So a kid walks into a college campus and guns down a half dozen people who had been forced to forfeit their lives because the state will not allow them to protect themselves, and what does Obama say about it?
Before speaking to a rally here, Obama said the nation must do a “more effective job of enforcing our gun laws, strengthening our background check system, being able to trace guns that are used in violent crimes to unscrupulous gun dealers — so that we can crack down on them — closing gun show loopholes.”
Obama said he believes in the Second Amendment, but that there is plenty of room for added gun regulations. “There is an individual right to bear arms, but it’s subject to commonsense regulation,” he said.
Mentioning his home city, Obama said local entities should also have the ability to have their own more strict regulations.“I think that local jurisdictions have the capacity to institute their own gun laws…The City of Chicago has gun laws, as does Washington, D.C.,” he said. “I think the notion that somehow local jurisdictions can’t initiate gun safety laws to deal with gang-bangers and random shootings on the street isn’t born out by our constitution.”
Oh, and he said:
Barack Obama says the country must do “whatever it takes” to eradicate gun violence but believes in the right to bear arms.
So the six weeks of background checks in your state isn’t enough Senator Obama? What kind of roadblock shall you put in place now I wonder? Because I will tell you one thing about those “gang-bangers,” they don’t go through those checks.
I deal with the “gang-bangers” of South Central Los Angeles all of the time. In serving search warrants and doing Parole/Probation searches I have yet to come across a gangster with a legally owned firearm. They have guns up the yazoo to be sure, but they are all either stolen or unregistered.
They will find the guns.
But forcing people to forfeit their lives to satisfy the Socialist urge of the lefties is not the answer. Some of those students being armed would have solved the problem. Instead they were like cattle for this scumbag. He knew with a 100% certainty that no one would have a gun on a college campus because of people like Obama who have ensured that it would not legally be possible.
On this issue McCain is solid.
But hey, lets teach the conservatives a lesson and ensure someone will get into office that makes it that much more harder to get the protection you need to ensure the safety of yourself and your family.
