I just heard that idiot Cindy Sheehan call the terrorists in Iraq, freedom fighters. While not shocked because, well, it’s crazy Cindy, but I am amazed that she called the people who murdered her son “freedom fighters”. This lady is unhinged, who could be a more perfect role model for the left then this lady?
Cindy Sheehan, the so-called Peace Mom seeking a second meeting with President Bush in connection with the Iraq War death of her son, says terrorists killing Americans are “freedom fighters.”
She made the remark during her trek earlier this month to Crawford, Texas; but her equating the enemy with freedom fighters has not been highlighted by the mainstream media, despite her telling it directly to a reporter for CBS News.
…”You know that the president says Iraq is the central front in the war on terrorism, don’t you believe that?” asked Mark Knoller of CBS, surrounded by a host of other reporters.
“No, because it’s not true,” Sheehan replied. “You know Iraq was no threat to the United States of America until we invaded. I mean they’re not even a threat to the United States of America. Iraq was not involved in 9-11, Iraq was not a terrorist state. But now that we have decimated the country, the borders are open, freedom fighters from other countries are going in, and they [American troops] have created more terrorism by going to an Islamic country, devastating the country and killing innocent people in that country. The terrorism is growing and people who never thought of being car bombers or suicide bombers are now doing it because they want the United States of America out of their country.”
What is even more interesting is the fact that the MSM isn’t reporting this news. Another big shocker there.
A WorldNetDaily search of CBS News, Google News, and Lexis-Nexis archives found not a single news report mentioning Sheehan’s “freedom fighters” remark.
So you have this lady calling our President a terrorist, who compared Rumsfeld to Hitler and Stalin, who called our sitting administration a bunch of murderous thugs, and the media fawns over her. You get a wacko evangelist call for the assassination of Hugo Chavez and the media goes into attack mode. No one see’s anything strange there?

Just surfing around the blogosphere and a few message boards, it struck me – the differences between how the liberals unwaveringly support Cindy Sheehan and what she?s said versus how conservatives have done their level best to distance themselves from Pat Robertson?s advocation for Hugo Chavez?s assassination.
The general tenor of the lefty blogs on Pat seems to be “conservatives need to repudiate Pat?s comments!” And conservatives are doing so – but not because liberals are asking them to, but because it?s the right thing to do.
OTOH, the harsh rhetoric coming from Cindy Sheehan (and those of her “supporters”) is considered off limits for criticism according to the left. Any attempt to criticize Sheehan?s statements, or those from her “supporters” gets met with cries of “SMEAR MERCHANT!” – and worse (Jeff Goldstein discusses that here).
Ok, onto the craziness that is otherwise known as Cindy’s World.
Sheehan referred to her son, Casey, not as a war hero, but rather a war victim.
“If I was thinking straight, which I wasn’t, I never would have allowed a military funeral, and I wouldn’t have buried him in his uniform,” Sheehan said. “I just basically stayed sitting on my couch, crying and drinking for a week.”
…Well I believe that my son was killed by the policies of George Bush, you know, that none of those kids should be in Iraq at all … The person who killed my son, I have no animosity for that person at all. You know, I many Iraqi mothers who have been destroyed by our invasion and occupation which is illegal and immoral what we are doing over there. I have no animosity towards that person.
That last paragraph where she say’s she has no ill feelings towards the terrorists who killed her son has not been reported by the MSM, another big shocker:
I’d like to remind you that she said this during a phone call with a group of reporters, and I can’t find a single instance of this remark reported anywhere. Perhaps that’s because, reading the transcript, it becomes evident that the reporters are on Sheehan’s side.
Her comments are being repeated and printed by the Al-Jazeera tho, which in turn raises the morale of our enemy, which directly equates to aiding and abetting our enemy in my opinion.

Finally Angry over at Angry In the Great White North has some great evidence that this organization allied with Cindy should not be considered tax-exempt:
US tax laws concerning tax-exempt non-profit organizations are very strict. Is Gold Star Families for Peace skirting the edge, or has the group jumped way over the line? Maybe the IRS should ask some questions.

GSFP currently is registered as a 501C3 non-profit organization. When arriving in Crawford, Sheehan spoke for the group when she called for President Bush?s impeachment. She has also demanded ?answers? from President Bush on a daily basis. As the Associated Press reported on August 8th, ?We GSFP members will not leave until we get answers from George Bush. We deserve and expect him to welcome us with answers to as why our loved ones are dead.?
However, the IRS has established the following guidelines on 501C3 organizations and political activity: ?If any of the activities (whether or not substantial) of your organization consist of participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office, your organization will not qualify for tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3). Such participation or intervention includes the publishing or distributing of statement.?
Me thinks the IRS should look into this a bit.
