WASHINGTON — Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings spent $24,730 in taxpayer money last year to lease a 2008 luxury Lexus hybrid sedan. Ohio Rep. Michael Turner expensed a $1,435 digital camera. Eni Faleomavaega, the House delegate from American Samoa, bought two 46-inch Sony TVs.

The expenditures were legal, properly accounted for and drawn from allowances the U.S. government grants to lawmakers.

The first step in taking back the governement by the republican party needs to be reining in the waste and abuse in their own back yards. They need to introduce and push new rules for lawmakers and all politicians that cut out any and all abuses and that limits spending that is not approved by thier constituants.

Aleric, I couldn’t agree more. I don’t think anyone would deny the fact that it costs our representatives some extra cash to maintain a place at home and one in the beltway. But enoughs enough. It is time that they live with the same laws they pass for everyone else. If social security is good enough for us, it’s good enough for them. They need to live with the same healthcare programs as everyone else. There is nothing special about them. We are a government by, for and of the people. They seem to have forgotten that.

Alcee Hastings is a Convicted Felon. He belongs in Prison, not Congress. Period.
Accepting Bribes. It was not an allegation, a Conviction.

Aqua, TRICARE for Life is not what the Army promised me. No co pays but annual fees. Because Congress (The Parliament of Whores) gets it Free, I pay.
