It is the type of argument that I would expect from the left, but was surprised to hear it from the right.
Before anyone gets back on that oft repeated number of 75 percent for the current strategy, keep in mind that in places as diverse as Redstate, American Thinker, and the Knoxville News Sentinel, opinion is running at least that high in the opposite direction. (And those are mostly larger blogs than our home here) Anyone belittling the numbers of those disgusted with business as usual in Washington is disingenuous, deluded, or at best, behind the times.
I have said before and I will say at least this one last time; I appreciate the past efforts and accomplishments from those fighting from the right for the values that made this country great. We are giving them the benefit of the doubt that at least below the level of a Washington insider, we all are fighting against the same thing and for the same things, but simply have very different views on how to accomplish that goal. The strategies won’t co-exist. One will become dominant. We hope to include you when our strategy wins out. Will you still want and need us if we are wrong and your strategy wins out or will you have alienated the very people you will need then?
Let us remember that FA has always been more like a family than most political blogs. You don’t say things to family that will alienate them forever if you can possibly help it. Let’s keep the tone to disagreements of wisdom, not arguments of belittlement and insult.
Things are about to get really bad out in the political world of America. Let’s make sure we do everything we can to keep a friendly home at FA.
Really, not trying to start an argument, I’m trying to end one and say in conclusion; MERRY CHRISTMAS!
