Ouch, the long knives are out and they are being sharpened as we speak:
Clinton campaign communications director Howard Wolfson released this statement on the Obama campaign’s criticism of Clinton not releasing her tax returns.
His answer in short, it appears: Tony Rezko.
“Faced with many legitimate questions about Senator Obama’s long-time relationship with indicted political fixer Tony Rezko, the Obama campaign has chosen to lash out at Senator Clinton. Here are the facts:
“Over 20 years of the Clintons’ tax returns are in the public domain. Their tax returns since they left the White House will be made available on or around April 15. This information will be in addition to 15 years of uninterrupted public financial disclosure reports.”
“Instead of making false attacks, we urge Senator Obama to release all relevant financial and other information related to indicted political fixer Tony Rezko.”
She actually has a point. If Obama wants to complain about her tax returns, a very legitimate complaint and something we all want to see, then he better be prepared to release all of his financial records so we can see just how far the rabbit hole goes with Rezko.
This kind of stuff makes this ticket a pipe dream in my opinion:

Obama. Speaking on “The Early Show” on CBS, Clinton said “that may be where this is headed, but of course we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket.”
Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains “incredibly close,” with just “smidgens of difference” between them in both the popular vote and number of delegates.”
Although it would be the smartest thing for them to do, I can’t see it happening. Too much is invested in the endeavor….and Hillary needs Obama more than Obama needs Hillary. Those Democrats who like Obama like him because he is NOT a Clinton. Putting a Clinton on the ticket would sour the candidacy.
Hell, didn’t she recently say McCain would be better then Obama? Pretty hard to reconcile that position if and when the times comes for her to leave and hope for a VP slot. I could see it happening the other way around tho, but the numbers don’t bear that happening so in the end….I think neither will be a VP.
Good thing for us because that would be a nightmare of a ticket. Not only for the Republicans but for the country.
