Here is my question:
Many presidents have taken office with great optimism and high hopes for change. However, due to the long and complicated process involved in getting any type of bill or legislation passed, they were unable to get the majority of their campaign promises enacted. How can you assure the American public that any of the plans you talk about in your campaign will ever get the necessary voting approval from the house and senate to make it to your desk where you can sign them and have them enacted?

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. fought for EQUALITY, not for black dominance. And just like Aye quoted, he wanted a nation where the blacks wouldn’t be judged for the color of their skin but for the content of their character. Obama was the one who brought up the race card, implicating McCain as being racist in the first place. You cannot compare this man to Dr. King. I’d say that by voting and voting ONLY based on the color of skin, all those celebrities including Ludacris and Diddy are putting the Dr. to shame.

Hello all,
This is a very entertaining and informative post. I agree with “wingshooter” regarding voting Republican because the top of that ticket is the lesser of two evils. I long for the day that a conservative candidate will run for the presidency or any other office using conservative values in the campaign. John McCain is one of the most disappointing republicans that could have possibly been nominated and I only hope, no matter which one wins the presidency, that democrats lose House and Senate seats. Getting a majority in the two houses is likely the only way slow or reverse the dismantling of what Ronald Reagan called a “Shining City on a Hill”.

I’m just turning 18 and this is my first election to vote in….Of course my family is wanting me to vote for who they are voting for, Obama, but as i read over all of the past posts my decision that I’m going to make is becoming unclear because both parties are making valid points.
I am a young black female who was raised believing that all men are created equal and though I believe race is an issue it’s not what this election is solely based on. One comment I strongly disagree with is one that said 95% of black peolple are voting for Obama because he is black. Yes, there are those voting for him for that reason, but there are others who do research the past and what he is doing in the present such as his financial advisor(well used to be) Franklin Raines who was offiliated with the fannie mae and freddie mac scandal and alot of his contributions came from these companies
I know this post may not have any meaning being that I’m not taking any parties side yet. but I just wanted to point out that my generation is out there listening and doing just as much research as others, not all of us are sitting around on myspace all day and we do want to be heard in this election.
As far as the video goes, growing up in a black community this is a very common sight and is thought of as a form of expression and i didnt really see any harm in it, evry one has a right to their own opinion, so if they feel that Obama has done that for them then we should give them accolades for wanting do something positive in theor lives.

I am new to reading blogs and I can tell you that an all caps post appears to be what I would call spam and trying to read the post does aggravate my eyes. One reason I think that using caps would indicate that the words are meant to be yelled, is your last post. The “DON’T READ IT!!!!!!!!!!” appears to be someone wanting to make the statement loudly and with great emphasis. If you put your entire post in caps I see a person with large eyes and turning red faced and in the end simply insane.

One of the Obama supporters made a comment asking why conservatives never criticized Bush the last 8 years. This person obviously knows nothing about our side.
Anyone who has followed politics should be well aware that conservatives have been highly critical of both Bush and McCain on a number of very important issues:
– out-of-control spending; unwillingness to use the veto against it
– amnesty for illegal aliens
– strategic errors in the Iraq war prior to the Surge
– McCain/Feingold suppression of freedom of political speech
– enactment of the prescription drug entitlement
– and a number of others.
When we feel our candidate/office holder is on the wrong side of the issues, we do not hesitate to point it out. In fact, most of us weren’t even thrilled about McCain to begin with, but Palin and the growing realization of who Obama is have rallied us round to him anyway.
When our guys are found out to be corrupt, we do not circle the wagons about them anywhere near how the dems do. Witness Foley and Cunningham and Craig just for examples. In my opinion, we police our own house rather well. None of them were even found with a hundred big ones in their freezer either.
Contrast that with the left/liberal/democrat near worship of both Clintons and Obama. I have a much harder time thnking of a single criticism of any of them from the left whatsoever. It is almost a religious belief that their person is infallible. (Howard Stern even did a bit where he interviewed blacks in Harlem who supported Obama. He asked them if also supported the OBAMA policies of staying the course in Iraq, picking Palin as his VP, and other obvious McCain positions. EVERY ONE said they were fine with all those things. I resent that people so ignorant of the issues and current events can cancel out my vote.)
In fact, with the notable exceptions of the poorly labelled “War on Terror”, the SCOTUS appointments of Roberts and Alito, and the tax cuts, I cannot understand why the left has this visceral rage and hatred of Bush, given that on most everything else, he’s done what they wanted. Saul Alinsky, a Marxist rabble-rouser, over 50 years ago wrote the game plan for how the left got so extreme, and how Obama became who he is, and even how he is running his campaign. Alinsky invented “community organizing” which was just a nicer term for Marxist revolution, and the empty one-word mantra he proposed to use as the rallying cry – “CHANGE”.
Sound familiar yet?
His books tell the “community organizer” to demonize opponents as 100% evil, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and that you are on the side of the angels, which will allow you to use any means necessary to justify your ends – lying, cheating, intimidation, threats of violence, etc. He said to give that “devil” a specific face as the one responsible for the evil, like a mayor or a president. Laugh at them, ridicule them, for there is no effective response to ridicule.
And use the “grievances” of the “people” to play on the guilt of the “oppressor”, to force the system to give so much that it eventually collapses under its own weight, and in that time of crisis, power can be seized.
ACORN, one of the prime sources of the economic collapse, is an outgrowth of his theories, and Obama is one of his biggest disciples.

