Those “Feisty” Nobel Peace Prize Winners

Everyday it seems as if there is somekind of leftwing lunacy to blog about.  Today is no different.  

Leftist, and Nobel Prize winner Betty Williams was speaking in front of a bunch of school kids at the Earth Dialogues in Australia and said the following:

NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren.

[…]"I have a very hard time with this word ‘non-violence', because I don't believe that I am non-violent," said Ms Williams, 64.

"Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.

Feisty?  What the hell is that?  This supposed peace lover is advocating killing another human being because she disagrees with him.  Tell me, is this really any different then a Islam Fanatic preaching the killing of civilians?  She goes on to say:

"I don't know how I ever got a Nobel Peace Prize, because when I see children die the anger in me is just beyond belief. It's our duty as human beings, whatever age we are, to become the protectors of human life."

Uh, hello?  Which is it?  Her duty is to protect human life, except those who she wishes to kill because she disagrees with him……sure thing, much clearer now.  Why didn't she mention killing the Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al-Qaeda killers who suicide bomb innocent human life?  How about killing Saddam when he brutally murdered these folks:

A mass grave being excavated in a north Iraqi village has yielded evidence that Iraqi forces executed women and children under Saddam Hussein.

US-led investigators have located nine trenches in Hatra containing hundreds of bodies believed to be Kurds killed during the repression of the 1980s.

The skeletons of unborn babies and toddlers clutching toys are being unearthed, the investigators said.

[…]The victims are believed to be Kurds killed in 1987-88, their bodies bulldozed into the graves after being summarily shot dead.

One trench contains only women and children while another contains only men.

The body of one woman was found still clutching a baby. The infant had been shot in the back of the head and the woman in the face.

"The youngest foetus we have was 18 to 20 foetal weeks," said US investigating anthropologist P Willey.

"Tiny bones, femurs – thighbones the size of a matchstick."

Guess she was on vacation. 

This waste of oxygen is another example of one of the great Nobel Peace Prize winners.  She can stand tall beside:

Yassar Arafat

In Kuwait in 1959, with the help of friends Yahia Ghavani and Khalil al-Wazir (Abu Jihad) [4], together with a group of refugees from Gaza, Arafat founded one of the groups that became al-Fatah. FaTaH means conquest or victory, meaning the Palestine Liberation Movement.2 Fatah dedicated itself to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Arafat worked hard in Kuwait to establish the groundwork for Fatah's future financial support by enlisting contributions from the many Palestinians working there, who gave generously from their high salaries in the oil industry (ibid., p.91).

Fatah's first operation was an unsuccessful attempt to blow up an Israeli water pump station in 1965.

After the Six-Day War, Arafat is said to have escaped Israel by crossing the Jordan River dressed as a woman carrying a baby.

Recall that Arafat's group, the PLO had an offshot organization called "Black September" who were responsible for the 1972 Munich Olympic massacre.

How about Rigoberta Menchu, the Mayan "peasant" who lied about her "poor" upbringing so her story and autobiography would look better:

THE STORY OF RIGOBERTA MENCHU, a Quiche Mayan from Guatemala, whose autobiography catapulted her to international fame, won her the Nobel Peace Prize, and made her an international emblem of the dispossessed indigenous peoples of the Western hemisphere and their attempt to rebel against the oppression of European conquerors, has now been exposed as a political fabrication, a tissue of lies, and one of the greatest intellectual and academic hoaxes of the Twentieth Century.

During the last decade, Rigoberta Menchu had become a leading icon of the university culture. In one of the more celebrated "breakthroughs" of the multicultural left, a demonstration of left-wing faculty and students at Stanford University, led by the Reverend Jesse Jackson, had chanted "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western cultures got to go!" The target of the chant was Stanfords required curriculum in Western civilization. University officials quickly caved before the demonstrators, and the course title was changed simply to "CIV." Works by "Third World" (mainly Marxist) authors previously "excluded" were now introduced into the canon of great books as required reading. Chief among these was an autobiography by an indigenous Guatemalan and sometime revolutionary, I, Rigoberta Menchu, which now took its place beside Aristotle, Dante, and Shakespeare as the Stanford students introduction to the world.

[…]As told by Rigoberta, the tragedy of the Menchus is "the story of all Guatemalas poor." The author of I, Rigoberta Menchu makes this linkage explicit: "My personal experience is the reality of a whole people." It is a call to people of good will all over the world to help the noble but powerless indigenous peoples of Guatemala and other Third World countries to gain their rightful inheritance. Made internationally famous by the success of her book, and by the Nobel Prize she was awarded in 1992, Rigoberta is now head of the Rigoberta Menchu Túm Foundation for Human Rights and a spokesperson for the cause of "social justice and peace."

Unfortunately for this political fantasy, virtually everything that Rigoberta has written is a lie. These lies, moreover, are neither incidental nor accidental. They are lies about the central events and facts of her story, and they have been deliberately concocted to shape its political content and to create a specific political myth.

[…]The fictional life of Rigoberta Menchu is a piece of Communist propaganda designed to incite hatred of Europeans and Westerners, and the societies they have built, and to organize support for Communist and terrorist organizations at war with the democracies of the West. It has also become the single most influential social treatise read by American college students.

[…]Rigoberta Menchu made a fool of the credulous defenders of Third World-ism on the Nobel Prize committee, and of her feckless academic sponsors at Stanford and other universities, all of whom were looking for such a fraud to legitimate their fantasies. Along with the Castroite agents of disinformation behind this project, they all made a monster in I, Rigoberta Menchu, which now stands alongside the Hitler Diaries, a bird of a similar political feather, as the great literary hoax of our age.

How about Le Duc Tho:

In 1930, Le Duc Tho helped fund the Indochinese Communist Party. French colonial authorities imprisoned him from 1930 to 1936 and again from 1939 to 1944. After his release in 1945 he helped lead the Viet Minh, the Vietnamese independence movement against the French, until the Geneva Accords were signed in 1954. He then joined the Lao Dong Politburo of the Vietnam Workers' Party in 1955, now the Communist Party of Vietnam. Le oversaw the Communist insurgency that began in 1956 against the South Vietnam government.

Shall I say it again? Nobel Peace Prize winner my ass

Yes, that prize is one to put on your mantle.

But you know what really gets me about this article?  The fact that the children cheered the thought of killing a person.  Does anyone else find this morally repugnant?
