All it took was the gunshot fired outside his Walker County home to trigger training ingrained in former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the lone survivor of a dramatic battle in Afghanistan in 2005.
Dasy, a Lab, was shot April 1 at age 4.
The 4-year-old yellow Lab was given to him upon his return from the war to help him heal. He named it Dasy as an acronym for his SEAL team members lost in a mighty fight in which they were isolated and far outnumbered by Taliban fighters.
So far, two men have been charged with felonies that could land them in state jail for at least six months.
Michael John Edmonds II, 21, and Alfonzo Hernandez, 24, both of New Waverly, are charged with cruelty to nonlivestock animals.
Punks.
I hugged my dogs after I read this account. My thoughts and prayers are with Marcus and Dasy.
This pisses me off beyond words.
The cops need to include in their charges death threats I believe in TX this is still against the law.
Throw the book at these punks Danno and that won’t be hard enough.

Shouldn’t they also be charged for the “wait til we kill you” remark? Seems like there’s more to this than animal cruelty and it should carry more than two years, imo.
This dog was given to Marcus for therapy, he is visibly upset and shaky, wounds just got reopened, Dasy was his link to his brothers that died so tragically.
It’s worse than someone’s seeing eye dog being murdered. Horrible!
