I’m sure you will be in a quandary to pick which side to believe in this story, a rabid left-wing blogger and a lefty celebrity or Karl Rove:
Against an elegant backdrop of political cocktail partying, singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow and top presidential adviser Karl Rove got into a heated exchange over global warming at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
Crow recently joined forces with Hollywood activist Laurie David in the “Stop Global Warming College Tour,” which pretty much is what it says. The duo was seen in a heated conversation with Rove, in an incident which quickly became the evening’s centerpiece of discussion.
An eye-witness recounted what they saw:
“Sheryl and Karl Rove were talking. Karl looked annoyed and she was poking him [angrily]. He started to leave and she pulled on his sleeve and pulled him back. Rove tried to walk away.”
Crow recounted her conversation with Rove to our observer, saying, “I went to talk to him about the global warming project, and he said, ‘You should look at what the Administration is doing.’ I said ‘What IS the administration doing?’ And he said, ‘I don’t need to be confronted like this.’ I said ‘you work for me,’ and he said ‘I don’t work for you, I work for the American people.’ “I said I am ‘American people!’”
Eventually the exchange ended, but clearly not amicably. A visibly stricken Crow told our eyewitness: “I’m still shaking about it. I’m not a scientist but I know a little about global warming. I couldn’t believe how combative and rude he was.”
But another witness came to Rove’s defense: “Laurie David was in his face, being very aggressive, (which was) really inappropriate for the setting. She was intentionally picking a fight so that she could get it written about. Crow came over, she was less aggressive, a little sheepish. Then David walked away. Then Crow left,” reported our source, who claimed to have no reason to side with Rove on the controversy, but considered what the women did to be, “so wrong.”
Supposedly Crow was so "stricken" by the encounter she had to leave, but David went right to blogging about the incident.
I’m sure Crow just loves it when fans tug on her, pull on her clothing, and such but she thought nothing about doing it to Karl Rove because he is so eeeeevvvviiiiiil. From the idiots blog:
In his attempt to dismiss us, Mr. Rove turned to head toward his table, but as soon as he did so, Sheryl reached out to touch his arm. Karl swung around and spat, “Don’t touch me.” How hardened and removed from reality must a person be to refuse to be touched by Sheryl Crow? Unphased, Sheryl abruptly responded, “You can’t speak to us like that, you work for us.” Karl then quipped, “I don’t work for you, I work for the American people.” To which Sheryl promptly reminded him, “We are the American people.”
You see since it’s THE Sheryl Crow Mr. Rove MUST submit to being touched, prodded, tugged and yelled at by her. What friggin idiocy.
Oh, and what kind of "science" does Ms. Crow know?
Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating. One of my favorites is in the area of forest conservation which we heavily rely on for oxygen. I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don’t want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required. When presenting this idea to my younger brother, who’s judgment I trust implicitly, he proposed taking it one step further. I believe his quote was, "how bout just washing the one square out."
Um….yeah. I don’t think I even have to comment on that one.
With all the science that is in dispute about humans causing global warming these two decided to make an incident to pump up their film….want to guess what for?
Money. More publicity, more cash. Money drives the whole global warming fearmongering and it was on display at this dinner, along with rudeness and idiocy.
Meanwhile Mike at Mike’s America points to another scientists who disputes the fearmongering rhethoric coming from these idiots:
Glenn Shaw is an atmospheric scientist specializing in global environmental feedback mechanisms. He is a professor of physics at the Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
In the 1970’s he warned that global warming could be a problem but was ignored because the scaremongering tactic at the time was focused on global cooling.
He also points out other examples where "everybody knew" something which later turned out to be false.

UPDATE
Look at this hypocrisy from the environazi:
Laurie David, the producer of "An Inconvenient Truth" and global warming activist, told Texas A&M students to change their "individual behavior" in order to consume fewer resources and to help battle global warming. As an employee of Easterwood Airport, I would like to point out that Mrs. David flew to our campus in a luxurious private jet, which could be seen from 10 miles away due to the thick plume of smog it left in its wake. I am neither denying nor confirming the epidemic of global warming, I am simply pointing out that hypocrites such as Mrs. David don’t care about the environment, only their own political agendas. This is proven time and again by these celebrities’ and lobbyist’s "do as I say, not as I do" attitude.

But she could just purchase more carbon offsets right? Why should she have to be forced to drive like the rest of us.
A little more:
In the new Atlantic Monthly, Eric Alterman notes that Laurie David, wife of Larry David–among Hollywood’s wealth elite owing to "Seinfeld" royalties–has become an influential environmental crusader, but herself travels in chartered Gulfstream jets. Laurie David has organized numerous celebrity save-the-environment events and "reviles the owners of SUVs as terrorist enablers, yet gives herself a pass when it comes to chartering one of the most wasteful uses of fossil-based fuels imaginable," a private jet, Alterman writes. I did a few quick calculations. The mid-sized Gulfstream G200 model can carry about 2,100 gallons of jet fuel, which is made from petroleum, and would burn around 1,200 to 1,500 gallons flying from New York to Los Angeles, depending on wind speed and how many passengers were aboard. A Hummer driven 15,000 miles, the average put on a car per year, would burn around 1,250 gallons of gasoline. So for Laurie David to take one cross-country flight in a Gulfstream is the same, in terms of Persian-Gulf dependence and greenhouse-gas emissions, as if she drove a Hummer for an entire year. But then, conservation is what other people should do.
Do as I say, not as I do.

You are miserable. Everyone knows you are just feeding off of your husband’s fame and you have no merit of your own. Judging from the way he channels you in Curb, he either consciously or sub-consciously thinks you are a disgusting sack of shit.
The more apparent it becomes that there is no sound scientific basis for the radical alteration of our lifestyle demanded by the Global Warming Taliban, the more outrageous their conduct is.
I’m also reminded of the time a group called National People’s Action invaded Karl Rove’s home and began pounding on the windows.
ALL these people are infected with an absolute moral inversion which in their minds justifies any action to get what they want.
And they call Bush a Nazi?
