You must have been thinking of people like this guy (in addition to Paul supporters like me).

Yeah, there are a lot of idiots out there. Did you like his comments on you Paulians?
“Ron Paul is automatically excluded because his only appeal is to yellow bellied coward RINOs with bi-polar disorder.”

Well I can’t say I *liked* them, but he’s entitled to his opinion.
As long as you’re ragging on the ‘single issue voters’ (which in this case mostly means dedicated pro-lifers): being single-issue isn’t nutty if the issue is important enough. On the issue of the war against Islamofascism I think it would be fair to say that most of you guys are sort of single issue, in that you would automatically reject someone like Paul who doesn’t acknowledge the threat (even if you would also reject Paul for other reasons, there’s many out there who say ‘Paul is pretty good except for his brain-dead foreign policy’). And if I agreed with your assessment I’d be pretty damn ‘single issue’ about it too. Similarly, if I really put myself in a serious pro-lifer’s shoes, and believed that abortion was as bad as murder, I could never countenance someone who thought the ongoing holocaust of American babies was acceptable.

You’re wrong again if you think that most of us who understand the importance to win in the war on terror are single issue voters.
Most of us have expressed strong opinions in favor of lessening the growth and power of government, strong defense, aggressive foreign policy, a rejection of global warming alarmism, rejection of multiculturist social suicide.
Being a single issue voter is about as stupid as buying a house because you like the color of the paint on the outside. You buy the house then open the door to find it has no bathrooms.
Even my father, a retired OB/GYN who traveled the state of Ohio speaking to Christian groups expressing his strong opposition to abortion thinks Rudy has many fine points.
But then, so do Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Duncan Hunter, Mike Huckabee…
And while I’m only going to vote for one of those guys in the South Carolina primary, I also pledge to work for and vote for the eventual nominee, whoever it is.
Will you make that pledge too bbartblog?????

Wasn’t trying to be dismissive of your opinions on other matters; just seemed unlikely that you would ever support a peacenik, regardless how good he was on other issues. But I see (based on your pledge) that I’m wrong and that you would support even Ron Paul if he were nominated.
Will you make that pledge too
No. I wouldn’t work to help Giuliani. The rest are OK (to varying degrees) in my book, but obviously even one exception ruins the whole pledge.
American history buffs know the sad but true story of William Henry Harrison’s short tenure as President. Mr. Harrison chose not to wear a hat to his inauguration
