Say What? February 19, 2012 Edition (a lot of quotes this week) [Reader Post]

Democratic chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz: “[Contraception costs] about $700 a year. That’s real money.”

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius: “[Free contraception] is a no-cost benefit, that…actually is a cost reducer.”

Rush Limbaugh: “We need a morning-after pill for presidential elections.” Continue reading

America hates Newt Gingrich [Reader Post]

Beating Barack Obama and ending the damage he can do to this country is one of the most important tasks facing this country. Much to my chagrin, many of my fellow conservatives are all to willing to do Obama’s bidding in taking down Mitt Romney. What does that leave?

Newt Gingrich? Continue reading

Paul Ryan shares with the Founding Fathers the badge of honor called liberal disdain [Reader Post]

It’s not uncommon to hear liberals ridicule conservatives for wanting a Constitutional government by suggesting that they are seeking to return to a time when blacks were considered 3/5 of a person and that the Constitution is somehow permanently damaged because it did not outlaw slavery. (At the time of the Constitution’s ratification in 1789 slavery was still legal in the British and French Empires – although not in England and France themselves – Spain, Denmark & Norway as well as most of the Middle East, Africa and Asia.) News Before it Happens [Reader Post]

News Before it Happens

This prediction has been made by others (like Dr. John in Flopping Aces): the coming election, from the Democrat controlled media, is going to be all about race.  Anything a Republican says about Obama is racist or code words for racism.

Easy call: Israel is not going back to its 1967 borders. Continue reading

Say What? May 24, 2011 edition [Reader Post]

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: “There’s no need to have a Democratic budget in my opinion.  It would be foolish for us to do a budget at this stage.”

Ed Schultz: “You see, being from the south, you know what these code words are all about. To say something about food stamps is not about white folks, it’s about black folks. There’s no question about it.”

Herb Kohl: “A 401(k) savings account should not be used as a piggy bank.” Continue reading

Starve ‘em, strand ‘em, freeze ‘em: Obama’s plans for the elderly [Reader Post]

And that’s before rationing their health care.

Barack Obama thinks he can seize upon Paul Ryan’s plan as a foil for his re-election.

Democrats still smarting from their 2010 mid-term defeat see Republican Rep. Paul Ryan’s controversial plan to overhaul Medicare as political aspirin, a cure for just about everything that ails them.

But for Barack Obama it’s more like Geritol — a targeted treatment for his chronic aches and pains with older voters.

Obama’s dishonest budget plan [Reader Post]

January 2011

Obama Calls for a New Era of Civility in U.S. Politics

“If, as has been discussed in recent days, their deaths help usher in more civility in our public discourse,” Mr. Obama said, “let us remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy — it did not — but rather because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation, in a way that would make them proud.”

Say What? 4/20/2011 edition [Reader Post]

Barack Obama: “We contribute to programs like Medicare and Social Security, which guarantee us health care and a measure of basic income after a lifetime of hard work; unemployment insurance, which protects us against unexpected job loss; and Medicaid, which provides care for millions of seniors in nursing homes, poor children, and those with disabilities. We are a better country because of these commitments. I’ll go further – we would not be a great country without those commitments.”

Obama: “I don’t need another tax cut.” The President lives rent-free with no out-of-pocket costs to be paid toward food, transportation, staff, vacations. Continue reading
