The Newsweek Riots – Update II

Newsweek finally issued a retraction of that idiotic piece today:

Newsweek on Monday retracted a story alleging interrogators at Guantanamo flushed the Koran down a toilet in front of detainees.

“Based on what we know now, we are retracting our original story that an internal military investigation had uncovered Koran abuse at Guantanamo Bay,” editor Mark Whitaker said in statement released Monday evening.

How is it that the MSM can’t see through Al-Qaeda’s tactics? Tactics that are written into their training manuals: (recently seized in a raid)

1 . At the beginning of the trial, once more the brothers must insist on proving that torture was inflicted on them by State Security [investigators] before the judge.

2. Complain [to the court] of mistreatment while in prison.

I believe it is there liberal, anti-war, anti-bush beliefs and policies that led them to this point, a point in which they cause the death of 16 people. I mean come on, look at their recent history. CBS airing the forged documents, Eason Jordon spinning fairy tales about our military, and the skewed hysteria of the Abu Ghraib reporting are but a few examples of the blatant bias that exists in the MSM. I highly doubt we have heard the last of these kinds of allegations. These reporters and editors have an agenda plain and simple. That agenda is to make the Bush administration look as bad as possible, whether the allegations they print are true or not. Truth be damned.

Oh, by the way, Uncorrelated has started to call this incident ToiletGate…I like it!