This election is all about race, Aye. It’s a truly sickening thought that the black community hasn’t participated in the American elections before because it was white men running on both sides. Really says something about how racism still lingers in our society after all we have gone through, after all the lives sacrificed. It makes me think that the words of the great Dr. King Jr have gone to waste. That’s why we still have people like Farrakhan and Wright in our world.

I pose the question, what party first elected a senator, congressperson, had the president that signed the emancipation proclamation, and was responsible for passing the civil rights legislation of the 1960’s. This is a very entertaining and informative post. I agree with “wingshooter” regarding voting Republican because the top of that ticket is the lesser of two evils. I long for the day that a conservative candidate will run for the presidency or any other office using conservative values in the campaign. John McCain is one of the most disappointing republicans that could have possibly been nominated and I only hope, no matter which one wins the presidency, that democrats lose House and Senate seats. Getting a majority in the two houses is likely the only way slow or reverse the dismantling of what Ronald Reagan called a “Shining City on a Hill”.

I’m just turning 18 and this is my first election to vote in….Of course my family is wanting me to vote for who they are voting for, Obama, but as i read over all of the past posts my decision that I’m going to make is becoming unclear because both parties are making valid points.
I am a young black female who was raised believing that all men are created equal and though I believe race is an issue it’s not what this election is solely based on. One comment I strongly disagree with is one that said 95% of black peolple are voting for Obama because he is black. Yes, there are those voting for him for that reason, but there are others who do research the past and what he is doing in the present such as his financial advisor(well used to be) Franklin Raines who was offiliated with the fannie mae and freddie mac scandal and alot of his contributions came from these companies
I know this post may not have any meaning being that I’m not taking any parties side yet. but I just wanted to point out that my generation is out there listening and doing just as much research as others, not all of us are sitting around on myspace all day and we do want to be heard in this election.
As far as the video goes, growing up in a black community this is a very common sight and is thought of as a form of expression and i didnt really see any harm in it, evry one has a right to their own opinion, so if they feel that Obama has done that for them then we should give them accolades for wanting do something positive in theor lives.

I am new to reading blogs and I can tell you that an all caps post appears to be what I would call spam and trying to read the post does aggravate my eyes. One reason I think that using caps would indicate that the words are meant to be yelled, is your last post. The “DON’T READ IT!!!!!!!!!!” appears to be someone wanting to make the statement loudly and with great emphasis. If you put your entire post in caps I see a person with large eyes and turning red faced and in the end simply insane.
One of the Obama supporters made a comment asking why conservatives never criticized Bush the last 8 years. This person obviously knows nothing about our side.
Anyone who has followed politics should be well aware that conservatives have been highly critical of both Bush and McCain on a number of very important issues:
– out-of-control spending; unwillingness to use the veto against it
– amnesty for illegal aliens
– strategic errors in the Iraq war prior to the Surge
– McCain/Feingold suppression of freedom of political speech
– enactment of the prescription drug entitlement
– and a number of others.
When we feel our candidate/office holder is on the wrong side of the issues, we do not hesitate to point it out. In fact, most of us weren’t even thrilled about McCain to begin with, but Palin and the growing realization of who Obama is have rallied us round to him anyway.
When our guys are found out to be corrupt, we do not circle the wagons about them anywhere near how the dems do. Witness Foley and Cunningham and Craig just for examples. In my opinion, we police our own house rather well. None of them were even found with a hundred big ones in their freezer either.
Contrast that with the left/liberal/democrat near worship of both Clintons and Obama. I have a much harder time thnking of a single criticism of any of them from the left whatsoever. It is almost a religious belief that their person is infallible. (Howard Stern even did a bit where he interviewed blacks in Harlem who supported Obama. He asked them if also supported the OBAMA policies of staying the course in Iraq, picking Palin as his VP, and other obvious McCain positions. EVERY ONE said they were fine with all those things. I resent that people so ignorant of the issues and current events can cancel out my vote.)

