Rove should have asked how many flag draped coffins being shipped back from Afghanistan before Obama finishes his vacations and dinners and starts ‘reassessing’ the assessment. And how many more will it take before he then finally reaches a decision, while McChrystal has to sit around and pound sand while his people take risks and die so the President can sit here basking in the glory of the Nobel political committee.

The Bush administration is trying to lay spin their failure in Afghanistan and lay it on the new administration.
The fact is that after Bush decided to invade Iraq, Afghanistan became a footnote. For every 5 soldiers we sent to Iraq, we sent 1 to Afghanistan.
Bush’s entire focus was winning the war in Iraq. He falsely believed that the Pakistani government would take care of defeating the Taliban. We know know that the Pakistans instead tried to make deals with the Taliban in exchange for Peace.
In 2007, as Senators were demanding to know why the Taliban were retaking much of Afghanistan, The U.S. military’s top officer acknowledged …. that for all the importance of preventing Afghanistan from again harboring al-Qaida terrorists, Washington’s first priority was Iraq.
“In Afghanistan, we do what we can,” said Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. “In Iraq, we do what we must.”
Mullen, testifying with Defense Secretary Robert Gates on the effort to stabilize Afghanistan, said that war is “by design and necessity, an economy-of-force operation. There is no getting around that. Our main focus, militarily, in the region and in the world right now is rightly and firmly in Iraq.”
The Bush administration is trying to lay spin their failure in Afghanistan and lay it on the new administration.
Bush would never have attributed any failures in intelligence on his watch after 9/11 to Clinton’s actions before 9/11. But Obama and you will continue to ramp up the flag draped coffins coming back to the US, and claiming it is Bush’s fault, while you and your little friends are given paybacks, kickbacks, and honor from on high due to Obama’s power and office.
It’s a good gig if you can get it.

The Carter administration didn’t like the Shah, Obama doesn’t like Karzai. He has time to meddle in the Afghan election, but no time to send help to our troops. He has time to fabricate an Afghan story, send his Chief of Staff out to peddle it, but again, no time to make a decision that benefits our troops. Carter’s Iran policy failed and Obama is way out of his league, he’s a bad joke.
Sacrifices made, all for nothing. Get the troops what they need or get them out.
