Looks like The New Republic is going to try to tackle this Scott Thomas problem by going on offense. Howard Kurtz interviews the editor of TNR and once again the man says its all the fault of us conservatives:
As conservative bloggers yesterday continued to challenge the veracity of Beauchamp’s accounts, Foer said: “It is really unfortunate that someone like Scott, who was really only trying to tell his particular story, has become a pawn in the debate over the war and the Weekly Standard’s efforts to press an ideological agenda.”
Whoakay……who was trying to press an ideological agenda by publishing a soldiers stories without fact checking the damn thing? I mean we all know you WANT to believe are soldiers are capable of this gross behavior but wanting does not make fiction…..fact.
TNR has also admitted that this loser is married to a staffer:
The magazine’s editor, Franklin Foer, disclosed in an interview that Beauchamp is married to a New Republic staffer, and that is “part of the reason why we found him to be a credible writer.”
Cough….Plame…..cough.
Don’t these people ever learn?
The only thing left out of this report is why Gracie, Ace’s inside source, was fired. Pretty important news in my opinion but Kurtz leaves it out.
And finally we get this good news:
Foer also said Beauchamp "has put himself in significant jeopardy" and "lost his lifeline to the rest of the world" because military officials have taken away his laptop, cellphone and e-mail privileges.
