Taking a lead from the ever exuberant Mike’s A, I thought I’d showcase an upcoming and inspiring conservative for hire. Since we conservatives are looking for those voices to support, I’m hoping this will be the beginning of an FA “series” of showcases for worthy candidates. And thanks to Mike’sA for the reminder that there is no substitute for good ol’ fashioned grassroots campaigning.
Ret. Lt. Colonel Allen West, a 22 year Army veteran, is running for US Congress in 2010, representing Florida’s 22nd district. That’s Florida’s infamous “hanging chad” arena, Broward and Palm Beach Counties…. and perhaps even Rush Limbaugh’s potential future representative.
LTC West would be replacing Democrat Ron Klein… a lockstep Dem newbie elected in 2006 whose voting record in his brief years of service speaks for itself. LTC West has faced off with Klein before in 2008, garnering 45.3% of the votes to Klein’s 54.7%. But it’s a new era of liberal/progressive spending and attempted extortion of nanny control. LTC Allen needs some word of mouth press.
LTC Allen has been making some recent headlines of late, due to his inspiring performance at Ft. Lauderdale’s Revolution Nightclub (YouTube video below) in October this year. Roll the tape, and be prepared for some straight-from-the-heart, true inspiration and a genuine oratory display – all sans Greek columns.

I’d say keep an eye on this guy. TPM already finds him threatening enough to run a story with a “scandalous” and misleading headline… “Allen West, GOP House Candidate: ‘I Hate Big-Tent. I Hate Inclusiveness. And I Hate Outreach'”
Wow… to have made the “hit” list so fast! That’s an endorsement in itself! But of course the complete reading that puts the headline in context escapes the average TPM reader, as you can tell by the ensuing comments. Scary to think this mentality has voting rights… but I digress.
Were LTC West in my backyard, he’d have my vote and footsoldier labor in a heartbeat. Be prepared to “fix bayonets!”. We are in for a battle for the Constitutional heart and minds of our country.

There is so much to admire about LTC West – truly I wish I lived in his district so I could vote for him. He has all the qualities we could ask for in addition to a genuine track record of leadership.

I’ve noticed lots of military guys running for next years election. Good.
ahhh… glad you noticed, or would that be *didn’t* notice, Patvann. It’s the latest GOP hi tech secret. aka *stealth* teleprompters that are virtually invisible. LOL
Amazing what some genuine heartfelt speak, combined with command of the language, can do.. don’t you think? TOTUS, however, would be crushed to find his cousins don’t have a burgeoning and prolific political future.
Dang! I sat on a similar post for two days thinking Mata would be too distracted coddling moonbats to do one…
I would also just mention that Col. West left the Army shortly after a threat of court martial after he saved the lives of his troops in Iraq by aggressive questioning of an Iraqi who had information about pending attacks.
He knows what we are up against in terms of the political correctness that is killing us.

Hi Mike. I heard him explaining how the fallaheen decided to cooperate very fast.
He is a very intelligent and articulate man. (New Zeal had his video out weeks ago).
I do heartily endorse LTC. West for Any Elected office in the Nation.

Yup… quite a find. Treated not so well by the military on his exit, and would make a ballbuster Congressional representative, and hopefully future WH/cabinet occupant.
I join with you in wishing Old Trooper and Cadet daughter all the joys and blessings of the Christmas season, and a victorious New Year. Without those like the Old Trooper family, we’d all be bug desolate voices in the wind, laboring under oppression.

It’s amazing how Allen West sticks with people and exciting to find that he is such a strong conservative and so appealing as well. He would be who should be sitting in the OO right now, he’s real!
I remember what they did to Ltc West, we had another chat about him last night when I mentioned this post. He leaves such a lasting impression and our thoughts immediately go back to how he took care of that terrorist and prevented more death and of course how he was treated for it, that, to this day, heats hubby up real fast. Ltc. West deserved a medal!
We are liking what we see in him and will definately send him something.
