11 Egyptian Men Missing Inside The United States

Programs like these have created nothing but trouble for our country in the past, including 9/11, but they continue to let them run:

WASHINGTON — U.S. authorities are searching for 11 Egyptian men who arrived in the United States last month but failed to turn up at Montana State University for a scheduled academic program.

According to the FBI and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, the men were among a larger group of students who arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York from Cairo on July 29 with valid visas.

FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko said there is no threat associated with the men.

A law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity said the men are between 18 and 22 years old.

The official said the government probably will seek to send the students home once located because they have violated the terms of their visas.

University officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

I especially enjoy the part where the FBI says they are not considered a threat, they are just looking for them because they skipped on their bus passes I suppose.

A poster at FR wonders if they are heading here:

The Young Muslims are in hiding. They are hiding the location of their August 2nd youth camp, and the public has a right to know why.

The Young Muslims (YM) was founded well over a decade ago, as a subsidiary of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), an organization that was created specifically to emulate the violent Muslim Brotherhood of Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami. Through ICNA, YM holds events that feature as speakers some of the most radical individuals in the Islamic community. These events include youth camps, which, prior to the attacks on 9/11, were referred to as "jihad camps."

The latest YM camp, themed ‘Deen and Dunya: Finding the Balance,' will be held tomorrow, August 2nd through August 6th. The organization has worked hard to keep the location of the destination under wraps. On the YM website, people are explicitly told not to discuss the matter.

Originally, the event was to be held in Villanova, Pennsylvania, at the 23-acre Foundation for Islamic Education (FIE), where many YM events are held throughout the year. [This includes one last April featuring UK Imam Sheik Riyadh ul-Haq, who, just two months later, was banned from entering Canada, "because his views could incite terror and hatred."] However, the camp was to be a five-day affair – a violation of local zoning regulations – and after years of infractions perpetrated by FIE, the residents complained and got the Township of Lower Merion, where FIE is located, to threaten an injunction against the group.

The ages fit since the missing ones are just a bit over 18.

Take a look at the speakers for this program btw:

  • Siraj Wahhaj, the Imam of the Masjid At-Taqwa mosque in Brooklyn and an individual listed as a potential co-conspirator to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, who has stated about the United States in a taped sermon, "In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam."
  • Abdul Malik, the chaplain of the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority and former Office Manager of CAIR-New York, who likened President George W. Bush to a "slave master" and, in a speech entitled ‘Service to Society: The Key to Reformation,' stated, "Assalam alaikum [crowd responds: ‘wa alaikum assalam']. I look forward to hearing that one day in the White House, and then paint it black." And "…we don't want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democracy."
  • Faisal Hamouda, who is a leading volunteer for Islamic Relief, a charity that Israel has named a front for Hamas.

And that's just a few of them.

No matter where they are headed.  To the above youth fanatic Islam program or flight training, this is a bit disconcerting wouldn't you say? Little over a month until the 5th anniversary of 9/11 and we lose 11 young men from a known terrorist breeding country.

Our immigration policies are far from perfect but while doing research for this post I came across these guys that didn't get through:

Some Iranian citizens traveling to Santa Clara this weekend for a reunion of graduates and professors from a Tehran university have been stopped at U.S. airports and told the visas they were carrying had been revoked.

The State Department on Thursday refused to say why some Iranians coming to the conference with visas approved by U.S. consulates abroad are being denied entry, detained overnight and then sent back to Iran. Event organizers said they know of 20 who have so far been turned away. More than 100 additional Iranian nationals are due at the weekend event.

I especially like this part:

Hojabri surmised that the recent events in the Middle East coupled with the Iranian nuclear development issue may have led to this week's actions.

You think?

That time our policy worked, it failed spectacularly with the missing kids.

UPDATE 2200hrs PST

Another news source is reporting that it was a group of 17 men who arrived here for a monthlong English class:

The Egyptian men were among a group of 17 students who arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York from Cairo on July 29 with valid visas, according to U.S. authorities and university officials.

The other six have arrived at the Bozeman, Mont., campus for a monthlong program on English language instruction and U.S. history and culture, university spokeswoman Cathy Conover said.

When the 11 didn't turn up by the end of the last week, the FBI issued a lookout to state and local law enforcement, said FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko.

[…}U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement declined to make their names public.

[…]The school has tried repeatedly to contact the students, Conover said, including sending e-mails. When that failed, the school notified Homeland Security officials and registered the Egyptians as "no-shows" in the system developed after Sept. 11 to track foreign students, Conover said.

They were participating in an exchange program Montana State arranged with Mansoura University in Mansoura, Egypt.

Plus it appears lots of news outlets are starting to pick up on the story.

UPDATE II 08/08/06 0925hrs PST

The MSM forgot to mention that when the FBI put out their advisory they also advised law enforcement to approach with caution:

An FBI advisory says there are, at present, no known connections to any terrorist group but that the students are to be "approached with caution" and taken into custody.  They "are here illegally and wanted for questioning," the advisory says.

Plus the names have been released:

1. Ibrahim, El Sayed Ahmed Elsayed; DOB OF 4/29/1986.
2. El Dessouki, Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed; DOB OF 02/21/1985.
3. El Bahnasawi, Alaa Abd El Fattah Ali; DOB OF 04/02/1986.

UPDATE III 0950hrs PST

The pre-paid cell phone bonanza appears to be occurring again, coincidence?

Folks at the Dollar General in Grafton (Ohio) say in the past few days, several men have come into the store attempting to buy large numbers of prepaid phones. However, store policy only allows a customer to buy two phones at a time, in fact, they are locked away from the general public.

The clerks say after they were in the Dollar General, the men went to the Grafton Walmart to try to purchase more of the phones.

Grafton police found one man during a traffic stop. They say he had hundreds of prepaid phones in his car.

There is no word on what the men planned to do with the phones or why they bought so many, but the incident was later turned over to the FBI for an investigation.

I’m pretty sure the Feebs are just looking for them so they can take their mid-terms…

When will our Gov’t (FBI, Seattle P.D., etc.) get serious about Islamic Terrorism?

Islamic Terrorists are the 300lb gorilla in the room that LE and the Gov’t refuses to see…

Until they recognize it and call it what it is, we’re doomed.