Would the riots that might ensue surpass even those of the Civil Rights Movement’s? Seems to me, they are setting this country up for dangerous times regardless as to what happens. Might not be a bad idea to put our second ammendments rights to work and buy that handgun to protect your homes and loved ones and be prepared for an angry Democratic Hurricane.

Of course there will be riots. Most people who riot won’t even know why they are doing so ,but , they will go out and “get some.” Do you remember Rodney King? They turned over LA and looted anything they could get there hands on. Anything for free!!!!! Our country is very much on the brink of dangerous times. This is just the beginning. Our government is very much satisfied the way things are going. Ever hear of the New World Order? We are going that way. They want to disarm America so that you won’t be able to protect you and your family. They want to take away our guns so we are helpless in any given situation. But , the criminal will always get his weapon no matter what. Read the book Rule by Secrecy by Jim Marrs , it will scare the hell out of you. At the same time , you will see what i am saying to you. Look at the stock market. Our dollar will not be worth anything very soon. Enter , the Euro Dollar. Same currency for the whole world. We are heading towards that way of living. Everyday our rights are being diminished. They want the average guy to have nothing. Big brother was just a little later than was expected. It’s happening all around us.

And just for the record , I don’t have large eyes , a red face and I am not insane. You must be under 25 years of age. Don’t get so upset over a little punctuation. Actually my riot question was rhetorical. I’m old school Reform Party. Former NAFTA opposed, Perot supporter & Chuck Harder listener. So I’m knowledgeable of the Illuminati, Top Secret Magic, Buildeburgers, Magestic, the Clinton Conspiracys, Skull & Crossbones, Trilateral Commission, One Worlders, etceteras, so I know where you’re coming from.
Yes, the Socialist Agenda could easily tie into it as well. However, if it is more of the elitist Illuminoid secret society faction, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Socialism failed them woefully with the Nazi Germany Republic and USSR Empire Building Experiments. Socialism was a complete failure with both and the former USSR turned to Capitalism. Again, it just doesn’t make sense.
I never quite get what stealing big screen TV’s had to do with Rodney King, Civil Rights, or the first O.J. trial, but that is a small taste of what we’re in for. Any excuse is a good excuse for the lawless in our society to raise Hell. The post was just to pass on a hint from yer ol’ Uncle Rock; Best stock up the groceries & gas before this election and keep your travel to school, work, and home for say around two weeks after you vote. If Obama loses folk’s, it’s gonna’ get plenty ugly out there.
Oh, speaking of which, I saw today where the Reform Party has thrown their support behind the McCain-Palin ticket, that should be a big tap on the shoulder to my fellow Indies. They haven’t supported either DNC or GOP candidates since the Perot run.

I think you need a laxative. I am 37 year old and I am a tax accountant. I would be reprimanded if I were to write an email in all caps at work. Maybe I am applying my work environment to this blog, sorry. I agree with everything you write but you are quick to jump to a false conclusion based on my own and Rocky_B’s experience. The condescending statement you made a the last of your post #146 would easily be answered by saying that I have worked since I was 13 years old, I paid for my college, and I am today debt free, I am married and have one child and depend on no government institution for anything. I hope that communicates what you need. An interesting subject would be the question of why the Democratic Party is the only party that has a problem with race. Like Rocky_B my question is rhetorical. I would add that the first black members of the US legislative branch were affiliated with the Republican Party. The first black Senator’s name was Hiram Rhodes Revels and he was elected to the senate in 1870. The first black member of congress was also a republican and his name was Joseph H. Rainey and he was elected in 1870. I pose the question, what party first elected a senator, congressperson, had the president that signed the emancipation proclamation, and was responsible for passing the civil rights legislation of the 1960’s. I will give everyone a hint, it was not the communist party (oh I am sorry; I meant to say the Democrat party). In my life the one truth that I have discovered is that all liberals are a mirror image of everything they claim to abhor. I am obviously bating ignorant Democrats that read this blog.
