CAIR, that supposedly unbiased organization consisting of "level headed" Muslims nationwide paid for a phone survey of a 1000 people over the last few days and came up with this result:
– Almost 54 percent of respondents support an immediate Mideast cease fire.
– Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of those surveyed favor American neutrality or disengagement from the Middle East conflict.
– 37 percent of respondents believe U.S. policy in the Middle East is balanced, favoring neither side.
– 36 percent believe the U.S. is biased in favor of Israel.
– Only 2 percent believe the U.S. favors the Palestinians and Lebanese.
– 35 percent believe media coverage of the conflict is "balanced and fair to all sides."
– 21 percent said media coverage favors Israel.
– 15 percent said it favors the Palestinians and Lebanese.
You see anything wrong with those numbers? Well, the numbers may be ok but the way they presented the results is an obvious attempt to skew the results. Dave at SevenStripes put up the numbers how they should have been reported:
– Almost 46 percent of respondents understand a U.N.-drafted cease-fire would be violated by Hezbollah.
– Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of those surveyed favor a sweeping Israeli victory without any required American intervention.
– 63 percent of respondents believe U.S. policy in the Middle East favors Democracy and Freedom, not Islamic fundamentalism.
– 64 percent believe the U.S. is not biased in favor of Israel.
– 98 percent believe the U.S. does not favor deliberate murder and hate mongering carried out by Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad.
– 65 percent believe media coverage of the conflict is unbalanced.
– 79 percent said the media coverage is skewed to spur sympathy for Lebanon and hatred against Israel, through reports of false claims and distorted truths (Qana, anyone?).
– (A tally of the last three questions: 35% say ‘fair' + 21% ‘Israel' + 15% ‘Palestinians/Lebanese' = only 71% out of 100%), therefore, are we to believe that the remaining 29%, nearly one-third, either had no opinion, or believed coverage strictly and specifically favors Hezbollah?
Same numbers, presented how they should have been. A bit different result huh?
This coming from the same organization that named Israel a terrorist state while ignoring Hezbollah, a REAL terrorist organization:
An Islamic advocacy group accuses Israel of waging a campaign of terror in southern Lebanon.
Moreover, the Council on American-Islamic Relations says U.S. support for "Israeli terror" is undermining America's credibility and interests worldwide.
"Whenever civilians are attacked to achieve a political goal, the charge of terrorism must be applied, whether the terrorist is an individual, a group or a state," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.
They failed to note that Israel dropped leaflets for days telling civilians to leave, something REAL terrorists do not do since their whole goal is to kill innocent people. They failed to note that Hezbollah hides among the innocent to cause the deaths of those same people. Lastly, they fail to note that all Hezbollah had to do was hand over those soldiers they kidnapped and disarm according to the worlds wishes.
Funny how they forget all that huh?
Not surprising when you realize that CAIR has been a front for terrorist operations worldwide:
But there is another side to CAIR that has alarmed many people in positions to know. The Department of Homeland Security refuses to deal with it. Senator Charles Schumer (Democrat, New York) describes it as an organization “which we know has ties to terrorism.” Senator Dick Durbin (Democrat, Illinois) observes that CAIR is “unusual in its extreme rhetoric and its associations with groups that are suspect.” Steven Pomerantz, the FBI’s former chief of counterterrorism, notes that “CAIR, its leaders, and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups.” The family of John P. O’Neill, Sr., the former FBI counterterrorism chief who perished at the World Trade Center, named CAIR in a lawsuit as having “been part of the criminal conspiracy of radical Islamic terrorism” responsible for the September 11 atrocities. Counterterrorism expert Steven Emerson calls it “a radical fundamentalist front group for Hamas.”
Of particular note are the American Muslims who reject CAIR’s claim to speak on their behalf. The late Seifeldin Ashmawy, publisher of the New Jersey-based Voice of Peace, called CAIR the champion of “extremists whose views do not represent Islam.” [4]Jamal Hasan of the Council for Democracy and Tolerance explains that CAIR’s goal is to spread “Islamic hegemony the world over by hook or by crook.”[5]Kamal Nawash, head of Free Muslims Against Terrorism, finds that CAIR and similar groups condemn terrorism on the surface while endorsing an ideology that helps foster extremism, adding that “almost all of their members are theocratic Muslims who reject secularism and want to establish Islamic states.” Tashbih Sayyed of the Council for Democracy and Tolerance calls CAIR “the most accomplished fifth column” in the United States. And Stephen Schwartz of the Center on Islamic Pluralism writes that “CAIR should be considered a foreign-based subversive organization, comparable in the Islamist field to the Soviet-controlled Communist Party, USA.”
More:
CAIR is not what it seems – not what it pretends to be.
It is not a group fighting for equal rights for Muslim-Americans. It is not a group trying to protect the interests of Muslims in America. It is not a group promoting human rights for anyone.
It is a group whose real mission is changing the very character of America – remaking it in the image of the Islamo-fascists who fund them from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere.
You will never hear a nice word about America from the Council on American-Islamic Relations. It's a hate group. It spends all or most of its time and resources denigrating America, condemning it as a pariah state that exploits and oppresses Muslims.
According to CAIR, America is a terrible place for Muslims. At the same time, CAIR boasts Islam is the fastest-growing religion in America. It makes you wonder: If conditions for Muslims are so bad in America, why is Islam so popular? Why are Muslims flocking from all parts of the world to the United States – this hideous concentration camp for Muslims?
I'll tell you why. Many Muslims have come here and continue to come here to escape the Islamo-fascism of places like Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia – places about which CAIR never has a bad word to say.
CAIR was late to the party in condemning Osama bin Laden for the Sept. 11 terror attacks. It finally got around to it three months after the fact. Don't expect to hear any CAIR officials condemn suicide bombings by the terrorists in Hamas. The founder of this organization is on record in support of the goals and tactics of Hamas.
CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper indicated in a 1993 interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he wants the United States to become a Muslim country.
"I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future," Hooper told the Star Tribune. "But I'm not going to do anything violent to promote that. I'm going to do it through education."
A terrorist front organization hiding in plain sight amongst us….something to think about when you see this group mentioned again.
David at SevenStripes has come up with a nice blogroll idea in honor of this group:
After reading the latter results and seeing how I intentionally skewed the answers to correspond to my personal political beliefs, I hope you join me in condemning the CAIR group for attempting to hijack the name and opinions of all Americans to push their pathetic agenda by exploiting such a fraudulent, blatently biased, intentionally dishonest telephone survey.
As those amazing diplomats in the sex-scandal-ridden United Nations do, I hereby call an emergency meeting of the Conservosphere Security Council!
In addition, I hereby propose "Conservosphere Resolution #411″ (because ‘information' is only what you make of it).
Hell, while we're at it, how about all those who are reading this post and agree that CAIR should be officially condemned for their actions (past, present, and lets face it, future), join me in a new BlogRoll called the "United Conservosphere," a united effort by intelligent members of the conservative blogosphere who seek out truth from rhetoric and propaganda.
Won't you join me?
I have the blogroll icon on my sidebar, click it and sign up…
